  1. It was awesome! For me it was like only 20 minutes had passed when the episode ended! I need the following episode NOW!

  2. Nice for Ghost to make an appearance!
Another change from the books I enjoy honestly. As long as The Slayer does come later....

    - Giants!

    - List of things it takes to get Kristofer Hivju into character as Tormund.
    Step 1. Wake up.
    The end.

    - More brothel scenes!
Bronn and Podrick make this one work though...

I love the longer than normal scenes between Tyrion and Cersei, Davos and Saan and Tyrion and Tywin. IT makes for a better flow to have a few longer scenes mixed in with shorter cutaway scenes. The pace of the episode felt better to me than most episodes the last 2 years.

Sad that we do not get Arstan Whitebeard, but glad Barristan Selmy made his appearance and I did enjoy how they handled his introduction.

Great set up to the season!

  3. Welcome Back GOT! I've missed you and certainly didn't disappoint with your first episode. Let's Go next Sunday!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. overhyped is the best word to describe this show, after this premiere

    ReplyDelete
  5. Really bad joke? This show is still vastly UNDER-APPRECIATED! Great premiere!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think I'm an action junkie, cause I was really really bored when it finally finished.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Have you watched the previous seasons?
If so the pace of the episode should have been no surprise to you WHATSOEVER.

Game of Thrones is NOT an action series.
    Thank god!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yes, I watched the previous seasons and yes, I know it's not an action series but every episode on season 1 had something interesting going on and the pace was fine, now it got slower than also overhyped The Walking Dead.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ah, ok.

Action will pick up, but they need to set things up in the season premiere more than have action since there is just so much going on I guess. The premieres are always a little bit slower.

Personally I love TWD and GoT for the way they let the show breath and live in the small moments - the inaction that shows the characters mood and feelings. Same reason I think Breaking Bad and Mad Men (and others like them) are so good I guess.

Different strokes for different folks as they say....
Hope it gets better for you.

  10. I was just messing with the guy's nickname and I don't really care about action, for instance I was watching Les Revenants and it has the slowest pace ever but it was SO interesting that I definetely want more. My problem with GOT is that it has so much potential and it never goes anywhere and nothing really happened since season 1.

  11. Just remembered I loved one scene changed from the books. When Jon tells Mance his reasons for wanting to join they used him witnessing Craster giving a babyboy to a White Walker instead of being bastard-born.

It felt so heartfelt and real and more believable to me honestly.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Great, not awesome. No Arya or Bran but I understand why. Great setup for the season and it's only going to get better (yes I've read the book). ;)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well you're a dumb cunt. No surprise you don't like the show. Stick to network shit you fucking moron.

    ReplyDelete
  14. What can you expect from a wetback who watches Glee ?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Uncalled for.

    ReplyDelete
  16. HBO released the promo photos from the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  17. That scene should happen later I hope!
    Maybe in Episode 3x04....

    ReplyDelete
  18. They better have at least a real battle against the White Walkers later. Sad that they had to cut this scene like they did in Season 1, but better than what comes later.

If I were Bronn with his traits, I would have threatened Pod as well. lol

Yeah, now with the splitting they can extend some scenes with more dialogue. I know this will piss of some TV watchers, but I love the writing and the acting, especially the Tywin/Tyrion bonding scene.

As it was mentioned before, in a book you can hide Selmy's real alter ego, but they were clever to change it.

    ReplyDelete
  19. quick thinking on his feet. *thumbsUp*

  20. A ship from Volantis in King's Landing,huh?I doubt this is a red-herring...Watch out,Robb!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Good start maybe not amazing but that is to come. Love Margaery a whole lot in this episode, she is playing the PR game with the commoners and that is a very smart move. Really glad they revealed Selmy this early on, they could not have dragged it out like the books as the audience knows what he looks like.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Finally the wait is over.
I really don't get why Tyrion is still loyal to his family. If my family would treat me like his sister and father treat him, I would betray them to the Starks in an instant. They are at least loyal to the people that risk their lives serve them, while the Lannisters are busy betraying each other. Or, I would say: "You don't won't me as part of the family? Fine. Pay me, give me a castle and you never have to see me again"
I'm not sure if an army of mindless zombies is such a good idea. Even if there are 8000 of them. They wouldn't just fight a battle, they would slaughter everyone in their way, even unarmed women and children. Besides, they don't have the brain to coordinate an attack or to improvise during a battle. And both often not only makes a difference between life and death, it also decides on the outcome of the battle.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, Ghost! I love the wolves and I want one. Which is weird, since I'm normally more a cat person.
More brothel scenes? You're definitely a guy. So predictable.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Margaery is trying her best to convince Joffrey she's the best bride for him. Stupid, but she'll learn. And well, at least someone has to do something. Since the Lannisters rather kill babies and execute people for no reason, someone has to do something to stop another war or rebellion.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I thought it was ok/great ....not a 100%

