The first 50 min were way too slow, I felt the last episode was better, but the last 10 mininutes were awesome, even if I saw the ending coming miles away.
And the mesasge made me LOL => Trolling level; Grimm producers
I love Nick, but I have to say, if he was sharp enough to realize he'd been lured into a trap in the first place, why did he let himself get deeper and deeper into that trap?
Predictable, but loved it anyway. The only thing I didn't predict was that Adalind was in on the plan to kill Frau Pech. So now she has the means to get her powers back.
I liked it but I thought that with 2 episodes there could have been much more. It was dragged out already and now we have to wait for fall for it to be wrapped up. The story line is getting better but ya, I would have liked it more condensed. For the first time since she lost her powers Adalind shone. Great episode for her. So, if Nick goes to Austria does the whole scooby doo gang go with him? I don't think Juliette is going to be without him, finally having him back.
Not a bad episode. I think pondering the possibilities that could stem from the fallout of the finale are more entertaining than the episode itself. I have plenty of questions... - Will Nick be on his own in terms of getting out of this situation or will Renard figure it out and get his inside man to help? - Will The Resistance somehow come back into play with Nick in Europe? An appearance by Ian Harmon, maybe? - Are Nick and Adalind headed for a rematch in Austria and will Adalind's desire for revenge get in the way of whatever Eric has planned for him? - Will Prince Eric get a haircut or will he continue to look like Juan Epstein from Welcome Back Kotter? - Now that Juliette has officially joined the party, will Grimm find a way to make her a useful member of Portland: Special Wesen Unit? - Will getting bit by one of those faux zombies do anything weird to Wu?
Anyway, this was a decent episode. It wasn't as big as articles claimed it was going to be but it was alright nonetheless. - Grimm needs to start getting Renard out of the office (and hotels, etc.) again and doing stuff. He's back to just talking on the phone and having meetings with people. - I liked the Adalind twist. It's the best episode she's had in a while. - Am I the only one not buying Shohreh Aghdashloo as a gypsy? I usually like everything I see her in but this character isn't working for me. - Rosalee & Monroe need to set up an impromptu "Wesen culture class" for Juliette. The first episode she joins the gang and she has already made a big faux pas. - I hope this isn't the last we see of Baron Samedi. Someone needs to kick that guy's ass. :)
Final thought: When Nick gets back to Portland, he needs to tell Renard to find room in the Portland PD budget to give a healthy monthly stipend to the spice shop. All the potions and powders and miscellaneous ingredients Rosalee uses are probably rare and at least somewhat expensive. I have to imagine that all the concoctions she's had to throw together while helping Nick's various Wesen-based criminal investigations have severely cut into her profit margins.
I understand Nick drawing attention to himself to allow his friends time to get away but going after Baron Samedi was dumb. Even if he did take him down, how did he expect to make it ouf of there with all the zombies running around? Additionally, when Nick saw the guy showboating on top of the shipping container he should have drew his weapon and shot him instead of climbing up on that damn thing.
And the most random question of the year award goes to '' Will Prince Eric get a haircut or will he continue to look like Juan Epstein from Welcome Back Kotter?'' XD
Thought the same about Wu for a second, but I don't it will affect him, maybe they did that on purpose to show us it's not 'real zombie' or whatever.
I think hank would be the one to save Nick.....the story might be different if the actor playing Hank was not injuried in real life....Julie was pretty much hank replacement......
I agree...predictable and Nick was a little bit stupid, but this time around, I can't wait to see how they rescue Nick from getting shipped off (I assume they will). It's a great set-up all around...and it was perfectly balanced this time around. Best part was the very last title card...lol, I guess we all knew.... And Rosalee's "you eat two pieces" speech was soooooooooo cute...it's great that they finally got the opportunity to seize the moment. I also loved Nick's stunned face when Juliette said: "Do you want to tell me about it?" Yes, Nick, that's what people do in a healthy relationship, they tell each other about their troubles at work, because sharing helps. You do it with Monroe all the time, so don't be shy. Either way, I'm now hopeful for the third season.....
If Nick wakes up in the same condition as the other zombies, I don't know how he would be able to defend himself. I wonder if he'd be functional enough to tell the royals that Rosalee has the key.
