Nick, Hank, Monroe, and Captain Renard, all on the same page--this is what we've been waiting for! And hooray for the introduction of the Wesen Council. A little more intrigue. This my favorite show.
Juliette's hallucination were pretty wild. I think the warped voice is Juliette remembering her conversations with Nick the night the curse took hold.
Monroe was doing pretty well in the bar fight. I was surprised. Like the Wesen Council. I wonder what kind of compensation the "local talent" gets for, essentially, volunteering for a life sentence in prison?
Highlights * Juliette being so happy that Nick was on the phone. * The fact that both Renard and Rosalee contacted DeGroot. (And deGroot has an email addy. :-) * Renard filling Nick in on the way of the world
Well Monroe wasn't always a laid-back clock fixer. He hung out with that other girl before (I forgot her name). So I'm not that surprised he can fight.
Loved both Julliete's recovering scenes and the the wessen council (Great job on the details there, right written and spoken Dutch there). The 10 second exchange between Nick and the Captain was a bit dissapointing, I had hoped for some more!
So glad that Grimm has been back with these last 2 episodes! I guess I wasn't really surprised that Cap, Renard is on the "good side" of things. He would have to be after the whole first season of taking care of Nick. I actually liked the scene between Nick and him in the office when he tells Nick that he's been protecting him for quite awhile without Nick's knowledge.
Also enjoy that Rosalee is part of the Wesen "elite" through her family ties. TPTB needed to give her role even more significance other than just the local herbalist. Monroe and her are always so cute together too!
Poor Juliette! I was sort of mad that the group just let her run off alone without a proper explanation. Was it just me or was she basically trapped on the stairs for what seemed like a whole day? I guess it is just suppose to be the side effect of Nick taking the medicine and she is getting a worse withdrawal than Renard. I would have been trying to bust out the window to escape if it was me!
In "Island of Dreams" Rosalee mentions something that her dad did when she was 17. If her dad died in 1984, that would make her at least 46. I don't think she's supposed to be that old.
I enjoyed the exchange between Nick and Renard. It's okay that it was on the short side, I'm sure there is much more to come between these two. Loved the jabs that Nick was throwing at Renard - he knows they are on much more equal footing now.
''Juliette's hallucination were pretty wild. I think the warped voice is Juliette remembering her conversations with Nick the night the curse took hold.''
That's what I'm thinking! I didn't understand first time around what the voice was saying, but when I re-watched the episode yesterday and understood the ''I want you to learn the truth line'' ...now I need to watch the finale again to see if Nick did say that exact same line
I didn't think this had the strongest MOTW case, but the hallucinations scenes were really creative and well done, and the Wesen council introduction could lead somewhere interesting. Monroe made it sound like bringing in the council was something to be feared and done as a last resort. There must be a good story behind that.
One thing that made me wonder - Nick killed Adalind's hexenbeast side with his blood. Renard just drank a little of his blood. I don't think they'll go anywhere with this, but it would impress me if they did for continuity sake.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Woah! What's happening with Juliette?
ReplyDeleteAnother AWESOME episode :D
ReplyDeleteIt sure took long enough for this show to really get going, but now Grimm is on roll, let's keep this up!
The crazy-ass hallucinations Juliette was having were very entertaining. Well done, Grimm.

ReplyDeleteI'm already hoping for an eventual meeting between Nick and the Wesen Council. That should be hilariously awkward.

Hallucinations or not, what the voice said sounds like when Nick was about to explain everything to Juliette.

They showed the letter that the council sent to Freddy, expressing condolences for his father's death. At the top it was dated 1984.
ReplyDeleteI hope Bud returns soon, love that character. :)