    ReplyDelete
  26. So happy its back, and i loved it! Oh i watched S2 before the S3 premiere and i had forgotten how much i hated Joffrey until the battle at Blackwater when Cersi had Joffrey brought back inside. What a friggin COWARD Joffrey is..he should be skinned alive, yikes!

Poor Tyrion,my heart broke listening to Tywin speak that way to him.I honestly don't understand how he can live with his family.Cersi has such little regard for him and its obvivous Tywin feels the same.Give him want is legally his and be done with it. With all the crap that he has had to deal with his first thought is saving his family, always his family and they s**t on him, they don't deserve him! Yep,i like Tyrion A LOT,ha!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I voted great! SO NICE to have GOT back, but this episode was def a catch-up/set-up episode.

Margaery Tyrell def got more interesting. She seems a pretty big threat to Cersei, but I'm surprised Joffery is feeding into her ways.

And finally, to meet the King beyond the Wall! Mance seems like a really interesting character and I'm looking forward to see how this all fairs for Jon Snow.

Glad we got to see a bit of Dany and Jorah and The Dragons! The translator scene was fun (but oh, more killing of babies?!) and the child-looking warlock and that weird insect-scorpion-type creature gave me the creeps! But what a surprise to see Barristan Selmy! Don't know if hes honorable, but I'd like to think he is.

Glad Bronn is still around too!

Was sad not to see Arya, Gendry, Bran, Osha, Rickon, Brienne or Jamie, the Hound, but I'm sure next weeks will remedy that!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Agreed! He does everything for his family and in return he gets kicked in the a** time and time again.Give him what is rightfully, legally his and let him live his life.

    ReplyDelete
  29. "Poor Tyrion,my heart broke listening to Tywin speak that way to him.I honestly don't understand how he can live with his family..."

Agreed. I'm not sure how much more he can take!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Awwww, hate toward Joffrey is also an emotion. Better than if you wouldn't care for him at all. lol

I guess without his status as a part of the Lannister family, Tyrion would get a bunchload of other problems. Plus he Mostly can deal with his Family's bad behavior towards him. PS: It won't get better anytime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think that is what makes Lannisters so interesting through, especially with Cersei and Tyrion, because they care to a point of proving themselves strong and worthy, most notably to each other. I think really Tywin is to blame for their over competitiveness and lust for mind games, but it makes them stand out as a house! Lions seem to like a challenge!

    ReplyDelete
  32. didn't you forget to mention The Mountain or Tommen? Dunno if he was at the dinner scene. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm with you in general anyways. People are so impatient they just want stuff to happen all the time. I think it's so much more beneficial and not superficial to build the story. This isn't just about war and politics, it's about the people caught in the middle of it. It's about their emotions, the atmosphere, and feeling the moods of change.

I like most of the same shows you do, so it makes sense we would feel the same about certain kinds of story telling. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think a lot has happened, but there are just a ton of characters to go through and if you breeze threw it too fast, no one will know who anyone is and won't be able to relish and think about the scenes and characters and why they were written that way. I do agree that season 2 had a slower pace, but sometimes seasons have to bridges to get to other more fresh, action orientated/thought provoking seasons. This world is huge and I feel like they have done a good job at introducing characters and places having main characters begin their journey's in a non confusing way. 10 episodes will be nothing where there might be 70-100 by the time we're done.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Don't count on him staying that way forever! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Good start, but some of the problems with the third book--which I thought had a lot of great stuff but also dragged on a lot longer than it needed to--are evident here. The biggest thing is that by now, there are just so damn many characters in play, it's hard to give them their due. In the book, literally hundreds of pages could pass between character appearances; they're going to have to find ways not to convert that to weeks passing without characgters appearing in the show, but that could lead to some pacing problems. I didn't hate the changes from the book they made here (though Margaery at the orphanage came close), but few seem designed to cut back on this problem.
    Great new credits, though!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't know how stupid it is, not because I think Jofferey is just going to become some angel, but Margaery wants to be queen ('if you play the game of thrones you either live or die'), so this is how she thinks she can (but boy Cersei looked like she was going to kill her at dinner). Margaery is doing exactly what Cersei told Sansa to do in the Battle of Blackwater scenes, but obviously since Margaery already knows these things, she might still pose a threat, as Cersei I think at least liked and had a good hold on Sansa...

