So great! My choices this week are (in the alphabetical order):
1. Show: ARROW
Episode: “Dead to Rights”
Date: February 27, 2013
Actors: Stephen Amell, Colin Donnell
The Scene: Tommy learning the truth about Oliver
This is such a powerful scene. The chaos going on in the building, Malcolm running out of time and Tommy pointing the gun at “The Hood”... Oliver deciding to reveal himself to his best friend was probably one of the hardest decision he had to make. He knew it’ll, most likely, cost him the friendship of someone he’s known and cared about for many years, maybe even the complete exposure of his identity but he did it anyway, he made the sacrifice. Cause he had to help his friend. And the scene was so beautifully done! Very good acting by both of the stars, later continued in the scene in the hospital. Oliver admitting he never intended to tell Tommy the truth and the way his voice breaks down and the expression on his face. Stephen Amell is the unquestioned star of the show!
NOTE: This scene was also picked as the Scene of The Week by Bradley Adams and Pascal Buijnsters!
“Never have I watched the same scene as many times as I have this one. Brilliantly done." Bradley Adams
2. Show: CASTLE
Episode: “Hunt”
Date: February 25, 2013
Actors: Nathan Fillion, Molly Quinn
The Scene: Castle coming Alexis to the rescue
It’s such a nice change to see Nathan Fillion getting an opportunity to show his dramatic skills on Castle, he doesn’t get to do this very often and he’s really very good. The last two episodes were great, probably one of my favorites of the show, so it’s no surprise to see the scenes from them being recognized here! Of course there are many scenes I could mention, but the one I loved the most is Castle finally finding Alexis and, with the help of his father (!) saving her. First, the father sees his little girl, locked in the cage (!) and they both fight their emotions trying to stay strong in the impossible situation. And a moment later, both of them running away, with Castle knocking down people on their way. The whole part was wonderfully done and very touching. Always happy to see more of the amazing father-daughter relationship on the show!
3. Show: SUPERNATURAL
Episode: “Remember the Titans”
Date: February 27, 2013
Actors: Jensen Ackles
The Scene: Dean praying to Castiel
Dean Winchester is not a man of faith, but there are times when the love for his little brother makes him desperate enough to pray, sometimes even beg for help, when he feels like he’s out of options. In this scene Dean asks his lost and powerful friend to keep an eye on Sam, who’s clearly hiding his pain from him. I always love the scenes which show just how much these two care for each other, but the most important reason, why I’ve chosen this particular one is called Jensen Ackles. There are many actors I adore and absolutely appreciate their work but there are only few I call the best ones and I have no doubts Jensen is among them. This man never ceases to deliver an incredible performance and always shows just the right emotions (regardless whether it’s a comedy or drama) in just a right amount. So impressed with his work on the series, I’m really hoping that once the Supernatural ends, he’s gonna get an opportunity to star in the show or a movie, where his skills will be recognized by the larger audience and more people will have a chance to enjoy his amazing work.
NOTE: This scene was also picked as the Scene of The Week by klutzy girl and Sylvie C!
“Loved it so much. He was so worried about his little brother and the prayer itself was so genuine. For me it was the perfect ending scene.” Sylvie C
And here’s more of SpoilerTV Team members’ favorite scenes:
FROM BRADLEY JAMES
NCIS: LA, “Lokhay”, February 26, 2013, Actors: Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen
The Scene: Deeks telling Kensi that he used to be a male stripper. That was absolutely hilarious.
NCIS, “Detour”, February 26, 2013, Actors: David McCallum, Brian Dietzen
The Scene: The bit where Ducky insulted Jimmy's Call of Duty firearms training. That was funny.
