Sounds very interesting to me, can't wait to see.
ReplyDeleteUgh, didn't like that girl, did they have to bring her back? Other than that, sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteKrissy,as in the girl from last season?!I did not know that.Sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for Krissy coming back, but not at all for ANOTHER MOTW episode...
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how people complained for two seasons of them getting back to having more Monster of the Week episodes, now we are a little bit more than halfway through and people are complaining about there being too many,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that Krissy's back (Hooray for recurring female characters!). And I like that they're continuing with the theme of finding a balance between hunting and domestic life,Sounds like it's going to be interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis fandom is divided on the subject.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. This will be interesting.Krissy was cool.So is this the episode where Sam gets beet up for good?? :/
ReplyDeleteand the thing is by my count there have been 8 episodes that dealed with the season or overall series mytharc and 8 MOTW episodes.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love Krissy! Glad she's coming back.
ReplyDeleteI knew the girl from the promo was familiar :) I was about to ask if it was her then I remembered she was 'retired',....I guess not anymore
ReplyDeleteMany in this fandom are not happy unless they are divided. They live for it. It sucks eggs.
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept! Let's hope it delivers.
ReplyDeletePoor Krissy! Nice to see her again! But it's sad to learn that after everything her father died and she's joined the group of hunters.
ReplyDeleteWhat bothers me about it is that we shouldn't have those this late in the season or storylines become rushed, are dropped or quickly resolved just like last season. I don't feel we should be wasting time on MOTW episodes this close to the finale and abandon the storyline. The writers have a habit of cramming too much in one episode and then you just get one big mess of a story just like with Born Again Identity.
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept. Sam and Dean should be both intrigued by what this guy is doing and cautious of it to but boy would it be nice if this guy was on the up and up and didn't have an ulterior motive with these kids.
ReplyDeleteAlso not sure how this counts as a run of the mill MOTW episode when it fits with one of the biggest themes of this season which has been about Sam and Dean finding some kind of balance with hunting and normal. If anything this fits with the brothers arc which is the most prevalent arc. There are 7 episodes left this season and at least 4 of them that we know of are myth arc heavy not to mention the demon/angel tablets/gate closing myth arc is actually an arc that has to last at least till the end of season 9. Thats a lot of episodes to stretch a mythology over since it sounds like the closing of gates will be the shows end game.
This fandom is divided about EVERY THING. ;) But it does make this forum interesting and I enjoy finding out how the other half lives.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I did not care for her either, but the story sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Why not have more stand-alones in the first half or at least scatter them better.
ReplyDeleteNoooooo. I don't think do. Krissy and Adam Glass. This is a must-skip for me.
ReplyDeleteLike Marissa said, the fandom is divided. My impression is it was more a minority wish for MOTWs, but for those who did, it was more of a wish for a season 1 feel. Sam and Dean on the road, facing scary - with the emphasis on scary - monsters. Krissy doesn't quite qualify as scary yet.
ReplyDeleteI hope she survives. SPN doesn't kill kids and I hope it stays that way. It would be interesting to have her recurring and growing up over the years.
ReplyDeleteEgads, not her again. Well at least it isn't the chick from Bitten which was my initial thought when I saw a spoiler on Twitter. What is up though with Adam Glass bringing back characters he has already spotlighted - Garth, Krissy. Is he going to bring Lucky the creeper dogman back next?
ReplyDeleteHer acting was scary in the last episode.
ReplyDeleteI think the problem isn't so much the number of standalones but the quality of the standalones. Seasons 1 and 2 had monsters and PiPs that stood out and the brothers remained the heroes of the story instead of watching someone else kill the monster. These standalones range from forgettable to outright sucky. I rarely feel for any of these standalone characters unless it's to hope they get killed off to get them off my screen. The brothers play the role of wallpaper for far too many of them and some of the episodes literally feel like the PTB are killing time in their 42 minutes.
ReplyDeleteAnother problem is of course pacing, which the show has suffered from since season 3. I like standalones (of good quality) but I hate feeling like the mytharc is introduced, dropped, picked up for one episode around the midseason finale, dropped, and then a season's worth of mytharc is crammed into the last 3 episodes, overloading it until it feels like a checklist of events instead of a coherent plot. They do that too often and this season feels no different. In fact it actually feels worse because it took them 14 episodes to even get a hint about what they need to do to close hell.
No, no a thousand times no! NO LUCKY! However, every time a show uses a character that a writer created for them, the writer gets additional royalties for the character. So it pays for a writer to bring back someone they created in the first place.
ReplyDeleteIf they were going to bring back a kid from the past and show them growing into a hunter, it should be Michael from Something Wicked. He at least didn't have me aching to reach into the TV and smack him like I wanted to do with Krissy bratty around.
ReplyDeleteKrissy, blech in AIB.
ReplyDeleteDon't give Glass ideas, Daphne, lol (re Lucky, of course ;) ).
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'd far, far rather have teenage Michael back, and turned newbie Hunter than Krissy the dreadful "Sis Fic" escapee any day.
ReplyDeleteSo I am subjected to Garth and Krissy again just so someone can get a bigger TV. Great!
ReplyDeleteHa! When I finished AiB, I thought someone's fanfic came to life too.
ReplyDeletemany of the fandom are just plain stupid so i'm glad they don't listen to them. i'll leave the decisions to the people who work on the show.
ReplyDeleteoh and I think this episode looks great. can't wait.
ReplyDeleteInteresting you should mention Something Wicked for although we don't get Michael we do get Dr Hydecker (Adrian Hough ), the shtriga. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that. Interesting and it could explain why recurring characters sometimes turn up in strange places.
ReplyDeleteWell I did like Lucky better than Krissy, at least he was not a smart mouth kid.
ReplyDeleteSounds pretty interesting. More hunters is what this series needs.
ReplyDelete>> Sam is intrigued by Victor’s method of giving the teenagers a home life
ReplyDeleteas well as a hunting life, but Dean is suspicious of Victor’s motives.<<
WELL ... YEAH.
It's Adam Glass turn on the writers' rotation already? BOO HISS! Just gonna power through it and hope for the least annoying outcome.
ReplyDeleteYay Krissy is back bitches.
ReplyDeleteThis fandom is all kinds of nuts.
ReplyDeleteI raise and release orphan baby squirrels, so I know I am nuts, but we do love the best show on TV. ;)
ReplyDeleteOK, I will drink to this comment.
ReplyDeleteI agree except the premiere of Season 4 was great especially with the introduction of Castiel. I have felt that this season the boys have been put on the back burner and some stuff taking a different direction that I am not liking because it seems like the writers have not found continuity in the season itself and with the previous seasons in what we already know and seen about the brothers etc.. I hate that they took away the Impala for so long and they are hodgepodging things. the 1st seasons it was all about the boys and the impala and them finding information and it was all great. Hasn't the gates of hell been closed with the colt back in Season 2? It feels like they are putting the 2 main characters on the back burner this season. What happened to the one episode a season where ben edlund writes a funny scary episode that ha snot happened this season.I will continue to watch, but I have to rewatch previous seasons to make myself more valid points in regards to this season their errors. I do not like the Amelia character and did Sam really take a year off willingly? As fans of the show the writers new and old should know there is a reason why their were no girls or love interests for the boys because the girls fans refused and liked that it was the boys and the impala hence they came up with Bella and the 1st Ruby where they were not love interests but in the background and esp Bella was able to keep the boys on their feet. Bring more female characters of that quality or Jo and leave the whining ones out (i.e. the girl with the sona nd Amelia)
