So in the squab episode Beckett got upset with Castle because he was behaving like a child and now she is the one doing so? What about the "where are going" question at the end of the episode? If they want us to believe that she is questioning their future together and the evolution of their relationship, why is it that right in the beginning of the following episode this happens? If she wants a more mature Castle, then why is she being childish herself now? I love when they play with each other and prank each other, seriously, love them together and want them together forever, but this show has been confusing me a little much lately.
She doesn't want a more mature Castle, she just wants him to not take her for granted and she want them to talk about their future as a couple. I don't see how this is the same thing... Last episode, Castle was ignoring her and playing video games. In the sneak peek, Beckett is pranking Castle...she's playing WITH him...
Agree. Continuity and the Castle 'Powers that Be' do not go together. They consistently leave follow-up to the viewers imagination, which I feel is a weak link in the otherwise strong Castle chain.
One thing I learnt about watching Castle is that continuity doesn't exist much in the show. ;)
But Kate wasn't upset he was behaving like a child or wanting a mature Castle. She was upset that he is taking her for granted (which is ridiculous in my opinion).
Vaughn was basically the grown-up version of Castle, no playfulness, no childishness, and Beckett showed some interest in him, so I think it's safe to say that she does want Castle to be a bit more serious, more mature sometimes so that they can move on with their relationship, so that they can take another step together. I'm not saying she doesn't like or need his goofy side, I'm just saying that in certain situations she also needs the more serious, more adult side of him. And so far she hasn't seen it many times.
For Castle to stop taking Beckett for granted he needs to man up. To become more mature, to become more aware of what's happening around him, to stop living in his fantasy world and open his eyes to the real world, the world where people can hurt and get hurt because of wrongful attitudes, words, gestures. Sorry but this is what I think. :)
I never said they don't need fun, with what they see and the work they do on a daily basis of course they need their fun moments, I'm just saying that sometimes people want/need more than that, and in the end of squab episode Kate wanted more, then this happens in the beginning of the immediate episode, so of course there are people who are going to get confused with this, who want to know how did she get from there to here, like me. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. You and I are not the same person so of course we have different opinions, and there's nothing wrong with that either. :)
See there's where I blame the writers. The thing about Castle is that whenever something big happens in an episode, it doesn't get mentioned at all in future episodes - unless it's a finale. It gets swept under the rug like it never happened. The kidnapping, Tyson, Ryan's and Jenny's pregnancy and now this...
So in order to accept this, I just assume some time has past and Beckett has temporary let go of her concerns Or! Still came before this episode and not TS&TQ.
The first video was so hilarious!!!! Oh Castle, you've found your better half I think it's funny how (in the third video), unlike Beckett or Espo, Ryan seems to agree with the "rise of the machines" theory :D :D :D :D
Psychologically speaking every person when confronted with an issue reacts to it differently. Some ppl confront it outright, others do not. They wait and see if it works out itself. We cant really say which one is the right way to go but i can see how ppl can find it annoying when ppl dnt deal with it outrightly and let it just be. However i do not think its unrealistic. It does happen in real life. As for Castle and Beckett, they are like that. They do not confront things until they are left with no choice and they have too. Yes they both have grown a lot but some things do not change like their defense mechanisms. So i think this is in character for them. Also Castle has always been episodic. Its just they way it has always been. Dont get why ppl have an issue with it now. Well i hope you can work it out for u somehow because it really has been a great season IMO. Cheers :)
It is pretty awesome when "rise of the machines" isn't the most absurd theory a main character has believed in on a show (bigfoot, zombies, ghosts, ice bullet, aliens, etc.). The Castle writers allways make me chuckle.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
HA, omg, KATE - she's adorable, and they are MADE for each other...that prank? Right up is alley of something he'd do.<3

ReplyDeleteI get ya. But does that mean they can't have fun with each other? I think that's what is being shown here.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things wrong with this storyline and I think that's why both of us see this scene differently...

Yeah, I agree with you, I was just saying that in this particular case, It wasn't his childishness that bothered her.

I agree, they BOTH need to work on it. Not one more than the other
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Summer Glau will guest star if there's terminator references
ReplyDelete"The machines have achieved consciousness. And they are pissed"
ReplyDelete"If that was actually a killing tank, you bailed!!!"
Hahahahahahaha
I totally agree with you :)
ReplyDeleteI agree
ReplyDeleteOMG! Your comment made me LOL! Thank you! XD