    ReplyDelete
  38. I don't quite get Margaery,i don't believe she loves Joffrey,so i assume she just wants to marry him in order to become the queen?
The killing of babies was/is a bit much, but yes,i was happy Dany and Jorah had a good amount of screen time!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yes indeed it is an emotion, every time i see Joffrey i could kill him! :)

Oh noooo, poor Tyrion!! Man, he is a fabulous in GOT,what a fine actor he is~!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Tyrion is hated by his family, not only cause he's a "dwarf", but they also blame him for "killing" his mother at birth. So, I would either say to pay me and get rid of me, or I would swear my loyalty to someone, who would appreciate my brain and loyalty, not only ma looks.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ya she wants to be "the queen", which she revealed to Little Finger last season. As we saw how accommodating she can be...but, I don't know if she knows what she's in for with Joffrey or Cersei, but she is very good at appearing genuine to the cause...

    ReplyDelete
  42. sadly not for long: http://bit.ly/11bSD9G

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well, I agree. With a father like that, they can't show any emotions and compassion. And they have to kill to prove they are worthy of being his children (thanks for a father like that). But one more reason Cersei hates Tyrion is, that he has proven his brain, loyalty and courage, while she didn't. While her precious Joffrey (the king) run away and hide like a scared little girl, Tyrion organized the defence and led soldiers into the battle. And I think it was in S2, when he said to Cersei something like their father being disappointed in her cause she couldn't even stop Joffrey from killing Ned and also let Arya get away.

Don't get me wrong, I like cats. Especially the big ones (so I have no idea why I want a wolf). But what is so great on lions? The males are lying in the shade, while the females hunt. They hut for the easies (weakest) pray. And when they catch something, the males, who did nothing, eat first. Yes, that's a good comparison with the Lannisters. You risk your life to get food, and in the end you get nothing and go to bed hungry.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You mean Tyrion? Why you think he'll change? You got any inside information?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ha! I couldn't bring myself to write the words Devos, Stannis, or Melisandra (Idon't know what it about Melisnadra, but she gets under my skin!) either, let alone also not thinking about the lack of appearance Theon and his whole family of joylessness, which I should have mentioned, because it gave me joy to not see them :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lions are majestic and are symbols of pride and glory. (not always honorable, but tasteful, of vanity, intelligence/resourceful, power/force) 'Kings of jungle', survivors (well at least they use to be)

Honestly I like a lot of characters from a lot of different houses/groups, as there seems to always be an odd-one out anyways! Pretty soon they're all going to have bigger problems: Winter's Coming and so is Fire and Blood! That's what makes it so fun, their world is getting turned up side down by greater forces!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Exactly. If she means it, or just plays it, I don't know. But she does it to convince Joffrey and Cersei that she would make a perfect queen. Wants to prove, that she's useful and can control the masses.

I don't believe for a second that Joffrey would change or become an angel.
And yes, Cersei looked like she could strangle her. I think, the reason she doesn't like her is that she sees Margaery as a therat. She's probably afraid she could manipulate Joffrey and turn him against her. We know that she wants to be the one who manipulates everyone. That is why she prefers Sansa. The girl is easy to control (like she has no brains of her own, as it sometimes seems).

    ReplyDelete
  48. I hated how they had sam not send the ravens. In the book he sends a message back to castle black and i always loved how in the heat of the moment he succeed. Plus ghost should be with Jon like in the books not on the fist of the first men.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Of course they are. They are beautiful and strong. I just think that their way of living reminds me on the Lannisters. Even their relationships inside the family. Like the Tyrion situation again. He organized the defense and almost died in the battle (like a lioness on the hunt), but Tywin was praised as a hero (the alpha male, who gets to eat first). True, he ended the battle and saved the town and castle from being taking over. But without Tyrion he would have come too late. Tyrion gave the town the time his father needed, and now they treat him like garbage. He didn't even got a "Thank you, well done" or anything. I wonder why Tywin even made him Hand in the first place, if he dislikes him like that.