Like your idea of seeing more of the resistance through this.
Great episode. Looking forward to how it all resolves. Wondering though if anyone noticed that when Rosalee stashed the key in her floor; that she also has an Austrian passport and some cash hidden. I'm not sure if they've ever fully established where Rosalee is from but given that the passport and cash are hidden; the it appears that they are setting up a double cross now that Rosalee has the key.
Maybe its from her past with her family's ties to the resistance but then why show it? There's a general rule in television that everything that happens is deliberate. Its planned. Why take the time to show Rosalee revealing a hiding space at all? They could have have had Rosalee go off camera and come back and say to Nick its done. Its hidden. But they took the time to deliberately show us the hiding spot and show that there is money and papers and two passports. They're cooking something up and I expect by mid season next year there will be a reveal or a double cross of some kind.
If they want some thing from Nick they're going to have to revive him themselves. Hell, even if they just want to torture him they'd have to revive him for that as well.
That was an awesome finale, Renard is going to save them, he was following his brother he's definitely team Nick he trusts him better than his brother that was a very cleaver closing credit very cute now to wait for the new season!!
I think they only zombied Nick to incapacitate him to transport him (looking dead, as is usual in the first stage of the zombification, was their method). Being "the royals", they probably have a cure already waiting back home in the creepy Old- World castle, which they'd use to revive him and persuade him to join their side or die. If not, I don't see how a zombied Grimm would be helpful in their cause.
You guys both brought up great points, which I was wondering myself. It was so obviously a trap. But Nick just kept going deeper into said trap. And yes, why climb to the zombie-spit wesen, when you could've got him with a crossbow or something?
Yeah, Nick inherited a RV load of "Wesen Pest Control Weapons" and he almost never uses them. Now that Juliette knows about Nick he could have taken time to grab a longer range weapon. Did he even have his gun? I lost track when Baron Samedi lured him into that obvious trap.
Supernatural: Dean to Crowley "We've gone international", lol. I agree and Renard will likely get some of Team Grimm to go with him (undercover, of course).
I like that idea. I hope Rosalee is re-upping her activity in the resistance and is not on the Royal's payroll (as a spy). Rosalee putting herself in more danger could be why she and Monroe's relationship gets shakier if he wants to keep her safe on not conducting guerilla warfare.
Loved the finale! This show has been so much fun to watch this season. Finally, getting into all the Royal stuff and getting everyone on board ( Hank, Monroe, Juliette and Rosalee) except for poor Wu, who even gets bit by that zombie!
Okay, so Nick did go after the bad guy alone but it worked out pretty cool when he gets caught off guard looking in the coffin just before the vesen guy sprays him.
My favorite part had to be when tptb gave us that fun, little message at the end! It's great to have a show to watch on television that plays around and includes the viewers in on some fun! I LOVED it!!!
That's another irritating point! YES! He DID have his gun! I remember Nick aiming it into the darkness of that shipping container he was lured into. And yet, didn't use it. Unfortunately, there were a lot of plotholes in this episode.
Thanks for reminding me. As Bruce_F says frequently TV shows have their heroes do (from the viewers' vantage point) face-palmingly "stupid, but heroic deeds" to advance the plot. *IF* just gunning down Baron Samedi would have drawn more Zombies to his "position" (but away from his friends which was the point of Nick's maneuver) even *IF* he had a more silent weapon like a crossbow, killing Samedi was not the plot point, trapping and "zombifying" Nick for transport was. Like you and others I just wish the end result didn't make Nick look so foolish instead of "heroically reckless".
Yes! The Indiana Jones method of dealing with a bad guy. Hadn't he also figure out how the poison was spread? There was all kinds of dumb at that point. It's one of those moments where IMHO the writers can get the result they want if they work just a little bit harder. In this case, it wouldn't have required that much more work to tighten that up.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
So I'm thinking that Nick will get shipped to Austria, and Renard will pretend to accept Eric's invitation to rescue him.
ReplyDeletefavorite moment: ''Come on you knew this was coming''
ReplyDeleteXD HEY!!!

