    What? Why do they keep saying Ethan broke up with Sutton? (last episode he told it to Emma, now Sutton tells him that) Is my memory wrong? I thought Sutton broke up with him after finding she was played at the dance...

    Sutton still doesn't get that she's earned her bad, untrustworthy reputation with everyone she knows including Ethan. Emma didn't have to tell Ethan not to trust Sutton. He knew that already.

    It's regarding his actions. He 'betrayed' her to help Emma (and Thayer). Actions speak louder than words. He didn't have to tell her she was dumped, it was clear as day.
