In yet another sign that the curtain is unlikely to rise on a third season of Smash, Debra Messing has signed on to headline a CBS comedy pilot.
The untitled project — which, coincidentally (or not?), is being written by Smash co-exec producers Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky — is an adaptation of the Israeli series Mother’s Day and centers on a married mom (Messing) struggling to balance family, life, and work

Not surprised to hear this, I expect more cast members to start joining pilots soon
ReplyDeleteLOL So the producers took the worst parts of Smash (Messing's family drama) and made them into their own show? I hope she wears a lot of scarves.
ReplyDeleteIt's still not as bad an idea as it was to bring on a showrunner from Gossip Girl to "fix" Smash in the first place. :)
ReplyDeleteThis show is so sad it had such good premise and now it's nothing. :( But it's lovely to see Debra doing something else.
