TVLine has learned exclusively that Cristin Milioti, who was unmasked as the titular mom in last week’s season finale, will take the title of series regular during the comedy’s upcoming ninth and final season.
You might lack creativity or be prone to exaggeration if you think having Season 9 last for the wedding weekend is the stupidest idea ever. (Unless you think that having Season 9 last for just the wedding is a smarter move than having it last for the entire wedding weekend for starters.)
It is the stupidest idea, though. Having the wedding last for an entire season means that we'll have another Barney/Robin filled season. And objectively, it has last too long now. Season 9, HIMYM's last season, should've been Ted's and Ted's only.
I say let's give them a chance. If you are someone who's stuck with them this long - there's no reason to not at least give them a shot, whether you approve or not.
You take it like it is a fact of life that Ted could only have met the mother at that wedding, i take it as sloppy writing and a poor choice of storylines. They could have had him meet her countless other ways.
It is a fact within the show that Ted believes he could have only met the mother at that wedding, and that it was only at that moment that he was ready to meet the mother. That's not sloppy writing and a poor choice of storylines. That's an accurate representation of Ted's mindset and character.
Agree completely. HIMYM has pretty much been the freakin' Barney/Robin half-hour for ages now, and having another entire season pretty much still solely focused on them with occasional jokes from the mother? Nope, doesn't cut it for me.
The more I think on this next season the more I dislike this idea. They are completely copping out with the romance. Yes, the show is called How I MET Your Mother, but the only way they can convince me that they belong together is to actually SHOW me how they fall in love and all the antics Ted goes through to woo her. If they pretty much end the show with them meeting and an assurance that they love each other...no, don't buy that. I need some proof that he feels more strongly about this random woman than Zoey and Stella and Victoria and most importantly Robin. Having her talk to Ted's friends does NOT count. Plus, I've dealt with Barney/Robin long enough without being stuck in their wedding.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
So I'm guessing they are changing the intro then? Maybe revolve it around the weeding weekend
ReplyDeleteAs expected. She's adorable but, more importantly, I hope she's funny.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Wonder if the intro will change now because I was wondering about that earlier.
ReplyDeleteDoubt it.
ReplyDeleteAs expected.

ReplyDeleteThis again?
ReplyDeleteI don't think so.

ReplyDeleteWhat?
ReplyDeleteIt's an Arrested Development reference.

I don't think you understood my point.

ReplyDeleteYou're still not getting what i'm saying. The only reason why it is a fact within the show is because they chose to make it a fact within the show.

ReplyDeleteLOL - why shouldn't it be a fact within a show?
ReplyDeleteI don't like this idea at all - the length of the season is probably gonna be close to the actual length of the wedding weekend :(
ReplyDeleteWonder how they are going to fill an entire season with the wedding weekend but excited anyway!!!
