I think the key to how this is going to go down is Tyreese and Sasha. The Governor asked them to tell him the layout of the prison. Tyreese and Sasha could have given him plans that lead the team straight into the zombie-infested part of the prison that they were running through when Carl originally found them. Allen (who is the one opening that door) just lost his son when Merle shot him last week. He's the only one who could warn The Governor about Tyreese leading them into a trap-- but what if The Governor ironically thinks Allen is the one trying to do that, in revenge for his dead kid, and decides to go with what Tyreese and Sasha told him? So he leads his army into the zombie part of the tomb.
My guess is that they WILL try to run, but won't get the chance to. Most people already wanted to leave in the first place, and Rick just gave them the choice to fight or go. I know I would not stand a chance against an army 5 times my size.
Realize this is probably not gonna happen. But what would be weirdly cool is if Rick & Co. rounded up the walkers and ganged them up behind the prison door ... then abandoned the prison, headed over to Woodbury, waited until the Gov and his group pulled out, and blew up Woodbury while its army was over at the prison. They head off on the road (hopefully with rescued Andrea in tow) for Season 4, Governor still "out there" and an ongoing threat ...
I'm just anticipating frustration. I think they might not kill the Governor by the season finale, not just yet. That would be soooooooo annoying. If they do that, they might just turn off enough fans for the series to pull off its own version of "jump the shark". I hope this isn't the case. Nothing would satisfy me more than to have the Governor dead!!!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Fuuuck.
ReplyDeleterick group abandon the prison; I wonder why???? or whats the plan???
ReplyDeleteAck, that creepy pounding music. And what the heck is behind that door? Is it Rick?
ReplyDeleteLeave the fuck out to not get killed, maybe?
ReplyDeletethis episode is going to be EPIC!!
ReplyDeleteI think they're all hidden somewhere in the prison, preparing an ambush against them

ReplyDeleteI bet the group rounded them up and left a walker trap for the Gov and his men. Sorta like the accidental thing Andrea did in "Clear".

ReplyDeleteyeah, but Rick's a bad-ass. A seven nation army couldn't hold him back (reference alert!) :P
ReplyDeleteBut I guess we'll see what happens this Sunday...and then after that we'll see in October 2013 :/
That wasn't "Clear". It was "Prey". "Clear" was the Morgan episode.
