As if our favorite BONES characters haven’t had enough trauma lately, next week’s season finale will bring some massive shifts as Pelant shows up once again to wreak havoc.
“They just thought they were going to lose one of their own with Arastoo [in "The Pathos in the Pathogens"], and Pelant is scary,” BONES star Emily Deschanel (Brennan) told reporters. “He’s someone who’s brilliant — maybe Brennan is a little bit smarter than him, but it’s hard to say. She hasn’t faced somebody quite as terrifying and challenging as him, and [he's] targeting them. It’s pretty scary. She’s been raising her child with Booth; there are so many things that have happened in the last two years, they don’t have a moment to think about their lives and themselves and their relationship. Booth and Brennan get together, they get pregnant right away, and then have to raise a child together, and Brennan’s always been this person that’s said, ‘I’m not going to have children, I’m not going to get married’ and she’s kind of going along, but she’s not been forced to examine her life and that relationship. So when this happens with Pelant, it really forces her to look at her life and herself and her relationship and her feelings and why she feels certain ways about certain things. It makes her question some of her core beliefs. It’s a very pivotal time for her.”
