  1. If I could choose 5 it would be a very difficult choice. Since I can only choose 1, the winner by far for me is Tommy dying. It was a heroic death and while I will miss the character terribly, I am glad he went out so well.

  2. Agree so much. I rarely cry at TV but even I got misty eyed in the rewatch. Brilliant scene that punches me in the gut every time.

  3. Two scenes made me cry in this episode, Tommy dying and Quentin saying goodbye.

I also loved the scene of Felicity and Quentin and the scene of Diggle and Felicity refusing to leave Oliver's side.

I wish I could choose all scenes but since I can only choose one, I had to choose Tommy dying.

As much as I'll miss him, I'm glad I didn't have to watch him turning evil and his character getting destroyed. After loving him at the beginning, the last episodes made me start to hate him, but then he did the right thing and made me love him again.
Even when I disliked Tommy's actions, I loved Colin Donnell's acting and am going to miss seeing him in this show.

  4. Could you please categorize this poll under Arrow?

  5. Tommy is the only character I have never disliked or even thought bad of in Arrow so far, so I too am glad that he isn't going the Harry Osborne route although I will miss him terribly next season.

  6. "Diggle refuses to let Oliver take on Merlyn by himself and Felicity refuses to leave until the job's over." I LOVED that scene. Watching how Oliver reacts when Diggle tells him he's not alone anymore is really moving. The scene where Tommy dies is so moving too :'( This episode was really great!

  7. I will miss him too now, but while I'm sad he won't be there, I'm also glad I won't have to watch him taking the Harry Osborne route. Because of that his death left me with sadness mixed with relief, which is something that not a lot of shows have made me feel.
Also, after all the talk that the show would have to keep a Merlyn alive and can't kill them both, they chose the unexpected route and left me wondering what's next.

  8. Why i dont see the earthquake scene in the list?? i think that is my favourite scene, not a lot of shows have the courage to do what arrow's done... mostly because is a tv show i didnt expexct a scene like that with the glades destroyed, but they did it so... they have my respect

  9. The earthquake scene made the second cut but it just narrowly missed making it to the final. I started out with over 30 scenes and had to make the list smaller. I too loved the earthquake visual effects. It was far better than anything I expected.

  10. Production teams always say something like that but this time the finale lived up o the hype and even exceeded it. I was shocked 3 times last night - Moira's confession and arrest, Tommy's death, and the fact that there were 2 devices. All of it played out brilliantly.

  11. This is currently the number one show I want to return quickly because I am so engrossed in the way they left off. Kudos all around to the cast and crew. Everyone brought their A game this episode.

  12. I know!! hiatus is going to be painful! it already is lol

    ReplyDelete
  13. It's especially painful because they plan a time jump. I want to see what happens to everyone NOW and not just what happens to them in five months.

    ReplyDelete
  14. yeah! i'm not happy about that either!! :(

  15. It is going to be painful waiting until we get a premiere date. Then it will be even more painful counting down the days until it gets here. Such is the sorry state of summer hellatus. It never gets easy.

  16. This is a harsh poll because there were no bad scenes, all of them were absolutely brilliant. But if I have to choose one, I went for Tommy's death. But honestly, I could've picked any of them. Best episode of the show, best finale I've seen, and I'm contemplating whether or not it's the best episode of TV that I've EVER SEEN.

  17. Best episode of TV EVER is stretching it for me but it is certainly on the very short list for best episode I've seen this season. For me almost every scene was pitch perfect and put together it was a beyond amazing episode. It showed me exactly what Arrow is capable of and I can't wait to see them continue that next year.

This was a tough decision. The scene with Diggle and Felicity where they refuse to let him do this alone was probably my favorite, because it showed how much has changed for Oliver since the beginning. However, I voted for the scene between Tommy and Malcolm where he plays the message from Tommy's mom. I chose that one based purely on John Barrowman's acting. He went from trying to explain (somewhat calmly) to completely flipping out in an instant. He won't get an award for this role, but he certainly deserves it. If only he was coming back next season... Gosh darn it, Barrowman.

  19. All the scenes with Tommy were amazing, but the one where he dies just broke me.

  20. Agreed. I even loved Colin's acting in the drunk scene which was my least favorite Tommy scene. That man knows how to sell a scene whether he is speaking or not.

