The Tomorrow People - Peyton List is the female lead

17 Feb 2013

Peyton List has landed the female lead in the Tomorrow People, the CW pilot with a similar concept to X-Men but more in the style of 'The Nine Lives of Chloe King' revolves around several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil. List will play Cara, the female member of the “Tomorrow People” group who has a sense of humor beneath her serious demeanor and seems to be a trustworthy ally.

  1. It's this Peyton List: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peyton_List_(actress_born_1986)

She had a role in Mad Men.

  2. There's no way this Peyton List should be playing a high school teen. I didn't even buy her as a high school teen when she guest starred on Smallville.

  3. Well they've already lost the "teen" aspect, so don't give up hope! :)

I tuned out when they said "forces of evil." Maybe get a little more specific.

  4. I could not agree more, I love it when I imagine it a la the early days of heroes or alphas, I don't like it when they bring in high school and the likes. I think that the cw will pick 4 new ones for fall. It is one more than last year but I kind of think the originals is sort of self promoted among the tvd's fans, I doubt it needs a loot of promotion like a new show. I think the originals and the selection are sure things. Then, from the descriptions I would go with the tomorrow people and the hundred and I would greenlight oxygen to replace the lowest performing new show, since oxygen seems to be one that could fit with basically any show on the cw (as opposed to something like cult and hart of dixie this year). But the problem is that I am not sure what out of the selection, the hundred and the tomorrow people will fit with hart of dixie, so company town or blink might be picked up instead of one of these.

  5. Ha! Oddly enough 20-somethings having high school drama is even less appealing.

  6. I don't see them doing straight up genre next year either so I am thinking HoD and Company Town myself. Of course, it will all depend on how well the pilots test and what the ratings end up being for bubble shows.

  7. Should've known. It will be another painfull to watch wannabe teenager in a CW show, line Nina Dorev (who I love, but can't pass as an 18 year old to save her life), Paul Wesley (who I don't, and also wouldn't even look 18 to a blind person) and most of those 90210 actors.
This people never learn. God foorvid the show is actually succesful, because then they'll have a cast of almost 30, still pretending to be in highschool, in only a couple of years...

  8. it's mad men's Peyton List-the older Peyton not the younger one from Jessie.
Why the SAG has allowed two actresses with the same name is beyond me.
    Congrats to Peyton!

  11. I waver on this one every time they change the description. When they focus on the sci fi, it sounds awesome. When they start talking love triangles, I tune out. Let's hope if they pick it up, they will lose the teen drama aspect quickly.

OMG! A real 15/16 year old, who'll be playing a character of her age! it's a miracle, people!
