Week 14! Thanks everyone for their contribution!
Not a lot going on this time, so my choice this week is:

Show: PERSON OF INTEREST
Episode: “Proteus”
Date: March 7, 2013
Actors: Michael Emerson, Luke Macfarlane, Taraji P. Henson, Sterling K. Brown
The Scene: Finch confrontation with Fake Agent Fahey

I don’t what is it about the show that makes even its filler episode a really great one. Kudos to the brilliant creators for making the series so extraordinary! As for my favorite part of this episode, it’s definitely the showdown between Finch and the fake Agent Fahey, the serial killer.

The dialogue is very well written, with Finch pointing out the differences between the two of them constantly changing their identities. Saving lives vs. destroying them. Not to mention the bit about “Agent Fahey” being amateur at this all. And the mystery behind the glasses. Wow, Finch! I really like this slow character development, learning about our heroes personalities and history with time and like here, seeing the whole new side of them. The acting, as always, is one of the best parts about the scene. Opposite the always amazing Michael Emerson we got Luke MacFarlane with his very good and quite scary performance as a sociopathic killer.

Also, it’s a nice change to see Det. Carter coming Finch to the rescue instead of Reese (though I was hoping he’d show up a bit later) and surprisingly mysterious Det. Beecher. I am interested to see how he fits into the story… Anyway, can’t wait to see what the creators got for us next week.

NOTE: The scene was also picked by Darth Locke and Jimmy Ryan as Scene Of The Week!

“Luke MacFarlane did an excellent job playing this strange intellectual sociopath and this episode was exceptionally creative and an outside the box psychological thriller!” Darth Locke

“I really enjoyed the scene with Finch facing off against Declan (Fahey) at gunpoint, with Finch standing proudly on the fact that he saves lives while Declan (Fahey) takes them. Finch also says Declan (Fahey) "is an amateur at this" when talking about assuming people's identities” Jimmy Ryan

Honorable mentions:
Go On, “Double Down”, March 5, 2013 - Ryan and Anne send their rings away
Community, "Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations”, March 7, 2013 - Jeff's speech to his father

And here’s more of SpoilerTV Team members’ favorite scenes:

Elizabeth and Philip are "interrogated"

Banshee, “Always the Cowboy”, March 8, 2013, Actor: Ivana Miličević
The Scene:
Epic fight scene between Anastasia and the Russian Mob guy
NOTE: I spent all week catching up with this series. It's awesome!

FROM KLUTZY GIRL

Community, "Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations”, March 7, 2013, Actor: Joel McHale
The Scene:
Jeff's speech to his father about how he's broken and it's all his fault.

FROM BRADLEY ADAMS

NCIS, “Prime Suspect”, March 5, 2013, Actor: Michael Weatherly
The Scene:
The scene where Tony reads the expenses report on his desk where Vance and Dorneget were trying to play a joke on him was great.

NCIS: LA, “Wanted”, March 5, 2013, Actor: Eric Christian Olsen
The Scene:

FROM DARTH LOCKE

Once Upon A Time, “The Queen is Dead”, March 3, 2013, Actors: Bailee Madison, Lesley Nicol, Rena Sofer
The Scene:
The Queen (Snow White's Mother) teaches her daughter the value in treating all people fairly, as Snow White scolds Johanna for wearing Snow's upcoming Tiara.

FROM JAMIE COUDEVILLE

The Lying Game, “The Grave Truth”, March 5, 2013, Actor: Andy Buckley
The Scene:
Ted finds out about the twins
I just loved this scene, I had been looking forward to this moment for a while, and their hug was so adorable. Definitly one of my favorite scenes of this show

FROM ROBIN SMYTH

Justified, “The Hatchet Tour”, March 5, 2013, Actors: Timothy Olyphant, Brent Sexton
The Scene:
Raylan lying to Hunter about what his father's last words to him were because he corrected it to what they should have been opposed to "kiss my a--."

FROM JIMMY RYAN

The Following, “Let Me Go”, March 4, 2013, Actor: James Purefoy
The Scene:
The scene where Carroll finally arrives at the house to meet his followers in the last 5 minutes of last Monday's episode was one of the most eerie, uneasy scenes I've ever seen. The darkness of the night coupled with the darkness of the man and his followers, the innocence of Joey in the presence of evil, and "If I Had A Heart" by Fever Ray as a backing track, came together in a pretty amazing way considering the subject of the scene itself.

NOTE: The scene was also picked by Sharon Seymour as Scene Of The Week!

  3. Jeff's speech to his father was heartbreaking

  4. Very good indeed. A lot of violence and nudity so only watch if you are ok with those. I felt like I was holding my breathe throughout the episode. I haven't been on the edge of my seat like that in quite a while.

