  1. Incredible as usual. It was awesome to see both Will and Hannibal have a fair share of action that wasn't off screen. That violin guy was seriously intimidating. They didn't under or overplay his character. I remember him being an intimidating archangel in SPN a few seasons ago, so it was nice to see the actor again. Gillian Anderson is great as ever, as well as the rest of the cast. I don't think I saw the deer that haunts his dreams this time (I love the deer sighting! It's always so oddly beautiful and freakish) but then at the end of the episode where we found out Bedelia du Maurier (Gillian Anderson's character) had actually KILLED her attacker gave me chills.

  2. Maybe she killed the attacker in self-defense?

  3. The normalcy that this show is trying to define as the theme is truly amazing. Psychopaths, using human organs to satisfy their wanted needs, hallucinating, and having gourmet food with expensive wine. Sure seems normal to me, lol.

I have to say, psychopaths can sure fight well or at least defend themselves pretty well and oh my goodness, Hannibal’s expression when he broke Tobias’ arm was just pure brilliance of showing the true nature of Hannibal’s character, hats off to you Mr. Mads Mikkelsen. And did Hannibal wanted Will dead or just wanted Will to experience what he experienced in the first episode?!?!

Overall, awesome. Seeing psychopath’s imagination on how to use human organs is surly educational. Thank you writers and creator of Hannibal the TV show.

  4. I'm predicting Will will figure out Hannibal at the end of this season and next season Hannibal will be on the run - taunting Will & Jack with his kills.

  5. Yeah it was in self defense. But the way it was handled at first it made it seem like she was merely attacked, victimized, etc. by the patient. Then she flat out states that everyone is intrinsically responsible for their own survival and she was not responsible for the patient that attacked her, and so to save herself she killed him. I just didn't expect that she killed him, that's what I meant in my comment. :)

  6. Well, all I know is that Hannibal sure knows how to pick the people he wants to be surrounded with, lol.

  7. Mads Mikkelsen was fantastic in yesterday episode!

I don't think Hannibal wanted Graham dead yet; he seemed genuinly relieved to see him alive.

I think Hannibal Lecter is pushing Will Graham too the edge: First beciause he can. Hannibal enjoy manipulating people. He's like a shark playing with his prey. Second, because he knows that otherwise, Graham brilliant mind will soon link the doctor to the serial killer they hunt.

It was of course also a cunning way to be ridden of tobias.

Somehow, I see Lecter sending Will to the (other) killer den as a symbolic trial by blood.
As doctor Du Maurier (gillian Anderson) explained; Hannibal wants a friend that is "worthy is friendship".
In Lecter twisted mind, to become that friend; Will Graham must lose some his naivety and "innocence". He must become as dark as Lecter to be able to climb over the doctor mental wall and accept him for the monster he is.

  9. Dragging it on too long though is the problem, we're about 3/4 of the way through this season so another few episodes seems about right to me.

And I don't think I'm alone i wanting the adversarial relationship to start and for Will to wake up to the fact his nemesis is right their in front of him half the time - I can't recall the books exactly but I'm sure they mentioned chasing him for a quite a while too.

  10. In the book; Dr Lecter is not Will Graham psychiatrist. Will comes to Hannibal office while following a lead. Will decide to go return to Lecter office the same day. Lecter try to kill him but end up wounded himself and is arrested. Lecter isn't the one they chase in "Red Dragon" book.

I don't want Hannibal to be exposed as a killer to soon. Watching him interact with people and manipulate the fbi is really fun. But I agree that Will, gifted profiler, should already sense that something isn't right with Lecter.

  12. Another truely brilliant episode! Mads Mikkelsen had a lot of screen time and did a great job.
I hope Will doesn´t figure out who he really is for a little while longer. I love how Hannibal is toying with him and the rest of the FBI.
I love Wills visions, they are just the right amount of creepy.

  13. I might be wrong but I did get the feeling that she did not kill her patient, that Hannibal did.
I think that she's very aware of who he truly is , remember when he said " he can understand my way of thinking" and she replied " as he profiles the criminally insanes"....
and that final look when she said she wasn't taking responsibility for his death and hannibal replied " why should you?" makes me think that he killed him for her.
I always thought that Hannibal was the dominant in this relationship, that he was using her but it might be the other way around.