It's not only the winter. Or the war for the throne. Or even Danny with her dragons. I think, there is more going on the other side of the wall than it seems for now.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Nope i don't believe it..it has to be an April Fools joke!

    ReplyDelete
  51. LOL,i'm laughing because i watched all of S2 ONLY yesterday, and i must of missed it for the second time around! :P

Ya,i nearly chocked last night when she said she loved him! As moms say you made your bed,you lie in it....

    ReplyDelete
  52. You have a point, the timing is suspicious. lol

    ReplyDelete
  53. In the books they mention that the people loved marageary we just never saw it because her and joffery aren't POV characters

    ReplyDelete
  54. Do you know if its the same actor playing ser barristan. I thought that he just gained weight but the more i looked at him the more i wondered if it was really the same guy.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I think there would have been breaking news in the papers and there is nothing but i did find this. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/game-thrones-actor-has-ear-430916

    ReplyDelete
  56. lol, yeah I read that headline a few days ago.

Plus: "Record 20 Million Tune In To 'Game Of Thrones' Premiere On Single HBO Go Account"

    ReplyDelete
  57. I did not really like that they had Sam screw up ALL of the ravens. Like you said, in the book he did manage to send some at first at least.

I'm guessing they want this year to be Sam's redemption arc starting with this being his new low and then evolving into Sam the Slayer and eventually being full respected...

    ReplyDelete
  58. It is the same actor playing Selmy,
    Ian McElhinney.

    ReplyDelete
  59. That's impressive! I was wondering what it would be.

    ReplyDelete
  60. The Tyrell's are not the Starks...

You will meet the matriarch of the house in the next episode (I think) and you will see that they are not naive, but major players for the Iron Throne. They are one of the richest families, have one of the strongest armies and are generally well liked.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Read the hole sentence again, loud and clear and then think about it. lol

    http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121214200024/gameofthrones/images/a/a8/RickardKarstark.jpg

That was Lord Karstark. He wants revenge since last year Jaime Lannister killed one of his son's while attempting to escape.

If you meant the more subdued and short-cropped man, that was Roose Bolton. One of the most trusted Stark bannermen.

    http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120523223303/gameofthrones/images/4/4a/Roose_2x04.jpg

We met him last year as he helped advise Robb. He has a basteard boy he said would reclaim Winterfell for Robb if he desired.

We have not met Brynden ' Blackfish' Tully yet, but when we do you will recognize him. He has scale armor (like fish!) and a fish crest.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Ha! XD
    Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  65. The most compelling thing about lions is that they are the only real pack cat. The way they look after one another's cubs or hunt for the team and not just looking out for themselves. A rare thing in the feline kingdom.

The males may seem lazy, but if their pride (in the pack sense) is challenged they will fight to defend them against bad odds.

Just how they are designed I guess, to have short bursts of aggression between naps! XD

    ReplyDelete
  66. I know, the scene just seemed treacly to me.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I suspect that's coming later, though if not, they're going to have to do some other changes to get the key points into the narrative-or just discard them, which is possible, I suppose.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Actually my joy at the brothel scenes was more sarcasm than real.

I could take or leave them for the most part. I was honestly trying to ignite the Ros-hate since it entertains me to read about how much some fans hate her!! XD

    I was instigating. XD

That said, I honestly think this scene worked as well or better than any brothel scene before. It was more effective since it was short but still managed to make its point while allowing HBO to insert some nudity.

I will take a scene like this over one of Littlefinger's rambling speeches any day

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yes, and since sending them is an important plot point, I assume that either Sam's going to manage somehow to make up for it later, or [name left out to avoid spoilers} is going to get the news in another way--or, again, there are some big plot changes coming.