  21. I liked how it felt like all 3 members of Team Arrow were on equal footing and had a vital role to play. They were partners in it together. I hope it stays that way next season.

Definitely, me too. And I'm always up for more Felicity.

    ReplyDelete
  23. More Felicity is the answer to everything good.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'd like more Felicity and more Diggle personally. I'd like to see both of them getting more screen time and to see their backgrounds explored next season.

As a Lauliver shipper, I'm insulted that scene wasn't added, especially because Stephen Amell was fabulous in it.
That said, and taking into account I could only chose one, I have to go with Tommy's death (which would still be my favourite even if the previously mentioned Lauliver scene had made into the poll). Although, every Tommy scene was great. Colin Donnell will sorely missed.

I loved every moment of the episode. It was all incredibly acted and the fight scenes were amazing. But I couldn't vote for tommy dying, despite how amazing that scene was, because it was just so sad. I really liked tommy.
I voted for another tommy scene, where Malcolm reveals his whole plan. The acting from both of them in that scene was just superb and I'm gonna miss both Malcolm and tommy next season (assuming Malcolm really is dead)

  27. I loved almost every scene from this episode except Thea and Roy kissing. For the first time I connected with Laurel and Oliver. Her nervousness and relief during that conversation was obvious (Thank God).

There was lots of amazing scenes. Tommy dying, he realizing his dad is nuts, Diggle and felicity refusing to leave Oliver, Laurel screaming Tommy thinking back almost every one of them.

But I voted for other. I loved the scene where Felicity sat crying in the arrow cave alone. Somehow without any dialogues that scene brought home the devastation happening in glades. She really made me feel scared and sad.

This episode had really tight script and great acting. Congratulations for team Arrow

  28. For my #1 I had to go with Ollie's first kill with a bow on Fyers. It's difficult to choose a 2nd, 3rd or 4th because the episode was just epic all the way through.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Poor Tommy ! His death was just so awful.
Why didn't they kill Laurel instead?
There's one thing that's a little unclear to me though, Oliver told Tommy he didn't kill his dad but it looked to me as if Merlyn senior died on that roof, didn't he?

  30. They said in several post interviews Malcolm is dead and also said we'd get an answer to that at the season opener.

  31. I really really loved this ep ... hard to choose a favorite.
I think it would be easier to pick the scene I hated most ... can we start with why in the hell Laurel is trying to rescue paper from the glades. I get it, her job is important to her but paper? Really? What year is this supposed to be? Isn't there a scanner anywhere in that office and a hard drive you can grab? I don't know why that bothers me so much ... I think I would have had an easier time with that whole scene if she were there backing up her hard drive to some external server. Paper ... pft.

  32. Ha! I had the same reaction. In the Arrow podcast this week, one of my biggest nitpicks is that for people who live above a fault line, they have absolutely no sense of earthquake safety. Grabbing files? Staying in your chair instead of getting under the desk or in a door frame? For me the big one was everyone trying to run outside. Anyone who has ever done an earthquake drill in school knows that if you are inside you stay inside. If you are outside, you stay outside. Bah! Good thing the majority of the episode was perfect so I could pretty much gloss over these things.

  33. I've been to a real court recently and I was shocked to discover how much paper they use in RL. We had to sign every single page in 6(!) copies. Those copies were provided to the clerk for their signatures and from there to the judge (that had no computer on her high desk and actualky verified those pages were signed..)

I can't imagine how much paperwork they probably have in a full trial that includes witnesses' statements, evidence, police records, etc. so I personally didn't find this scene unreal.

Also, I have to add that Guggenheim is a lawyer himself and he should know how courts work today in the States.

  34. Agree ... that was the one thing that made me wonder but overall, I loved the finale.

  35. It's kind of crazy ... we bought a new house last year and did all of the purchase contracts online but at the closing I wore a blister on my finger signing page after page. I guess it could have been worse ... she could have been grabbing the dreaded MICROFICHE.

  36. I understand your plight about Tommy's death. It was very hard for me to take, especially when I never expected it.

  37. One of the best episodes I have seen in a long time. I also loved the Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity scene, mostly because for the first time I really believed that Oliver saw Diggle and Felicity as equal partners.

    ReplyDelete
  38. yes! I'm so excited to see what happens next!
