I am so glad this show is back! Not surprised Danny died, but that was still. And what the hell at Rachel pulling that out of him at the end. Tracking device?
Oh man, i stopped watching halfway in the episode. So maning missing scene, it was hard to really get in the episode 1 second they're running, the next they're escaping, the next its reunion hugs....in barely couple of minutes. Who was going where, why, how, to do what? A HUGE pacing mess in this episode. I might watch the end just to see what's everyone talking about on the thing in Danny
All I could think when Danny died was, "Are you telling me I sat through a kazillion hours of WHINING CHARLIE and stupidity to save this idiot and he's dead before the end of the next episode?!" Seriously, that really pissed me off. It's like the whole arc leading up to now was a waste of our time. That's what you get for just standing there like an idiot anyhow, Danny.
I think it might've been the device keeping him alive. There were flashbacks to an operation which she and the father said was his only chance to live. Dunno if there's a larger purpose for it, or if she's taking it as something of his to keep.
Good Work casting that lil Charlie! She was that good and similar to grown up Charlie that I hated her too from the first moment I saw her! Is it me or Tracy Spiridakos plays a downsized version of Kate Austen and her acting technique is based in something like "We, pretty chicks ain´t have to try hard, cuz we pretty"
KIlling major characters is a risky strategy, but it is at least realistic. If they were really being realistic, though,EVERYONE would have been wasted in that first chopper attack.
Wow, I thought for sure Aaron was going to be the one dying. Never thought they would have the guts to kill Danny. But really, it was needed. The actor sealed its fate, he was really very weak at acting IMO, I think that is why he was killed, I doubt that was the original intention so early on the show's run. But it worked for me. I loved the episode. I think they can improve a bit when it comes to pacing, it was a bit all over the pace, but overall very good episode. I hope the audience is still there after all this time, I thought it came back stronger than it left
l actually blame the writers for Charlie l've seen Tracys work before and it was in my opinion far better than Charlie - in spades This the only role l've seen of her were it doesn't work but it should The writing made Charlie annoying one day, sympathetic , teenybooperish and then annoying again which in my opinion make her look bad which she isn't.
l know shes pretty but her other roles even when she was playing the bad guy where no way a big emphasis on that l actually never thought too much about her looks because she did a good job with her characters.
if you take a really good actress and make her play Charlie with the same writing the actor will be bad regardless of how good they are because the character is badly written.
Pros. *Can't deny it was action packed and nice to see some electric things in action. *Nice intriguing ending. This show has just enough mystery to keep me coming back: What was the bluey-flashy-lighty-thingy? I think the implication is that that thing was keeping Danny alive DESPITE the power cut, so that's something to ponder. What was this about a tower and 'level 12'?
Cons. *How could someone fly a chopper like that with a 15 year gap? it's not exactly riding a bike. Even if they were experienced pilots before the black-out, I'm sure they couldn't have just jumped straight into a chopper after 15 years without some rustiness. *No way they would have escaped unscathed from the missile at the beginning. *Terrible acting from the guy with the sonic gun. *You seriously kill off the guy that we've just spent the entire first half of the season trying to rescue? come off it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Fingers crossed that NBC's gambit worked, but I'm not holding my breath.

I agree that anyone would have a hard time playing Charlie as written early on in a way that made her sympathetic.
ReplyDeleteBut Aaron's acting is equally atrocious, so why haven't they killed him off yet, hehe.

I thought that fridge sequence was hilarious. Reminded me of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the nuke.
ReplyDeletelol! Not THAT bad, surely!
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode and great return, but I think is early to kill Danny.
