Alex Graves will direct and executive produce The Selection. Written by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain, Selection is based on the book by Keira Cass. Set 300 years in the future, the epic romance centers on a working-class young woman chosen by lottery to participate in a competition with 25 other women for the Royal Prince’s hand to become the nation’s next queen. Last year, Graves directed the pilot for ABC’s horror/mystery drama 666 Park Ave. He also helmed the pilot for Fox’s Fringe as virtually all of his pilots have gone to series. Additionally, Graves directed the two-hour opener of Fox’s Terra Nova,Graves also recently directed episodes for HBO's Game of Thrones
In other CW pilot directing news Bharat Nalluri(Emily Owens MD pilot director) will direct the pilot for The Hundred

  1. I have a feeling The Selection will see at least 13 episodes this upcoming Season.

  2. That really isn't a great resume though. Fringe pilot is the best of the three, and wasn't that great anyway. The other two were downright horrible.

  4. it's actually The Bachelor set in a dystopian settings .. there's nothing like Hunger Games in the book, promoting it as one is not accurate..

  5. You didn't make it sound any better, regardless of what its suppose to be like..still sounds like its going to suck,at least to me.

  6. I wasn't trying to make it better, I was trying to correct a perspective.. I actually read the book and it was nice and totally CW-material (speaking of course of princes and teen drama).. that's just what I thought..

  7. I just knew it'll be Alex Graves. They give him the pilot for seemingly every vaguely sci-fi show. Fringe, Journeyman, Alcatraz, 666 and so on. The problem with this is that no-one actually likes his pilots that much.

  8. The selection's desciption is so cheesy that I haven't seen in decades, yet oddly super attractive. it reminds me of some japanese girl manga last century. I think that director's resume is good enough, it's the cw, what more can you expect, and to be honest I think the fringe and terra Nova opener is more a script failure than a director failure

  9. I have a feeling it will probably get picked up for the fall. Whether or not it will be worth it though, is a WHOLE other matter.....
