Less than 12 hours after Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell announced a Kickstarter campaign, fans have raised the $2 million necessary to fund a Veronica Mars movie. It’s officially on!
“My mind is blown. I’ve been fantasizing about this taking big and had to tell myself, ‘Stop it, Rob, you’re being silly. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment,’” the Mars creator.tells EW. “And now today has exceeded the wildest pipe dream I let myself entertain. Holy cow. We better make a good movie. These amazing fans have stepped up. We better deliver.”
“I knew Veronica Mars fans were cool, but I had no idea they could rally with such power. They are unstoppable — just like Veronica. I will have a permanent blush on my face, feeling so lucky to be associated with this entire thing,” says Bell.

Holy fuck this is amazing. And the amount is still going up!
ReplyDeleteBeat me by seconds! XD
ReplyDeleteI never thought this day would come, and I never thought today would be THE day even after this Kickstarter project was announced!
Simply incredible!!
Now, can we finally see Veronica beat the peroxide out of Madison Sinclair's hair already?!?!?!?! XD
Fucking sweet.
ReplyDeleteProud to say I donated, even though my donation will probably amount to the donut budget one week at craft services.
Been glued to the total going up all day, amazing or what? Closure at last!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIF they get enough maybe they will have a re-animated/ cyborg Lilly ?
ReplyDeleteOr Weevil running his own Pimp My Car / West Coast Customs type garage?
Nah, he got out of that culture and went into construction. 'Weevils Wobble But They Don't Fall Down' Earthquake-Proofing Services.
ReplyDeleteHa!!
ReplyDeleteWell, that could come in handy... When Veronica comes back to Neptune I'm sure some natural (or unnatural) disaster is not far behind!
But think about all the lovely donuts the cast and crew will eat while filming something for your efforts! :D
ReplyDeleteI personally have instituted an annual re-watch of the series... this year's looks like it will be happening early and it may become more like a semiannual event. :)
ReplyDeleteMy body is so ready.
ReplyDeleteF***, that was fast! They even didn't include international fanbase, only US fans... This is incredible! Go on Veronica!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that they got their wish and that the fans keep giving, just reaching 2.5 million!
