“THE FOSTERS,” “TWISTED” AND “THE VINEYARD”

ABC Family Hit Original Series “Melissa & Joey,” “Baby Daddy,” “Switched At Birth”

and “Pretty Little Liars” Return with All-New Episodes

Burbank, CA (March 11, 2013) – ABC Family announces a red-hot summer line-up with the premiere of four new original series including reality competition series “Dancing Fools,” family drama “The Fosters,” mystery drama “Twisted” and docu-soap “The Vineyard.” Summer premiere dates are also set for returning original series “Melissa & Joey,” “Baby Daddy,” “Switched At Birth” and “Pretty Little Liars.”

“Dancing Fools” premieres Wednesday, May 29th, at 9:00 – 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. The half-hour comedy clip show features the funniest, most outrageous and memorable dances caught on camera. The dancers from the top two clips of the week compete on stage for a chance to win $10,000. The series is hosted by Melissa Peterman, who also stars in ABC Family’s “Baby Daddy” and in the upcoming ABC reality series “Bet on Your Baby.”

From executive producer Jennifer Lopez (“American Idol,” “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” “The Back-Up Plan”), ABC Family’s new original series “The Fosters” will premiere on Monday, June 3rd, at 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, following the series finale of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.” The one-hour drama centers on two moms (Teri Polo and Sherri Saum) raising a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids. The series also stars Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez.

“Twisted,” premiering on Tuesday, June 11th, at 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, is a one-hour mystery full of twists and turns that is centered on a charismatic 16-year-old with a troubled past (Avan Jogia) who has recently reconnected with his two female best friends from childhood (Maddie Hasson and Kylie Bunbury). He becomes the Prime Suspect when a fellow student is found dead in her home. The series also stars Kimberly Quinn, Sam Robards, Ashton Moio and Denise Richards.

“The Vineyard,” premiering on Wednesday, July 24th, at 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, is a dramatic coming-of-age docu-soap that follows a handful of 20-somethings on Martha’s Vineyard for the summer. Tight quarters, new friends and new rivals, all living, working and playing together, make this picturesque playground ripe for mischief and romance.

Other original series scheduled to premiere this summer include hit comedies “Melissa & Joey” and “Baby Daddy” and fan favorites “Switched At Birth” and “Pretty Little Liars.”

“Melissa & Joey,” the hit comedy starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence returns for the third season of the original series on Wednesday, May 29th, at 8:00 – 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. Mel, a local politician and a former wild child, and Joe, her down-on-his-luck “manny,” work together to raise Mel’s teenaged niece Lennox and nephew Ryder.

“Baby Daddy,” the #1 new cable comedy of Summer 2012 in key female demos, returns with new episodes for its second season on Wednesday, May 29th, at 8:30 – 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The series follows single dad Ben, his brother Danny, his buddy Tucker, and his close childhood friend (and secret admirer) Riley as they navigate single life in New York City under the constant supervision of Ben’s overbearing mother, Bonnie.

“Switched At Birth” returns with all new episodes on Monday, June 10th, 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Now in its second season, the award-winning family drama focuses on two teenage girls from very different homes who were accidentally Switched At Birth and are getting to know their biological families and each other. The series explores blended families and deaf culture, with an array of deaf and hard-of-hearing actors, and includes scenes shot entirely in American Sign Language.

“Pretty Little Liars” returns for its fourth season on Tuesday, June 11th, at 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The hit series revolves around four teenage girlfriends who lost touch with one another after the mysterious death of a friend, Alison. The girls are suddenly reunited when they each begin receiving messages suggesting Alison is actually alive – and watching them.

  1. Nothing about The Lying Game or Bunheads. Not a good sign...

  2. does anyone know how many episodes of Melissa & Joey season 3 will have?

  3. I don't think ABCFam have confirmed that yet.

  4. Bunheads I would say isn't likely to return. The Lying Game has been even in ratings compared to last year, so if they cancel it's that's like a big slap in the face to fans.

  5. I really like how little downtime PLL has. It always seems to end a season and then start the next one a couple months later.

  6. Thats because they aren't summer shows

  7. Last 2 season of Pretty Little Liars was on Mondays during the summer, but seems they will keep it on Tuesdays like now

  8. I actually disagree because not only is bunheads critically acclaimed it had more or less stable ratings.. and i think that people only watch TLG because of PLL well lets hope for the best i guess..

  9. TLG will most likely snag 10-13 episodes to premiere in January if Twisted flops. It could be ABCF's filler series.

  10. I'm looking forward to The Fosters. It seems like a good pairing for Switched. I'm glad that Switched at Birth will be back in the summer when everything else I watch is on break. Bummed that ABC Family didn't say anything on Bunheads. I hope it gets renewed soon.

  11. Not looking good for The Lying Game. The winter finale may be series finale. It doesn't make sense for 10 episodes for winter. And wait another year for 10 episodes. It may be gone Inless ABC Fmaily airs second half of season In fall.

  12. Bunheads premiered last summer Tarot

  13. It's not good for them to consently be off the air so long.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh No! I thought that ABC will air those 8 unaired episodes of "Don't trust the B---- in Apt23" this summer. Maybe smth will change? I love this show!

  15. It wasn't on Mondays during the summer. It's always been on Tuesdays during the summer. The only times PLL has aired on Mondays has been for S1b and S2b, which were both aired in winter. It's S3b that has bucked the trend and stayed on Tuesdays.

  16. TLG will probably get another season (though it might be its LAST season, if it gets renewed again). Bunheads is most likely going to get cancelled, since it's ABCF's weakest show in comparison.

  17. in truth viwers for bunheads have declined since it returned its fallen below a million viewers this year The lying game rating would be higher if pretty little liars fans were interested in the show TLG does not hold much of PLL'S Audience but its stable the people watching it are clearly happy with it the critics are also praising the shows second season over PLL even claiming its one of the best shows on family bunheads is good too but abc family can do anything

That's ABC Family, not ABC. Two completely different channels.

  19. I guess it's getting either the Jane by Design treatment or it will premiere in the spring of 2014

  20. Oh really? Thanks! I will we wait for information about ABC summer schedule.
