Vikings - Katheryn Winnick Conference Call

1 Mar 2013

History channel’s new scripted drama Vikings tells the story of Viking warrior Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) who grows tired of raids in the East and longs to see what lies to the West. And while Vikings has plenty of warrior men with swords and tempers to boot, at the center of it stands one fierce warrior woman. Ragnar’s wife Lagertha, played by the stunning Katheryn Winnick, is a force to be reckoned with, and shows that women have just as much a place in this brutal world as men. Lagertha’s role in the series may be of particular interest to anyone who appreciates a strong female character’s presence on a show. Not only does she play the role of mother and caretaker for her family, but also is a strong and independent woman in her own right, an equal match for her warrior husband. In a confernace call earlier this week, Katheryn discussed her character, and what it was like to play such a role.
