    It was kinda a joke. Because how silly would it be for them to be having strategy powpows with a furious Klaus pacing like 10 feet away.

    What if they somehow manage to get rid of Klaus and that is the 'somber' news to Rebekah. I know the next episode (4.16) is a flashback one (with King Elijah returning wooop) so maybe it's something to do with the hunters. Of course there is the spin-off, so he's still going to be alive but not in Mystic Falls .. maybe.

    Other spoilers say that Damon will die in 4x15. They say that they're going to kill him and Elena will turn off her 'humanity switch'.