    ReplyDelete
  70. They actually left out an Unsullied test that some might think is worse than killing babies--otherwise, why leave it out? :p

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hahaha! I love that it was Tony's password.. I missed the 'Single' hbo account.Cute Andi ;P

    ReplyDelete
  72. Ya! It was Robin Bolton! Apparently I didn't remember him! Thanks for clearing that up for me!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I couldn't imagine why she was being so nice,i was at a loss, not knowing if she was being sincere or not.So this is very interesting knowing this about them...yeah,i know read the books! This must be where Diana Riggs is introduced into the storyline..

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yes,i agree Cersi is afraid of Margaery for that reason, she would in effect lose everything.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Oh. I haven't. But tell me, is the show close to the books? Cause Vampire Diaries is also based on books, but the show is so different form the books, we can hardly say it's the same series.

    ReplyDelete
  76. "He didn't even got a "Thank you, well done" or anything. I wonder why Tywin even made him Hand in the first place, if he dislikes him like that."

They all end up feeling inferior I think, because they choose to blame each other, instead of openly loving each other. I think Tywin wanted Tyrion out of his hair/off the Battlefield and probably was trying to irritate Cersei simultaneously. He seems to be a cruel man, but it might be what makes his cubs strong, especially when we consider they are in a rather unjust and unfair world...

    ReplyDelete
  77. That's true. Other big cats are loners. Yes, the organized kindergarten is a good and practical thing.

The males defend the females and cups if another male lion tries to take the pride, true. And that's pretty much all they do. Feed, fuck and sleep. And occasionally they fight. On the other side, it's more than my cat's do. They sleep like 23 hours a day.

    ReplyDelete
  78. They probably use the brothel scenes to attract more male viewers?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Ha! XD

Yep, other than roaming their territory and marking it with scent and roars... the bigmales do seem quite lazy!

Although, I think I would take a big male lion against any animal in a fight. They have been designed for fighting basically. Powerful, fast, and deadly... albeit not great stamina.

    ReplyDelete
  80. You think he made the son he hates Hand just to have a reason to send him away? To punish his daughter with the burden he doesn't want himself? Could be.

He doesn't seem like a cruel man, he is a cruel man. Till a point it made his kids (cups? Are we at the lions again? lol) stronger. Cut also cruel and insane. Cersei? I wouldn't actually call her sane. Or Joffrey. Which is no wonder if we remember from S1 how she raised him.

    ReplyDelete
  81. The first season was fairly close to the books, but as the series goes on and expands it will get more and more different.

The books are huge and have massive ammounts of characters that actually do things.... literally over 300. With so many sub-plots, thousand year histories of kingdoms and houses and regions, fleshed out religions and social hierarchies and just so much detail in general there is no way the TV series can come close to delivering on that level.

The biggest difference is that each chapter of the books is from one character's perspective. That POV storytelling really allows you to get into each POV character's mind and get to know them on a level the TV series cannot hope to equal. That POV style does not work on TV so we lose most of the internal dialog as they adapt to material to fit a more traditional TV format.

It has been true to the spirit (in most cases) and kept to the basic foundation of each story fairly well though.... So far.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Of course they've been designed for fighting. They are predators. The alpha males are lazy. The males without a pride have to hunt for their food.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I hope there are some differences. There have to be, otherwise viewers won't watch if they can read it in the books.

I will probably read the books if I find the time. Shouldn't be a problem if they are like Harry Potter or House of Night (just can't put those away once I start).

    ReplyDelete
  84. Maybe?
I'm not sure why honestly. Maybe to draw in more viewers or maybe to help create buzz? Maybe HBO feels nudity is something you do not get on network TV and it helps to justify buying a subscription? I don't really get it myself....

Some scenes almost require nudity to feel real or for impact, but HBO sometimes feels the need to insert nudity or sex scenes in a series in ways that do not always work IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude or anti-nudity... I just do not watch a drama series for the nudity I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I was just saying his philosophy might be, "Cruel to be Kind" (but I think payback's a B---- with that kind of a philosophy!XD)

    ReplyDelete
  86. I have no idea. Naked women would attract more male watchers. Then they should add a few naked (and hot – women are picky) guys for the ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Ned was never cruel to his kids and they all turned alright. Even Arya is a fighter. Except Sansa seemed naïve and weak, like she has no mind of her own. I hope that changes.

And I agree that in a time and world like in GoT you sometimes have to be tough and unyielding toward your kids if you want them to survive. But there is a borderline to everything.

