  1. I absolutely loved this clip... until the part about giving the cure to Elena.

What the hell is it with the people on this show determined to take the cure for themselves or to give the cure to anyone but Silas? Maybe I'm being too harsh and they haven't put all the pieces together (the hallucinations, Bonnie's manipulation & subsequently losing her sh*t, Shane's death on the island, the crazy plan to bring all the supernatural dead to life...) but they need to smarten up or they're all screwed.

  2. I totaly agree with you Bruce .. they should listen to Vaughn!

  3. I completely agree, I mean I get why Stefan and Damon want Elena human again but the end of the world as they know it sounds a bit worse than Elena staying a vampire.

  4. Yeah, Vaughn was smug but he wasn't wrong. Once it was known that there's only one dose of the cure and that Silas has risen, the decision of what to do with the cure should have been a no-brainer.

  5. Absolutely. Human is the last thing any of them should want to be in the face of a potential undead armageddon.

I agree. AND how stupid they act about wanting Elena to be cured. I am sick of them wanting her to saved at all costs. ANd what they are gonna let Klaus use her blood for more hybrids. LAME. Besides ELena's family is all dead. Like she wants to be human and live with no family.

  7. My guess? They don't see Silas as a big enough threat to do something against him. Not like they even know what to do if they decide to do something. We still know nothing about Silas but the fact that he wants to complete the sacrifice and bring back every supernatural creature on the other side.
But I agree. Why Elena? Why should she get the cure and not Stefan or Becca or Klaus? And here is another thought: Give the cure Katerina and deliver her to Klaus, wrapped up as a birthday present. It's what she planned on doing with Elena, so it would be perfectly justified. Klaus is happy to get his blood bag, Elena is happy cause Katerina is suffering the worst fate possible, the Salvatores are happy cause they got rid the bitch. Everyone would be happy. Except Katerina, but I can live with that.
The other thing about Silas is, that they will probably focus more on Bonnie (since she is the one doing the spell). They probably don't know yet that she is being manipulated by Silas, they think it's Shane.

  8. It's not just about Elena. Rebekah wants it for herself, Stefan would prefer to take it for himself but would probably give it to Elena anyway, and whatever Katherine wants it for probably isn't good for anyone. The point is that everyone searching for this cure is being selfish and stupid about it.

  9. "They don't see Silas as a big enough threat to do something against him."

They should have. Even Jeremy started to figure it out. Silas, who had been desiccated to a stone-like state for thousands of years, was still powerful enough to enter the minds of people within the slightest proximity to him and make them hallucinate so strongly that they could actually feel the touch of the people who weren't really there. That should scare the piss out of all of them.

  10. but that would just end the show way too soon :P as far as they are now, it's just a matter of time before they realize Shane IS Silas and judging by the spoilers I've been hearing, it won't be any time soon :(

  11. I'm kind of hoping he is just saying that so Klaus doesn't know Silas is real. This is Damon. He doesn't want her cured. Unless he got a total change of heart in the last two episodes. He doesn't really want to use it for Elena. More than likely he wants it to give to Silas or one of his other problems(Kathrine or Klaus are also up there)

  12. Bummer. I don't enjoy the prospect of watching all these characters chase their tails for an entire block of episodes. :(

  13. Damon doesn't want her cured but he's willing to get it for her anyway. He made that clear more than once and He told Rebekah exactly how he feels about in 4.15 "Stand By Me": "I wanted that cure for her because it's what she wanted."

  14. Thank the gods, I'm not the only one using my brain. You're too.
Since the info about the cure came out, everyone is so "Yeah, cure Elena. Turn her back. Kill whoever you have to, to get the cure for Elena" Even her friends. Especially her friends. And I understand. Elena never wanted to be a vampire and they just try to help. But I'm saying from the beginning, I'd rather die or stay a vampire (even if I would hate it) than being cured. Everyone
wants her to be cured, but no one is considering the consequences. What it would mean for her to be human again. She would be Klaus blood bag for the next 40, 50 or 60 years. Not to mention that he would let some guys rape her so she would have kids, to ensure the next doppelganger for Klaus. Elenas kids would probably also be his prisoners, so would be their kids and their kids. And besides all that, I think Klaus would kill everyone Elena knows and lock her away for the rest of her life. She already died once and he won't risk of losing her again, so he would probably compel her and lock her away. And to prevent that someone would steal her (or free her, depends on your point of view), he would kill everyone she knows.
But of course no one on the show is considering any of this. Especially not the people who say they love her. Not even Elena is thinking of the consequences.
I wouldn't say it's lame. I'd say it's JP. She's not known for using any sense of logic. And the characters are barely using their brains. So it makes kind of sense that no one is considering the consequences for Elena.

  15. Ah! Another person that is considering what it would mean for Elena to be human again.

  16. Well hopefully the past tense is key and he is just manipulating Klaus in to finding Kathrine. Although you may be right, they may have not put the pieces together. I dunno. The reason I think he is trying to keep Silas on the downlow with Klaus atm is because it would basically be saying "Yeah Klaus. You know how we went after the cure? Yeah well Kathrine has it. Oh and Silas was real so I guess Kol was right and he died for nothing" I mean, at least that's probably how I'd take the "Silas is out" news if I was Klaus.

  17. I agree. But you know that the characters barely use their brains (thanks for that JP). They are focusing on Elena right now (which is good, cause she really needs help),
and Katerina and the cure and Bonnie. Just no Silas. Not that Silas would complain about that. It gives him plenty of time and opportunity to work on Bonnie. Can't we kill her and get Jeremy back?

    ReplyDelete
  18. From what I understand, Klaus won't take Silas seriously as a threat until 4.18 when Klaus supposedly gets his ass handed to him by Silas.

"Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) receives Caroline’s (Candice Accola) reluctant help and comes to a new understanding of Silas’ powers."

    ReplyDelete
  19. "But you know that the characters barely use their brains"
Ha! I can't argue with that.

"It gives him plenty of time and opportunity to work on Bonnie. Can't we kill her and get Jeremy back?"
If TVD was planting seeds of a Damon/Bonnie friendship in 4.15 like I think they were, then no. I want to see what happens with that.

  20. Yeah!!! The hug. One of the best scenes in the ep. But I doubt it will be more than this. Although it's been an up and down between Damon and Bonnie (in one ep they work together and trust each other, in the next she's trying to kill him, …). So, it could be more. Just friendship, nothing romantic or sexual, of course, but still more they had till now. It would be great. Cause it was getting on my nerves that Bonnie was blaming Damon for everything that happened in MF.

  21. I'm certain that Katherine wants the cure to kill Klaus, which I'd argue is good for everyone, but not with Silas around.

From Damon's perspective, I understand it a lot better than from anyone else. The return of every supernatural who has ever died doesn't seem like it would end his world, and he wouldn't care about the lives of the faceless humans who would suffer for it. He'd care more about Elena and finding out if her feelings are genuine.

  22. "I'm certain that Katherine wants the cure to kill Klaus, which I'd argue is good for everyone..."
No one can be certain that turning and killing Klaus won't adversely effect Klaus' bloodline so I'm not ready to say that's good for anyone at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  23. That's true.

But I imagine worst case scenario is that Klaus' descendants all become human again. Pretty safe to say they lose the connection to him the second they aren't vampires anymore.

I still think that'd be worth it for most characters.

  24. I'm baffled. This is the first VD discussion I stumble upon that actually has people talking about the plot and that in a quite intelligent and constructive manner. That's great! All the other VD discussions I read so far didn't offer much more than little girls bitching at each other about which of the Salvatore's got the nicer abs... Way to go people!
