Update: 14th March We've added a couple of little additions today.

[NEW] Article Author Names will now appear on new articles as they come in on the popups. Existing articles will not have them on.
[NEW] Labels/Categories will now appear on article popups.
[NEW] Date and Timestamps will now appear on article popups.

We have just released the latest version of STVPlus which now Version 2.

Big thanks again to our fantastic developer Tharshan who does all this in his spare time.

Note: We strongly recommend that you take a look through the detailed help file here which explains all these features and more along with screenshots.

The new release has a number of changes which you can see below in the Full Changelog. Two of the larger changes that we'd like to highlight here in this post are

Article and Information Popups
All the article links in the dashbard will now load the underlying article in a new popup. This new popup will show you the article and the comments without you having to leave the dashboard. The popups allow you to read and add comments that will appear on the corresponding article on the main SpoilerTV.com site.

Also, when you click on any of the Episode specific information such as Sneak Peeks, Promos, Press Releases and/or Promotional Photos, these will also load in the new popups.

Here are some screenshots to give you an idea. As you can see the comments appear to the right of the content to make it easier to comment what you are reading/watching.

Exclusion Filters
One of the most requested features was the ability to exclude certain article types from being displayed on the STVPlus Dashboard. For example some people may not be interested in Casting News, or Ratings etc

You now have the ability from your settings page to exclude the types or articles you don't want to see.

  4. I really like it too... and can you fix Da Vinci's Demons? Nothing appears about this show

  5. I noticed a couple of things.

    1) An indented post is displayed without the indent in the pop-up.
2)The poster's name does not appear. I know this is not such a big thing, but I like seeing who posted the article. Also, I am sure, recappers/reviewers want their readers to see who posted the recap/review.

  6. Cool.

    1) Yes it just displays the raw text currently
    2) We'll look at adding that in the next version

  7. And roughly, when will the next version be out, with the posters name included in the pop-up?

  8. No idea sorry, we normally collate a load of feedback and release it in a batch. We have a number of other task to do before then.

Really depends on how much free time our developer gets.

I don't want to commit to a date and then can;t keep it.

  9. if you feel that you the new popups are not your thing, you can turn them off in your settings.

  10. I quite like it however I think the homepage is too cluttered. There needs to be more space between the articles. Even when you set a low number of articles per page, they're still too closely packed.

  11. Oh yeah, I noticed one more thing: The tags do not appear in the pop-up. This doesn't really matter for posts about a single, but for news regarding various shows, this helped see which shows the post is about.

I hope I am not annoying you guys (Andy and Tharshan) by pointing these things out.

  13. Hi @DarkUFO from the notification centre it's still doing the same thing for example with Vampire Diaries which has 2 sneak peeks when i click on the link from the notification centre they both link to Sneak Peek 1 even the one above it same thing with Beauty and the beast

  14. Thanks @smallville944:disqus I;ve logged it. Seems it's not fully fixed

  15. If the notification you are looking at is older than this release, then it will not be fixed. The issue is fixed from notifications created from this release onwards.

  16. Yes, that's true. I'd forgotten to explicitly mention that.

  17. okay thanks i wasn't sure

  18. I prefer to open the articles in new tabs (which is generally faster when you read a lot), so it's very inconvenient for me, that I can't do this by clicking the scroll... ;)

  19. You can turn off the popups in your settings.

  20. @Babar_Suhail:disqus Tags/labels should now be added

  21. @Babar_Suhail:disqus Authors name should now appear.

  22. I see that you the poster's name is now present in the pop-ups. However, there is a problem with this; in some posts the poster's name is visible, while on others, it is just "By" followed by the date the post was made.

  23. Yes, as mentioned in the Article, only new articles since the update will have the author name populated. Older articles won't ;)
