I thought the grandmother was coming to care for Ethan...i bet Owen wants to keep him.And gee,Bailey better let someone in and soon.
ReplyDeleteEthan is still here? Do I smell adoption in the Grey's oven? Is 22 the season final? It doesn't sound very spectacular.
ReplyDeleteNo. Season 9 will have 24 episodes :)
ReplyDeleteBailey not letting anyone in makes me think some of the doctors may have turned on her w/ the whole outbreak situation. Maybe we'll actually get to see her confiding in Ben in this episode. He sure is "busy" in LA. I like the ethan and owen story line. It definitely shows his paternal side. I think this will awaken suppressed feelings of wanting to be a father. I think crowen will end up at a crossroads and have to make a decision abt the future of their relationship. I'm REALLY excited abt the upcoming episodes but sad at the same time b/c the end of the season is near.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting so pissed with this all of this Bailey nonsense. Really? I thought Shonda had already done a very good job destroying her character for the past three/four seasons. And to think that when they started to talk about her being the heart of the hospital a few episodes ago I hoped everything was going back to normal and that someday she would become Chief of Surgery... but now... jeez, thanks again Shonda.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Bailey shutting everyone out? I hope she wasn't put on probation or something.
ReplyDeleteOwen never hid his paternal side, he told Cristina that from the get go. That's been the big elephant standing in between them. That crossroad was always there.
ReplyDeleteIf you think about it Bailey never made a mistake (the nazi),everyone leaned on her,she was the go to person, took charge and took care of just about everything....till now. Now everyone is looking at her, and she has to look at herself while trying to figure out this mess and how it occurred, where did she screw up,how did she allow this to happen! Its pretty hard looking and analyzing what one could have possibly done and the harm it has caused.
ReplyDeleteJennifer Bassey, who plays Ethan's grandmother will be appearing in Episodes 21, 22 and 23.
ReplyDeleteWell, Definetly Ethan will end up with Owen...
ReplyDeleteI didn't say hid...i said suppressed or better yet put on hold. I think Owen always shows his paternal side whenever a kid is around (ie when he offered to watch zola for meredith at the beginning of the season or hold sofia while mark and derek talked in season 8). He and Christina don't know what they are (Christina even says that in an episode this season). I think he will have to make a decision abt whether he wants to continue what he has with Christina or find someone that wants all the things he wants in a relationship hence why I said a crossroads. So i guess it's really Owen who may be at the crossroad with how he wants to proceed with his life.
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected. But they have both known before they even got married what each other wanted. This has been going on with them for over a year now, maybe one thought the other would change after they were married who knows? Shonda has made Owen the one wanting a child so bad that maybe because of this situation Cristina is the one to give in..I hope not, they both deserve their lives, either together w/o children ,as single parents or with other people, but it won't be them as a couple,it won't work.
ReplyDeleteYeah Owen definitely thought Christina would change her mind but found out how serious she was abt not wanting kids when she had the abortion. As much as I love them together, I agree that they both deserve what they want out of a relationship but at the same time true love can't be denied. If Owen were to leave Christina, I feel she would definitely grow to regret the decisions she made. I think that adoption would be the best compromise for them (if that's where they are headed with the Ethan story line) b/c Christina wouldn't have to take time off for maternity leave and wouldn't have to stay up late nights with a baby. I always felt like their relationship was the mirror of her and Burke's relationship except the roles switched and they were living the way Christina wanted to live. I never really thought Christina would ever be married, especially after Burke, but i can see how it happened with the PTSD situation and you can really tell she's really in love with Owen. I'm really excited to see where they will end up.
ReplyDeleteIt could work either ways: Cristina already refused to be mommy to Meredith's kids, she could tell Owen that, and he'd understand once and for all that while she'd make a charming cool aunt, she'd never be a mom. Or, Cristina could agree to raise the kid with Owen and let us all know (again) that Owen is her person now, not Meredith, that she'd do things for him she'd never do for her. But this break-up s@x redo is just ridiculous: Didn't Mer-Der do this in the 4th season?
ReplyDeleteBuild 'em up, tear 'em down.. Isn't that Shonda's MO where the characters are concerned? I'm only surprised it didn't happen to Bailey sooner!
ReplyDeleteshonda makes her storylines very long and complicated lol the one with loosing the hospital lasted forever and ended with a simple solution i thin everyone had and mind buy the hospital i just hope this is interesting. being its only 4 more episodes left until fall!
ReplyDeleteYou seem to forget that Ethan still has a mom and dad!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time Bailey came down from her high horse. Those comments she made to Derek and Meredith were downright mean! He thought he could never operate again and lost his best friend and she had lost her sister. Bailey was out of line with her comments that Derek and Meredith were to blame for the troubles with Seattle Grace Mercy Hospital. Don't get me wrong...I love Bailey but she has to realize, she isn't God. Shit can happen to everyone of us...
ReplyDeleteYep,that's Shonda in a nutshell, and your right she waited a long time to set her eyes on Bailey.
ReplyDeleteAnd you seem to forget that in the Synopsis Owen is worried that Ethan would end up in Foster Care so we are assuming that his parents would die.. or something like that
ReplyDeleteI believe that the experience with doctor Thomas changed her, She may never want to be a mom to a baby, raise a baby. But in this case, IF they adopt a child already grown up Cristina may consider this idea, because she'd be the mom/cool Aunt while Owen would do the parenting, assuming that the kid was already grown. Like Ethan.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she will die, or doesn't want the child. So he would end up in foster care. And Owen could adopt him, and convince Cristina. That would solve their problems...
ReplyDeleteThe actress who plays the grandmother, has said that in Episode 22, she has scenes with Jessica Capshaw., Since Arizona is a peds surgeon, I am going to assume that something happens to Ethan in Episode 22. This probably means that she is unable to care for him. The man, who plays Ethan's father, also appears in this episode and I think he is probably still in a coma. In the sides for Episode 21, Ethan's mother dies. All of this probably would probably make Owen think that the boy could end up in foster care. Also of note, the grandmother has scenes with Sandra Oh in Episode 23.
ReplyDeleteHuum. Maybe the case is that the grandmother doesn't want to raise the child. I dunno. I'm so crazy for these last episodes, I just want to watch them right now...lol
ReplyDeleteWe all knew that they would buy the hospital, but we never imagined that the Avery foundation would play an important part and that Avery would become the boss of everybody, lol