FROM JIMMY RYAN
The Following, “The Fall”, February 25, 2013, Actors: Kevin Bacon, Natalie Zea
The Scene: There is always a lot of great scenes on this show, but for a favorite I'd have to pick the episode's closing scene where Ryan Hardy returns to Claire Matthews' house, but without her son Joey, and as Ryan attempts to hug Claire, she becomes violent, trying to force him away. There was plenty of emotion and desperation in this scene, as Claire knows Ryan is the only one she can trust to get Joey back, but he has a massive mountain to climb as Joe Carroll's master plan continues to evolve. The Following is lighting up Monday nights, and I can't wait for more!!
FROM KLUTZY GIRL
Go On, “Ring and a Miss”, February 26, 2013, Actors: Matthew Perry, Laura Benanti, John Cho
The Scene: Steven and Lauren comfort Ryan after he breaks up with Simone and gets through his first post-Janie relationship. It was sweet.
Nashville, “Dear Brother”, February 27, 2013, Actors: Connie Britton
The Scene: Rayna writes a song for Deacon's birthday and sings it.
FROM ROBIN SMYTH
Castle, “Hunt”, February 25, 2013, Actors: Nathan Fillion, James Brolin
The Scene: Where Rick finally meets his father and gets to have the conversation where he learns his dad has been watching him from the shadows and did not abandon him as he has first thought.
Justified, “Outlaw”, February 26, 2013, Actor: Walton Goggins
The Scene: "I am the outlaw"
FROM PASCAL BUIJNSTERS
Castle, “Hunt”, February 25, 2013, Actors: Stana Katic, Crystal Allen
The Scene: The interrogation scene with Beckett and Henson's girlfriend Pauline. Powerful scene with Beckett showing how much she cares about Castle and Alexis, she was truly not messing around!
The Americans, "COMINT", February 27, 2013, Actors: Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Gregory Abbey, Matthew Lawler, Chris Fischer
The Scene: The whole scene in the garage while they are "repairing" the car as a cover to switch some electronics in the FBI surveillance car!

Great stuff Justyna. Congrats on the stats :)
ReplyDeleteLets hope this grows even more over time.
I think I'd go with The Following and when Ryan is being held at gunpoint and is "toying" with all 3 of the follows. Some great dialog and some of it was pretty funny.
Thanks Andy! Me too!
ReplyDeleteI think I should really check out The Following and The Americans, there seem to be a lot of great stuff going on! ;)
Great article again and you chose some great scenes as well! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso those are some awesome statistics! Congratulations! :D
You really should, both are great shows. ;)
ReplyDeleteRayna's song for Deacon
ReplyDeleteAll the scenes from Castle were great, but I pick the Beckett´s interrogation, because I didn´t see that coming...
ReplyDeleteAgree with the scene from Americans that was beautifully executed. My scenes of the week would also be the Raylan saying goodbye to Arlo in Justified and the epic fight scene at the end of Spartacus.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, The Following! You get a mention this week.
ReplyDelete1. The Following: Ryan Hardy. It was the first time I really, really enjoyed him as a character. He had three guns on him and he was still trolling them so hard. It was hilarious. He knew Jacob, Paul and Emma couldn't kill him (and he didn't care anyway) and he knew that he could beat them all if they came close to him. "He's looking at me funny" / "And his spine will be cracked." / "Yeah, Paul. I know that stuff."
2. The Americans: Definitely the car ''repairing'' scene. First of all, Phillip's disguise was RIDICULOUS. Classic spy stuff, trying to distract those two guys while Elizabeth was climbing over the cars to get inside the trunk. Of course, everything almost went horribly wrong... I love this show.
3. The Americans: The scene with Beeman and his wife. Again, the subtle humor mixed with well acted emotional moments as they (well, she) talked about their old life together while he was trying to learn Russian.
4. Does the Game Of Thrones trailer count? Sorry, The Walking Dead. Don't ever focus an episode on Andrea again. The scene where she got SUCH a warm welcome from her old group was pretty good, but other than that the episode was a bit uninteresting.
Lot of good scenes in Castle, but for me nothing tops Dean asking Castiel to watch over his little brother. Jensen gets me crying with just a little moisture in his eyes, but let real tears start and I am LOST, like when he was telling Sam about Hell. lol
ReplyDeleteJensen's amazing acting talent on full display - Dean praying to Castiel.
