Ratings News - 30th March 2013 (Full Tables Posted)
30 Mar 2013
Cancelled Shows Grimm Nikita RatingsThis table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)
Each day (except Sunday) we post the TV Ratings for the previous night.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below)
If you’re interested in Ratings/Renewal/Cancellations then we have a number of resources here at SpoilerTV that we recommend you check out.
Nice job ABC killing off an enjoyable show for d-list celebrity housewife swap
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Nikita's steady. It's still lower than I'd like, obviously, but at least the short hiatus didn't kill the ratings, as has happened before. Nikita has moved around a bit, but on average it's about where it was last season, when it got renewed. If the overall landscape of the CW had improved drastically this season, I might be worried, but with most of their shows still struggling, and Nikita being even closer to syndication now, I'm pretty confident. I'd be very happy if it could keep ticking up to a .5 occasionally though. I mean, I'd like it to be even higher, but I'm trying to keep my hopes realistic...
ReplyDeletePoor Happy Endings :(
ReplyDeletePoor Happy Endings. But it is about what I expected though. Also NBC is really trying their best to kill Grimm. That Fashion Star lead-in in one of the worst combos I have seen on TV recently, what a stupid idea
ReplyDeleteTBS, pretty please :)
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to wait for the cable shows numbers come out.
ReplyDeleteGreat Nikita ratings considering daylight saving and Easter
ReplyDeleteI was referring to Cougar Town renewal by TBS last year ;)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, good for the show and the fans. :P.
ReplyDeletePoor Grimm, it's sandwiched between 2 terrible shows and came off a long hiatus, at least it's still doing better than most of the shows in the network.
ReplyDeleteWith the breaks in Nikita's schedule over, hopefully it can stay steady and occasionally tick up to 0.5.
ReplyDeleteI think TBS could seriously consider taking Happy Endings :
ReplyDeleteOn Tuesdays, they have two reruns of TBBT (9-10pm) followed by a new episode of Cougar Town (10-10:30) and then another TBBT repeat (10:30-11) until Conan. How about having original programming for two straight hours and put Happy Endings S4 at 10:30pm? After this season, Happy Endings only needs 31 episodes to get to syndication territory ; TBS ordered 28 episodes (15+13) of Cougar Town, exactly the amount of episodes the show needed for syndication (88 episodes), so doing almost the same commitment to Happy Endings doesn't seem that far-fetched. They have "Friends with wine", now they could get "Friends in the 2010s" (I understand TBS airs reruns of Friends). That would work.
Because 0.8 is not acceptable, sadly I think the Tim Allen show and whatever is on after that had better ratings. But these episodes did air after the show being off the air for a while and having experimented three different nights over the past few months (Tuesdays at 9, Sundays at 10, now Fridays at 8).
And don't put that on the fans, ABC. You know damn well all that matters are the 25,000 Nielsen families.
I agree. It is still doing way better than most of the network, but it deserves to be way higher. I don't understand what is NBC thinking in sandwiching it like this after such a long hiatus. I don't have a problem with long hiatus and I think they are often better than on and off repeats, but they need companion shows for it badly. Hell, at this point a lineup of Grimm repeat/ Grimm/Hannibal (which is DOA on Thursday) would likely do better!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, NBC is constantly screwing themselves, many of their other shows can barely even hold on to a 1.0.
ReplyDeleteNikits'a ratings have been pretty much redundant this season, if CW were willing enough to renew it for a season 3 with the low ratings it had in season 2 then why wouldnt they just suck it up and renew it for a 4th season regardless of the poor ratings of season 3 for the sake of getting it to syndication so they might recoup some of the money they lost in having such a low rated show on the air for so many years?
ReplyDeleteIts pretty much widely expected that Nikita will be rated for 4th and final season to get it to syndication.
Hell's Kitchen and Fringe had a horrible combo
ReplyDeleteGood point, but I still think this one is worse, although they are on the same level of awfulness
ReplyDeleteI hope TBS will pick up Happy Endings if Cancelled Pretty Please they did it for Cougar Town so why not Happy Endings too?
ReplyDeleteMan low numbers on Friday.
