-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Sunday 4/02/12:

----------
-Winners:
“NCAA Basketball” (CBS), “60 Minutes” (CBS), “The Amazing Race” (CBS)
-Losers (Excluding Repeats):
“Red Widow” (ABC)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown:
With 64 percent of last night’s line-up in repeats, the numbers took a tumble year-to-year on this Easter Sunday. CBS led the evening, besting distant No. 2 NBC by a considerable 140 percent. But the individual program results for CBS are estimated due to Duke vs. Louisville on the Regional Final in the ongoing “NCAA Basketball Tournament” bleeding into primetime time by 41-minutes. Here are the estimated results for the Eye network by half-hour:
CBS/Sunday
7:00 p.m. “NCAA Basketball”: 10.8 rating/21 share (#1)
7:30 p.m. “NCAA Basketball” / “60 Minutes”: 9.2/17 (#1)
8:00 p.m. “60 Minutes”: 8.0/13 (#1)
8:30 p.m. “60 Minutes” / “The Amazing Race”: 6.7/11 (#1)
9:00 p.m. “The Amazing Race”: 6.2/10 (#1)
9:30 p.m. “The Amazing Race” / “The Good Wife”: 6.2/10 (#1)
10:00 p.m. “The Good Wife”: 6.2/10 (#1)
10:30 p.m. “The Good Wife” / “The Mentalist” (R): 4.8/ 8 (#1)
Although both “The Good Wife” and “The Mentalist” have been picked-up for next season, CBS would be wise to hold one back until midseason and focus on strengthening its waning Sunday line-up.
Next was NBC, which filled this final Sunday in March with three repeat hours of “The Voice” (7 p.m.: #2, 2.3/ 4; 8 p.m.: #2: 3.2/ 6; 9 p.m.: #3, 3.2/ 5), and a one-hour edition of “Celebrity Apprentice,” which finished second with a 3.4/ 6 at 10 p.m. One year earlier, three hours of “Celebrity Apprentice” was notably stronger at a 4.6/ 7 in the overnights on 4/01/12. Like last fall’s edition of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” “Celebrity Apprentice” is not benefiting by this so-called all-star edition.
Elsewhere, ABC opened with an encore of classic 1994 animated holiday special “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, which scored a mere 1.6/ 3 at 7 p.m. (#3). Next was a repeat of “Once Upon a Time” at an also dismal 1.6/ 3 at 8 p.m. (#3), which did not benefit original episodes of lead-outs “Revenge” (#2: 3.9/ 6) and struggling “Red Widow” (#3: 2.7/ 5) from 9-11 p.m. Comparably, “Revenge” and “Red Widow” slipped, on average, by 39 percent from year-ago occupants “Desperate Housewives” (6.3/ 9 on 4/01/12) and “GCB” (4.6/ 8).
Fox capped off the night with repeats of “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 0.9/ 2), “The Cleveland Show” (#4: 1.1/ 2), “The Simpsons” (#3: 1.7/ 3), another episode of “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 1.4/ 2), “Family Guy” (#4: 2.0/ 3) and “American Dad” (#4: 1.8/ 3) from 7-10 p.m.

scared for revenge
ReplyDeleteCBS... No words for the late airing. Thanks God, TM was a repeat.
ReplyDeleterevenge :/
ReplyDeleteOuch for Revenge... ;(
ReplyDeleteI really think that the good wife is one of the best shows on CBS. They would be crazy to cancel one of their biggest award-winning shows. The Mentalist is also a very good show. If CBS would just air these shows at their actual scheduled times instead of up to an hour late, then maybe their ratings would be better.
ReplyDeleteRevenge will be slaughtered today as the three biggest dramas on tv had finales or premieres.
ReplyDeleteThe Bible, the Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, hopefully it get at least manage a 1.5 in the demo.
Both were renewed last week. Sunday time starts on CBS are not going to change due to NFL, Golf and basketball. All those programs bring in coveted and rare demos to the network, so CBS is willing to let a couple of shows suffer.
ReplyDeleteThat and OuaT was a repeat and it was Easter. Hopefully it will at least be able to bounce back from this.
ReplyDeleteIts actually not too bad and it will most likely adjust up to a 1.6 in the finals. Considering the pathetic lead in, the holiday and facing stiff competition from Game of Thrones premiere, The Bible finale, The Walking Dead, The Amazing Race and The Good Wife it did pretty decently. With all these shows gone, Revenge should be able to rise to the low 2.0's.
ReplyDeleteOuch, the repeat of OuaT was a 0.6. Hopefully Revenge does better when it comes back.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this. Revenge did what could be expected out of all the terrible circumstances to which it was thrown
