  3. Loved it! I love where they're taking Alex and Nikita's relationship. Alex is growing up. Unfortunately she's turned out to be just like Nikita. Which is all fine and good when she and Nikita agree. I don't think they're going to get through this until Nikita moves Alex from 'child to peer' in her mind.

Here's the thing that I'm absolutely loving about the character work this season. The conflicts they're playing with a character organic. They're not standard soap opera cliche arguments. The struggles that Nikita and Michael dealt with after his hand was cut off made perfect sense. Alex and Nikita....makes perfect sense.

All of that and the action was awesome!

  4. Every character in this show has evolved and become much more complex and the pace of the episodes are incredible. Yeah! Come on, Season 4, it's soooo worth it.

  5. I loved this episode. Alex and Amanda scenes were great, although I guess I found myself thinking there wasn't enough of them…maybe that's just me being greedy. I hated how Ryan tried to keep the fact that there was a kill chip in Ari's head away from Nikita..like really? Ha, I guess everyone should have listened to Birkhoff. I was just as mad when Michael also wanted to keep it from Nikita as well. Sean and Owen, ha, Sean feeling threatened by Owen after just one conversation with Alex. Owen is right, Sean needs to work out his problems with Alex.

I keep wondering why Alex always seems to fall prey to Amanda's manipulation. The way I try to rationalize it in my own head is that whenever Amanda tries to manipulate Alex, there is usually truth in what she says…is that messed up or is it just me? For example, when Amanda said that it always about what Nikita wants, that's actually quite true. I can see where Alex comes in conflict with that this episode, compared to how she followed Nikita in the past. They usually agree about the same thing, but when they don't it gets a little messy because they are both quite stubborn. But Alex and Nikita have such a long history of good times, does this mean this one episode will get the ball rolling for some major rocky roads ahead?

I'm not sure where I stand with Ari dying, R.I.P.. I knew he would die this episode, just a feeling, I just wasn't sure how. I hate how the writers blur the lines between black and white..lol..(but I really love it) I hate when I feel conflict with myself when there is a death like Ari's. Semi-bad guy in the beginning, unsuspecting "hero" in the end. I guess my conclusion on his death was if he didn't epically sneak the Black Box into his pocket, and therefore to Nikita, I would have not cared about his death as much as I do. Amanda looked a little hurt when she shot Ari.

That end scene was chilling to me. Nikita and Alex's current/upcoming conflict is much more different than it was in the past. Alex had a legit reason to be mad at Nikita, she killed her father and never trusted her enough to tell her. Now it's about Nikita not having Alex's back, like Alex had Nikita's back in the past, and how Nikita treats Alex like her way is the right way to do things…I'm actually sort of confused. I loved it when they fought in the past, but now I don't think I'm going to like it so much. It feels like Alex's mind is going into a dark place, but I fear what Amanda is going to manipulate Alex into doing. I just wanted to slap Ryan when he came and acted like it was a win situation, yes it was but at a big cost *cough* Percy *cough*. Nikita and Alex, looked like they wanted to confront each other but didn't know what to say, and then Ryan ironically announced what a great team the both of them were. And then as if that wasn't enough, they then engaged in a stare down where Alex looked betrayed and Nikita looked like she had seen a demon in Alex. Every season that passes, Alex looks more and more…darker.

I guess I will stop ranting now...

  6. Loved the ep, and don't mind that they have Alex and Niki at odds with each other - Family will fight one another now and again, but don't like it that it was triggered by the manipulations of Amanda. Of course the sisters will work it out in the end and will be better for it, but it'll be interesting in the meantime. Kinda bummer that Ari died, but I guess his time was done. Now all the baddies out there are Amanda and the shadowy Illuminati group from last season

  7. I kinda agree with Alex's choice of saving an innocent woman vs saving Ari, especially the things she went through that Ari had a hand in or was directly responsible for. Considering his past, I don't like Nikita's 180 in regards to him.

  8. That's where it has me conflicted as well. In both Alex's and Nikita's mind, they want to try and save the innocent. But Nikita wants to save someone who had already done so many wrongs to Nikita and Alex. In terms of saving someone that has value to Division, Ari would be the right choice. But in terms of "the right thing to do" Larissa? would have been the best option, if she didn't succumb from her wounds…or die from a grenade launcher:(

  9. That ending enraged me. Nothing happened with Niki and Alex. Everything was left unsaid. I hate that in shows. 30 seconds of talking would have made it so much more interesting. Also love seeing Ryan slowly turning into Percy.

  10. I agree with everything you just said. I actually don't know what the possible outcome for the season finale could be, whether everyone pulls together through all the lies or they break apart further…I fear things will get even worse from here. The only thoughts I had about how this season could possible end is for Alex to end up right back where she started. Taking down Division, but I always thought it would be an interesting twist to see Alex and Amanda working together to take down Division with Nikita and Ryan running it. I'd hate to see Melinda to leave the show, she's such a wonderful actress.

  11. I love the fracture that is opening even wider with Team Nikita. Everybody's going to start choosing sides, while Ryan becomes into Percy more and more. Nikita and Alex are going to end up being enemies soon if they don't solve their differences.

I loved Peter Outerbridge as Ari, and it was kind of fulfilling to see him go down the way he did. He smacked Amanda with that laptop and gave Nikita the black-box. I will miss him.

  12. And to Alex, I'm guessing she feels if they'd all gone for Larissa then they might have saved her, and Nikita is feeling the same regarding Ari - each thinks they made the right choice and failed because the other didn't back them up (though I'm with Alex on this one) - will be interesting to see where it goes but I hope the writers don't have Alex falling for Amandas spiel just because they disagreed.

  13. Well I'm pretty sure Alex isn't just falling for Amanda's manipulations. Amanda seems to have quite a deft hand at using that machine Alex noticed on the way out. She almost used it on Birkoff, used it on Owen, and now there's Alex. I have a feeling things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. However, I've never been that interested in Alex anyway; Owen's backstory is much more interesting to me. Hopefully Nikita and Michael will start having more non-angsty scenes together, too.