Payback's a bitch. Agree on that. Tywin raised his kids so they think it's okay to use others and betray them, even if it's your own family. And maybe there will be a time, when his kids betray him. That would be a situation I enjoy.

    ReplyDelete
  88. What DarqueMode says, basically. Season one was pretty close, with most changes really being things like combining characters who were distinct in the book for purposes of dramatic economy, or simplifying some actions/sequences to get us from point A to point B more efficiently in a visual medium. Season two made some more radical changes, most notably with Robb's romance--literally nonexistent in the book, with everything about him and the girl (I can't even remember her name, so minor was she in the book) occurring off-"screen" (as it were). Still, though, it was more faithful than most adaptations are (e.g contrast with The Walking Dead, which finished its season last night).

    ReplyDelete
  89. Don't know about House of Night, but they're definitely NOT like Harry Potter--way too graphic and hard-edged. They're if anything even crueler than the series. (Not that that's a bad thing.)

    ReplyDelete
  90. We don't know what lies Cersei told Tywin about Tyrion's tenure as Acting Hand while he was recovering after the Battle of Blackwater. And given Tywin's prerequisite loathing for Tyrion, he probably believed it without confirmation.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yeah, he probably did. And it was good wise of Cersei that she talked (and lied) to her father about Tyrion before he had the chance to talk to him. Tyrion knows about her and Jamie (and the kids), which makes him a threat in her eyes. And she's mad that he send her precious daughter away. I guess she'll try to kill him.

  92. What I meant is, that they have a good story, interesting characters and are written in a way I like and enjoy and it makes it hard to stop reading once I start. Like an addiction.

Confessing it is always the first step right? So: I'm addicted to books. I'm a passionate reader. So what?

  93. I'm addicted to books too, too. No disrepect intended, and I apologize if that's how it came across. (No criticism of Harry Potter intended, either; I've read and enjoyed those ones, too, but they are tonally very different from Martin's stuff.) I love reading; it's rare for me not to have several books on the go at once, of several different types. I have piles of books (literally--no more shelf space)--much to my wife's dismay.

  95. No need to apologize. If you think of my "So what" it wasn't against you. It's just that most people think reading is boring and a waste of time. I thought so too. In school when they forced us to read books they choose. But since I started with the Buffy and Harry books I enjoy it. I too have piles of books. I read much on my PC. I must admit that I downloaded hundreds of books. It's not my fault! If I find something form a new author and like it, I (of course) want to read everything. I don't have enough money or space for so many books so I download some. But they are in English and I prefer German, so I buy a lot too. I prefer reading in the bed or the tub. My friend thinks it's crazy. But I love lying in the tub for hours and read. Maybe your wife didn't found her style. Like with movies we all like different kinds of books. I prefer horror or fantasy, sometime thriller. Some are teen books (like Harry or House of Night (those are actually written by mother and daughter)), others are adult books (like Stephen King or Aikens Dragon Kin Series).

  96. Oh, my wife likes books, too--she just wishes I didn't have so many. I's her fault we have the Game of Thrones ones, though; I got them because she said SHE was interested in them, but she hasn't read them herself yet. In fact, when she heard about the show and that Sean Bean was going to be in it, I had to warn her not to get too attached to him lol!

  97. I thought it was ok. I am really glad to have it back, but I thought it was inferior to season 2 premiere somehow. Maybe it was because I really was disconnected from the show for too long this time and it is hard to get into it just like that. The pacing is an issue with the show with so many characters and arcs. But the production values were incredible as always, and I am sure I will enjoy it more as the season progresses!

  98. LOL

Reminds me on how I got my Harry books. I bought them on eBay. Books 1-6. The mother bought them for her son. She rear them once, he didn't. He sold them on eBay, I bought them.

If you're a person that reads a book just once, you can sell them, if you have so many. I never could. Not all of them. Some I read and sell them to friends or over eBay. I gave some mangas to a friend as a birthday present, so I got more space for new books. Some I could read 10 times and still keep them (like Harry).

  99. I do try to get rid of some every now and then, but I'm a total packrat, so it's difficult. And despite my wife thinking I have too many books, whenever I try to cut down, she looks at the ones I'm planning to get rid of, and says, "You can't get rid of THAT book!" and won't let me sell them. It's a complicated life lol!
