So many good ones this time. I think the only part of the episode I didn't like was the toad eating. In the end it is a tossup for me between Monroe comforting a sick Rosalee and Monroe and Bud getting the sweat. Both awesome in totally different ways.
My favorite scene was Monroe and Juliette in the trailer. I loved how Monroe was trying to help jog her memory while completely avoiding as much of the truth as possible. I was also surprised to see how excited Juliette was and not just about her memories returning but about how crazy and mysterious all of the trailer stuff was in general. I wasn't expecting that reaction. Of course, that all went to hell when all those "Nicks" started popping up and talking all at once.
My favorite moment of the show was Bud coming out of the back room at the spice shop after Kellogg's freak out. The lawyer is piecing everything together and realizing he'd been set up and Bud comes in to see what all the commotion is, sees Kellogg, and (in the most deadpan line delivery ever) simply says "Oh... hi. How ya doin'?"
The CGI for the toad eating wasn't very good. I did, however, like the editing job they did in the bathroom scene where the toad drops onto the floor, they cut to Monroe looking at the toad, then they cut back to the toad who appears to be looking back at Monroe. I thought that was funny.
Bud was great this week and I'm also glad they're finding ways to include him from time to time. From what I understand, the cast and crew are quite fond of his portrayer Danny Bruno so there should be plenty of Bud in the future as well.
With the inherent uniqueness of all the Wesen on the show there's ample opportunity to develop many recurring characters like Bud and I'd like to see Grimm create more characters like him who pop in on the show every once in a while.
100% favourite was Monroe going after Barry. With all my favourite characters in the ep though, there was a lot of really great moments. Bud is so great, I love him and so happy they've realized what an asset and crowd pleaser he is and have kept him reuccuring. Monroe still makes the show for me. I really liked Barry too. His freak out at the end is one of my favourite character moments for the show too.
Two favorite scenes: 1) Juliette meets with the psychic that we saw in La Llarona. I was hoping for a long time she would do that, and the fact that she actually placed the call is evidence that our Juliette is beginning to warm to the idea of a supernatural.
2) SHAVING CREAM !! Juliette, did you pick up more shaving cream? Juliette, did you pick more shaving cream? Juliette, oh never mind, I'll just use yours. LOL
They do have a rich array to pull from and I would think the Wesen community would keep an eye out for each other. I am very open to some more people recurring. I like how the team includes more people now. All we need to do is get Juliette on board.
Monroe is my favorite character too. I love how he was tender with a sick Rosalee, goofy with the frog, and full on protective when Barry tried to hurt Rosalee. He gets to do a lot in the episode and it's always better with more Monroe screen time.
i am really tired and exhausted about juilette's memory loss and coming back story.and mexican lady what did she help for?? couple of lines and all uncertain.why is juilette between dark and light line.and juilette's eye-brows :)) funny.
I think the amnesia story line overran its welcome halfway through this season too. I had hoped it would be gone by now but it seems like it will be with us until the end of the season. Let's just hope it does not drag into season 3.
The CGI actually wasn't bad if they wanted it to be an arboreal frog, it looks very much like a colour mutation of a glass frog, but not if they wanted a toad.
My problem with the CGI wasn't due to the fact that they mixed up their frog / toad specifics. My problems was that at times it simply looked really, really fake.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteEating anything off the bathroom floor squicks me out. When you add toads to it, well...my stomach objects. The editing was good though.
ReplyDeleteBud is my character of the episode. Every time he was on I was rolling with laughter. I like how they are adding him in the cases sometimes now.

I liked how normal the Nicks at the end were. Just every day activities.

ReplyDeleteMonroe and Bud working together to get the lawyer's sweat is the funniest thing I have ever seen on this show. HILARIOUS.