ReplyDeleteThe Following! I love when Ryan is playing head games with Paul,Emma and Jacob, come on yeah,i'll crack your spine, what a scene! Loving this show more and more every week!
ReplyDeleteAnd we need to see Nathan playing more dramatic parts,he was great in this 2 parter!
Beckett's interrogation scene, hands down. She showed how much she loves Castle and Alexis with one kick.
ReplyDeleteIf we could have more than one choice I would have picked the other two Castle scenes too. Just a great episode all around.
not surprising that castle has 3 scenes in this poll, awesome stuff
ReplyDeleteThe Arrow reveal to Tommy was by far the best scene for me this week. However The Following when Ryan gets the Thrill Kill Trio to doubt each other was very powerful as well. My only problem with that one is picking which time because he did such a great job of it throughout the episode. Supernatural was just bland for me this week.
ReplyDeleteRyan was the powerhouse in that room for sure even tied up and being tasered. It was a masterful performance and reminded me again why I watch this show even if every single person in law enforcement is shown to be stupid in it.
ReplyDeletethe break-up of zoe and wade.hart of dixie
ReplyDeleteYes! Ryan's was brilliant in that scene,i'm so glad its getting decent ratings and higher ratings with +7.This show has been a breath of fresh air compared to all the other shows that came our way this season..
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see 3 scenes from Castle as the top three vote getters. Come on ABC, renew Castle for season 6 already!
ReplyDeleteLoved all the chosen scenes from Castle! That was definitely one hell of a two-parter!
ReplyDeleteFor NCIS I actually like another scene better: when Ducky called Jimmy by his first name instead of "Mr. Palmer" like he normally does. Showed just how much he cares for his protege and how that situation made him remember it.
On Nashville, I actually liked more the scenes with Juliette with/concerning her mom: finding her drunk at the party, putting her to bed and her apologizing for ruining Juliette's 9th birthday, talking to her mom's rehab therapist (or whatever he is) about the 9th birthday. Really powerful.
I also loved Daphne's speech to the board on Switched at Birth. I was applauding and cheering along with everyone else. Nice setup for tomorrow.
Supernatural - Dean's prayer
ReplyDeleteArrow - Tommy learning the truth
Nashville - Rayna writing and singing the song for Deacon (the way he looks at her!) and Gunnar and Scarlett's last scene.
I think I've watched the Oliver-Tommy scene on YouTube about 80 times since Wednesday. That's how awesome it was.
ReplyDeleteDean's prayer <3 It reflected Dean's worry for both Sam and his angel Castiel.
ReplyDeleteSam is more important than anything to Dean and he prays to Castiel to watch out for him, but let's look at that for a bit. Dean prays to Cas to help him, if Dean trusts Castiel with Sam's life, Dean trusts Castiel with his own life. Castiel is extremely important to Dean and Dean obviously cares deeply and worries about Cas. Let's not forget this. No matter what happens, Dean will always have faith in Castiel.
ReplyDeleteAlso if we could just make it clear that Dean's praying scene wasn't *only* about Sam. It was trusting Cas about him, confiding this important piece of information and putting his faith and trust in Cas about Sam. Which is pretty big, honestly. So do /not/ make that scene out to be only about and for Sam. Because it is just as much about Castiel too. It's for Cas, about Sam, and it was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDean's prayer was touching. it showed that he's concerned about both Sam and Cas..
