They must not have been that far from Rick's home town. Funny Rick didn't know about the prison being he is a cop and it's within reasonable driving distance from his home. What happened to all the walmart's and sam's club stores. They are well stocked and built like fortresses lol
I heard it was a special episode....so I'm sitting here thinkging "OH MY GOD DOES IT FINALLY HAPPEN WITH CAROL AND DARYL?!" but no. On the plus side, I'm insanely happy they're doing more with Michonne!!!!!!!! She's by far my favorite.
I'm really puzzled because of the man with the bag-pack. Surely it would have been hard for him to survive by himself, impossible even. Also, if Morgan could not remember Rick but yet he wrote 'Ricks house burn't down' then it doesn't really make much sense to me. I can't see the walking dead bringing Morgan into it if they are going to take him back out again so hoping to see him at the prison sometime soon. TWD is a fantastic show but to me they need to start being more organised with storylines!
it's totally implied that they've been doing it awhile. don't you remember when she casually asked if he wanted to fool around? he passed it off like they'd been married for 20 years.
I'm sure those places were well cleaned out of their supplies during and in the months after the outbreak. And I think the prison is much farther away from where Rick used to live. In the comic, Rick lived in Kentucky, IIRC, so that made more sense he didn't know.
Morgan must've wrote it earlier on, when he still remembered Rick and had more of his wits about him. I'm a bit disappointed they show Morgan just to leave him behind, but maybe Morgan's never going to join the group in the show. Or during this season or the next. I'm not sure what filming commitments Morgan's actor has right now.
Somewhere I had heard Kirkman was really looking forward to this episode and that it would change Rick forever.... dont really see why its that groundbreaking. Fingers crossed the Rick meeting the Governor for the first time scene lives up to the hype.
I want to know who dies in the confrontation between Rick and the Govenor. I know the Govenor takes someone from the group and kind of suspect who he takes but who is going to die? I need to know! LOL
This is 100% legit. This is from the same source that gave us the Episode 11 synopsis. The Episode #11 synopsis was posted on February 15th, 2013, 9 days before episode 11 aired, was 100% legit. http://spoilthedead.com/forum/showthread.php?2005-RUMOR-New-Episode-11-Summary-Synopsis
QUESTION RE: COMIC: Is Rick THIS unlikeable in the series? I'm starting to "opt out" because I don't even like him anymore, so I'm barely emotionally invested in the show.
You REALLY have to suspend belief. Why would anyone drive 6 hours to get guns? And not recruit any living person as a soldier, but leave them to die? And for the record Stone Mtn. is east of Atlanta, not North. It's getting silly, and sloppy.
I think leaving the person behind just shows how cold all three of those particular characters are or have become. None of them seemed to have made a deal about driving on by when the person clearly wanted someone to help him/her. Michonne's been that way, as we're led to believe, since the big turning. And Rick and Carl have become that way after dealing with people. I don't like that eight month time jump because a lot could've happened to explain the colder behavior. Maybe they have run into other survivors in that time, who ended up trying to screw them over for various reasons. I get why they did it - not wanting to deal with winter in Georgia and putting distance between them and Barnageddon - but it's not helping character development a whole lot.
then why is anyone engaged with this story if you don't give a crap about the lead character? is there some redeeming stuff here and there (I have read the first few comics, but that's all). thanks for your 2 cents.
see- that's where the storytelling gets sloppy. cynthiana, KY is 2 states and 6 hrs away. they say they're going up 85, but that leads to NC (not TN, and KY). then there is a Stone Mtn. ref. in Clear. i'm no expert, but usually a script suprvr or even a PA checks this stuff out. oh- and the biggest blooper of all is the famous shot of rick on horse "entering" ATL... that's from the East (yes, I lived in ATL). ...but i'm still watching! :)
I'm in it for the rest of the characters. My favorites have all been other mains or even the more secondary characters. They're the ones who make me want to keep buying the trades and read the new issues month to month. Rick ... I've been fairly well done with him since they stepped foot in Alexandria around the mid-#60s. It's been a collection of things, mostly his continued stupid decision making, which is really irritating me in the last five issues with a new "villain" character. And I don't think it's uncommon for people to not like a main character and still watch/read a series. I generally don't like the leads in shows but enjoy the rest of the characters/stories. Ones I can think of off the top of my head are Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Clark Kent in Smallville.
Man, I wish I knew! I wholly believe Andrea's done for by the end of the season. But from the prison ... maybe Hershel? Or maybe even Judith. Honestly, I'd rather lose the baby than Hershel. Took a while but he's begun to live up to his comic counterpart since the end of last season.
I think that's really the point. Not to show you what transpired over those 8 months. The fact that after so long, they seemed to hardly be phased by anything that happened really makes you wonder JUST what happened, who they met, what they did, and what they had to go through over the course of those months. I really liked seeing that they were all so used to the routine of raiding a house, sticking to a specific combat formation, and using survival instincts you wouldn't expect from the average person living in a typical society. It's part of the mystery, and mysteries in television shows and movies and books are what make us wonder, and think deeply, and generally make us so anxious to hear what happens next, or what happened before, even if we never know, it's our imaginations that make the story all the more likable.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI know! Are carol and Daryl gonna do it already?!

ReplyDeleteLove the Michonne/Carl bonding. There was a bit of that in the comics so im glad they're going on that route in the show too.

ReplyDeleteThe last two of these have been dead on.

ReplyDeleteThat were Maggie und Glenn

ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I think it's sloppy storytelling and I'm close to opting out. :(

ReplyDeleteRick is WORSE in the comic, IMHO.

ReplyDeleteActually, I think the point was to show that no one can survive alone in this new world order.
ReplyDeleteNot really digging that there's no prison group in this one - but I'm happy to see Morgan again.
