  1. WTF? I don't really know how to react, because:
    1. Usually it's the other way around (brit series being remade for the US audience);
    2. Why so many years later?
    3. Not sure the show can really work without the actual Ray Romano.
    Good luck to them, I guess.

    They've remade the show in other countries...I think in Russia.

  3. After I saw the russian TBBT "remake" I was pretty much freaked out... I'm just trying to picture the russian version of Everybody Loves Raymond and it doesn't look pretty in my imagination

  4. Oh my God, Catherine Tate! I don't care what show is being remade... and Everybody Loves Raymond was bad, Ray Romano is a bad comedian for me at least, but I'll watch whatever Catherine Tate's in, so...

  5. Well.. US television has more networks, so we get more adaptations, but I wouldn't say it's 'usually the other way around'. That 70's Show and Law & Order were remade in the UK without even writing original scripts (although Law & Order eventually did, IIRC).

    As for the show, I don't think you need to re-do the characters and their personalities exactly the same. The concept, a couple moving next door to the husbands over-bearing parents and man-child brother, would probably be better served by new personalities.