ReplyDeleteDean's prayer was beautiful and heartrending in all the ways we have come to love about Supernatural. It was the best of the show -- the love for family and concern for those parts of the family that don't end with blood -- Dean's desperation to feel not so alone, not so unheard -- his vulnerability in the face of Sam's confidence. And the possibility that somewhere, in that same hideout, Sam was also praying for his own safety and so he would not let his brother down. I hope they are both heard.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Dean's prayer but not believe of his love for Sam (which is cool of course) but because of his belief in Castiel
ReplyDeleteDeans prayer, hands down! I love that he is pray to Cass to watch out for his little brother and also showing they need Cass on earth and are worried! Sam is the most important thing in Dean's life and always will be even when they fought earlier this season. Cass comes second but he is still extremely important to Dean <3
ReplyDeleteDean's prayer of course! Not only was it one of the most heart warming and touching moments ever, but it was executed flawlessly and said more in just a few words than most shows say in an entire episode. It was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDean's prayer could have been maudlin, but it was acted exquisitely by Jensen. Very moving moment, like in early seasons.
ReplyDeleteThe garage scene on The Americans was pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteDean's prayer had me in tears on my couch. I had to reassure my family that I was physically alright, only emotionally broken. This show will kill you. Dean needs his angel back.
ReplyDeleteDeans prayer is one of the few times we really get to see how much Dean really worries. He tries to put up this constant facade of calm and collected, but we know he's broken, and this scene we really get to see how he really feels about the situation.
ReplyDeleteThe whole while Cas has been gone, Dean just brings it up to Sam in casual conversation. He's afraid to let his emotions show; he doesn't want Sam to know that he's worrying, because that would make him less strong.
At the end of the scene, he turns around, expecting Cas to be there--because that's what Cas does. He appears at random, when the Winchesters (or Dean) need(s) him the most. Castiel told Dean that he didn't want to go back to Heaven because he was afraid of seeing what he had done. He was afraid he would kill himself.
And for Dean, sitting there without hearing word from the angel for days while trying to keep a calm demeanor is almost unbearable. Somewhere deep inside his head, he's thinking of all the horrible things Castiel might have done to himself. And by telling Cas to watch over Sammy, he's subconsciously telling himself that Cas is okay--that he's going to come back. Because somebody needs to watch over his little brother and that someone is going to be his baby in a trenchcoat.
Jensn Ackles leaves me in awe of his work. The way he can say this with only a few heartfelt teary-eyed sentences is what makes this scene perfect. Not many people can pull off playing a man who has literally been to Hell and back again and at this point has nothing but his brother and (maybe) his angel,
thank you tumblr.
ReplyDeleteDean's prayer, definitely.
ReplyDeleteOf course those evil writers had to end on that scene right before the hiatus...
Honey as much as I love your comment truth is Dean prays for Sam and because he belief in Cas it's because he's asking him to take care of what is the most important in his life, his little brother.
ReplyDeleteTop three vote getters? Umm... Have you seen which scene has garnered 77% of the votes yet?
ReplyDeleteActually, it's about both of them. Dean loves Sam the most, but he trusts Cas the most, whichi is why he asks him to protect the most important thing in his life-- Sam. That doesnt mean that Cas isn't really important to Dean, yeah?
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. Hats off to you, man.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this beautiful comment :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a good thing I live alone, because when I watch Swan Song, I am not just crying, I am sobbing so much it is hard to see thru the tears. I do love this show. lol
ReplyDeleteAwesome comment, my feelings said perfectly.
ReplyDeleteDean's prayer to Cas... extremely moving and telling of Dean's character, and Jensen was phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteno offence but check again !
ReplyDeleteI think Dean's prayer deserve to be the scene of the weeks tell march 20 ,
it just beautiful by all means.
Dean's prayer left me in tears! Amazing acting once again :)
ReplyDeleteWell... It's not like we used to lose polls ^^ I can't wait for 20th March
ReplyDeleteActually the Castle scenes were the top three to begin with... and then the Supernatural fandom arrived, lol.
ReplyDeleteI agree-Jensen is really an amazing actor. Should have won many Emmy's by now
ReplyDeleteYou really summed it up beautifully. Jensen should have many Emmys on his mantle by now. He is really an amazing actor
ReplyDeleteWell, it just wouldn't be Supernatural if they didn't make us wait after a super emotional scene.