  5. Banshee is probably the best new show of this year. and this fight scene was fantastic.

  6. Nikita's last episode had amazing scenes!

  7. Synopsis.

"Banshee takes place in the fictional small town of Banshee, Pennsylvania. After serving 15 years in prison for stealing diamonds from Ukrainian gangster Mr. Rabbit, the unnamed protagonist travels to Banshee to find his heist accomplice and former lover, Anastasia. When he finds her, the protagonist learns that she is now a married mother of two living under the assumed identity of Carrie Hopewell. Later, when the incoming Sheriff is killed, the protagonist takes on his identity as Lucas Hood, becoming the town's new Sheriff. Banshee sees Hood struggle with adapting to his new identity while dealing with the machinations of local crime lord Kai Proctor, and remaining hidden from Rabbit."

  8. As desribed by some reporter. Noir style drame interspersed with "shocking violence and sex" :)

  9. I wanted to see this, but I don't get Cinemax. So I'll probably have to wait for the DVD, but it sounds good!

  10. I'm not totally sure what it is either about 'Person Of Interest' that makes every episode so 'WOW,' but I think it is the combination of good leadership(J.J. Abrams/Brian Burke), amazing creativity(Jonah Nolan), and outstanding writing/character development that makes this show so incredible.

  11. Let's see...

    1. THE WALKING DEAD: The return of Morgan. Great character, fantastic actor. It was sad that he turned crazy, and to hear about Duane's death. But man, that was one great scene. ''The good people, they always die. And the bad people do, too. But the weak people... The people like me... We have inherited the earth!''

    2. THE AMERICANS. Great episode overall, as always. The best scene was the ''argument of the week'' between Elizabeth and Phillip. They don't trust each other anymore, and that's quite sad.

    3. THE FOLLOWING: I've accepted the show's ridiculous plot by now. :p That last scene (with the song ''If I Had A Heart'', which was brilliantly used on Breaking Bad and POI before) was so good. I was wondering when we would see Joe Carroll's cult, but I didn't expect it this early.

    4. PERSON OF INTEREST: The scene with Finch and the serial killer. The episode itself was a bit predictable, but Michael Emerson killed it, especially in this scene. He took off his glasses for the first time and he reminded me so much of Ben Linus, for the first time on this show. We've never seen Finch angry like that before. Emerson's acting style changed, and it made me really interested in learning more about Finch... which is saying something for a show in its second season.

  12. Agreed. It's a match made in heaven. I feel like we get the best of both! This episode I really liked, not just as HUGE Bad Robot fan, but because it reminded of my favorite stuff from the Nolan Bros. like Memento, The Prestige, and Inception. (Don't get me wrong POI clearly has Batman-esque stuff within it too, but I just like the other stuff better)

  13. I chose the OUaT, all the more mesmerizing because of Bailee Madison's uncanny resemblance to Ginnifer.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Nicely said! It's definitely one of the most creative and one of the best written shows on TV! And that's just the beginning! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Now I feel like watching the Prestige, Inception and Batman trilogy! Love them all!

  16. Seriously. The casting department is so much better than Cold Case's was when it comes to casting lookalikes. When the show first started, I remember commenting and seeing other comments about how Jennifer and Ginny could actually be mother and daughter or at least sisters.

  17. The entire episode of "The Queen is Dead" was fabulous. Also, Switched at Birth's "Uprising" was phenomenal as a whole. Talking about DPN brought me back to learning about it in high school.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think I could watch The Prestige a million time! -I also can't wait to find out more about Interstellar! (It's like a year and a half a way from being released, but Nolan Bros and Time travel just gets me giddy!)

  19. I keep thinking that they'll have to show us young Regina, Rumple, and Emma at some point. Looking forward to seeing who'll they'll find for those roles!

  20. The Lying Game when Ted finds out about the twins. Been waiting forever for this, and it was very touching!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Me too, as well as young Charming and James. Hopefully the lookalike streak will continue for all :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't think this episode is a total filler, because we don't have flashbacks, but the arc of the virus still is the part of the plot and one of the consequences of the six numbers get out is because the machine delay three days before gave Finch the security number.

  23. Your right! They would also be really cool to see! :)

  24. The Person of Interest scene was my favorite this week.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The only issue I had with casting was August/Pinocchio. The actors didn't look alike in any way. Otherwise, yes, they've had great castings of younger versions of people.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love Person of Interest and very much enjoy others on this list, but Jeff's speech to his father on Community tops them all for scene of the week. Perfect for the show and the character.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. It's been so long since we've seen both young Pinocchio and adult August. The casting department's one miss.

  28. Just like Sharon I've spent all week catching up with this show! It's so ridiculously good! I don't know how it stayed under my radar for so long.
