This would have been a fantastic episode if it wasn't for Sophie B Hawkins. Nothing against the musician but it was too cheesy and predictable. That wasn't and should never be Community.
Community has had overly saccharine endings since Season 1. That's just part of what makes the show Community. I would understand the complaint better if your comment was directed against the musician rather than the scenario.
The endings where somewhat cheesy but they used to never be what you would expect such as pierce and the red dragon lady actually getting together at the end because they both want to use each other and they are both racist, Pierce being the villain actually helped fat neil overcome his suicidal thoughts, A ghost took the pen, Abed is the only sane one, ROXANNE-darkest timeline. They were never blatantly obvious like "Oh hey that musician that Britta lied about actually showed up" there wasn't any twist there, it was what we were expecting. I feel the need to point out I don't dislike the show or hate it or anything I kind of feel like a parent does towards a kid who misbehaves "Im not angry at you I'm disappointed".
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Pierce helping Britta and telling Jeff to ease up on her. It was a rare moment when he seemed like a legitimate character and not a cartoon.
