its ok, but if I am going with my gut instinct it won't last. It just didn't have a strong enough appeal like the big shows on tv now. We'll c what happens after initial ratings come in then we can judge.
I thought it was fantastic for a Pilot and second episode!! It was filmed very well. The dialogue was good and the cast acted very natural towards each other! The female lead is a STRONG one and Schiller(sp?) is an interesting villain.
I have been reading a lot of mixed reviews with people comparing it unfairly to cable shows, such as Breaking Bad. It's true it's not going measure on those scales. It won't get to be rated R and beyond, but when we compare it to things on the networks, I think it already stands out compared to other family-orientated criminal dramas out there!
Awful. Another ABC show about beautiful spoiled people and their "problems". I had enough after about 30 minutes. You might enjoy it if you're a housewife and up till recently you didn't know that there other shows besides soap operas.
It's unfair to compare it to Breaking Bad because as a cable show, BB has a lot more room to get edgy.
I thought the pilot was interesting but a bit slow (too many beautiful people in beautiful houses) but once Schiller was introduced (a very bad guy with a ton of charisma) and the wife became less naive, it picked up.
I think they made 8 episodes; I hope ABC will air them all.
It's not bad. I liked seeing Rob Roland (Bob) on TV again. I didn't know what to expect, but I don't know if it will be enough to keep me tuning in on Sunday nights.
That's what I was saying...I was disagreeing specifically with the NYT's reviewer who compared those Red Widow to that, because I agree they can't get as edgy since it is Network TV...
Actually a fairly strong pilot and 2nd episode.... Strong premise, good actors, no gimmicky plot devices, no wise-cracking sidekicks or obvious love triangles.... So far so good.
That said, with no young skewing lead actors it is doomed to fail. I'm guessing the ratings will be strong enough for ABC to show all of the 8 or 9 episodes of Season 1, but that probably will be the end of the series.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteWow, just wow. There was almost nothing left of the original. The script of the Dutch show this was based on, was extensively rewritten. Such a shame.

Poor all around.

ReplyDeleteYou should have waited for the second hour.
ReplyDeleteThe first one wasn't strong but it got a lot more interesting afterwards.