Good theory, i would love that :)
ReplyDeleteI am guessing Renard will be ally to Nick! Too bad Hank isn't there to help them out
ReplyDeletethat was funny interesting and different
ReplyDeleteThat would be amazing. Renard would have to take Rosalee's antidote along.
ReplyDeleteI love Nick, but I have to say, if he was sharp enough to realize he'd been lured into a trap in the first place, why did he let himself get deeper and deeper into that trap?

I couldn't help throwing the hair question in there. That 'do was buggin' me. :)

ReplyDeleteGreat final episode!! ....how long do we have to wait until the next season airs?? Does anyone know?
ReplyDeleteGreat final episode!! i like it

Or maybe Renard could bring them along undercover as his wesen staff.
ReplyDeleteAgree. So happy to see Nick learning to communicate with Juliette. Maybe if he asks again, this time she'll say yes to the engagement ring.
ReplyDeleteThose are two good looking brothers, hair or not.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing it won't start in august this year cause there's no Olympic games and will have to wait 'til september
ReplyDeleteGreat episode. Looking forward to how it all resolves. ReplyDeleteNoooo! That would break Monroe's heart! She has family ties to the resistance. Maybe it's related to her past?
ReplyDeleteMaybe its from her past with her family's ties to the resistance but then why show it? There's a general rule in television that everything that happens is deliberate. Its planned. Why take the time to show Rosalee revealing a hiding space at all? They could have have had Rosalee go off camera and come back and say to Nick its done. Its hidden. ReplyDeleteHmmm. It could be a misdirect or an introduction to another backstory for Rosalee. They may go the route of a double-cross, but I hope they don't.
ReplyDeleteIf they want some thing from Nick they're going to have to revive him themselves. Hell, even if they just want to torture him they'd have to revive him for that as well.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'd be really upset if they did that.
ReplyDeleteThe actress who plays Rosalee though did say her relationship with Monroe next season might not be so perfect. :I
I just hope whatever happens it does not break them up for good, if something happens.
Not awesome, but great episode. The last scene was good and the message at the end was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI like how the showrunners play with the audience.
ReplyDeleteIt's what I think so too, we are heading towards the Royals!
ReplyDeleteWell, we kinda did.
ReplyDeleteThat was an awesome finale, Renard is going to save them, he was following his brother he's definitely team Nick he trusts him better than his brother that was a very cleaver closing credit very cute now to wait for the new season!!
ReplyDeleteI doubt that Nick will tell them anything...especially not that Rosalee has the key.He wouldn't put his friends in danger.
ReplyDeletePoor. Boring and slow. Cliche cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteI miss it already.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. I actually really like that, I love Renard's character. I only hope the Austria they show us isn't too shabby.
ReplyDeleteSounds great
ReplyDeleteI hope we see a lot more of the Resistance and of the different Royal families, that would be very interesting
ReplyDeleteWe are of like mind, chris! Renard & Nick's buddies can team up to help Nick. I'd totally look forward to Team Grimm in Austria.
ReplyDeleteI think they only zombied Nick to incapacitate him to transport him (looking dead, as is usual in the first stage of the zombification, was their method). ReplyDeletePlease do explain how being zombified and shipped out of the country in a coffin with falsified documents is clichéd.
ReplyDeleteHero does something dumb and is put in danger. Cliffhanger! In the premier, oh look, he got free and is fine.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I doubt he'll be free and fine in the premiere. Second, bad decisions make good drama. If the main character did everything right all the time it would be boring and the stories would go nowhere. Third, and finally, what you describe (Hero does something dumb and is put in danger) isn't a cliché. It's a trope and there's a big difference.
ReplyDeleteFine, the cliffhanger is an overused trope for season finales.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a valid point that I'd say many TV shows are guilty of.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Nick inherited a RV load of "Wesen Pest Control Weapons" and he almost never uses them. Now that Juliette knows about Nick he could have taken time to grab a longer range weapon. Did he even have his gun? I lost track when Baron Samedi lured him into that obvious trap.

i lost it when the zombie punched the woman in the face and grabbed the other one and threw her into traffic. That shit was so ridiculous omg haha

ReplyDeleteThat last image got me. It was not in any of my guesses about what this ep would be given last weeks promos.
ReplyDeleteI think that's a great theory.
ReplyDeleteI definitely did....yet I reacted as though I didn't. They still got the wail of frustration.
ReplyDeleteYes! The Indiana Jones method of dealing with a bad guy. Hadn't he also figure out how the poison was spread? There was all kinds of dumb at that point.
