Was anyone else offended by the idea of a Catholic father committing an honor killing of his daughter? What a cheap shot — I expected better of this otherwise high quality show.
It was unintentional so calling it an honor killing is a bit strong - I think a strong point was that faith is great regardless of your religion but when it becomes the most important thing in your life it's not so good.
He didn't intend to kill her.... he hugged her too hard not realizing, due to his state of mind, that he was strangling her... = unintentional. Even a crime of passion is an intentional killing i heat of the moment but that's not what this was.
The closest I can come to calling it an unintentional killing is to label it a crime of passion. It fits neatly into the Catholic-bashing narrative we've come to expect from Hollywood and the media.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Blue Bloods has been the best cop procedural on TV this season.
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 - one big dissapointment!!!!
