Thanks to Elena for the heads up.
Actor John Reardon took time out of his busy schedule to chat about his guest role in Wednesday’s ‘Supernatural’ episode ‘Remember the Titans.’ Reardon will play a bearded drifter who has no idea who he is. A huge SciFi geek himself, he is enjoying his work on the SyFy Channel show ‘Continuum,’ and has nothing but good things to say about his ‘Supernatural’ experience.
Q. What is it like being a guest actor on the set of ‘Supernatural’?
It was great. The show is in its 8th season and is a well-oiled machine. The cast and crew have a great rapport with one another so everything moves very smoothly on set. I loved working with Jensen and Jared. They’re great guys and were very welcoming to me as a guest star. They also introduced me to a traditional Salvadoran food called “pupusas” which are from a food truck that occasionally visits set… If you’ve never tried them before you really should. I’m addicted.
Q. The only information leaked out so far is that you play a brave drifter who doesn’t know who he is. Can you share any juicy tidbits about your character and the episode?
Haha. If I told you it would ruin the surprise. What I can tell you is that I was looking pretty scruffy while playing the role. One day on my way to work I stopped to get a coffee. When I held a door open for a lady to walk into the cafe she tried to give me some spare change. After that I figured it was time for a haircut.
Q. I understand the episode you guest star in is called ‘Remember the Titans’ which instantly reminds me of football. In college did you think about a career in football or was acting your true passion?
Loved that movie! To be honest, back in my college days I think my true passion was probably a home cooked meal and dollar drink night at the student pub. That being said, I loved my years playing football. When I was really young I don’t think there was anything in the world I wanted to do more than be a professional athlete. But as I got older I really started to get involved with theatre. Over time it felt more natural to consider a career as an actor. I think it was the right choice for me
