Supernatural - 8.15 - Man's Best Friend with Benefits - Podcast
Feb 26, 2013
Podcast SupernaturalHey there all you wayward sons and daughters welcome to the latest episode of the Team Winchester Podcast. Lilith and Dahne will be breaking down episode 8.15: Man's Best Friend With Benefits. The girls had to laugh to keep from crying with outrage at how terrible this episode was. There was not a lot to love but tons to nitpick so come on in and join the discussion.
Reminder: After February 27th there will be no new episodes of Supernatural until March 20th so brace yourselves for the spring purgatorus. There will however be at least two new episodes of TWP, one them being the Castiel tribute, it's not too late to submit voicemail and audio submissions about why you love Castiel, get them in by March 8th and I will edited them in.
And of course my favorite special editions: Listener Feedback. Be sure to keep sending in your comments, suggestions, concerns and of course burning questions toteamwinchesterpod@gmail.com, you can direct message or tweet us @winchesterpod or leave something on the facebook page, facebook.com/teamwinchesterpodcast.

More to nitpick, less to love. The good news is that Wednesday's episode should look very good by comparison.
ReplyDeleteyou know listening back we were actually really nice about this episode, much kinder than it deserved honestly
ReplyDeleteYour podcasts are great to listen to and yes, you were both quite diplomatic about this episode. :)

You're right about the illogical method of James' killings; if it was an astral projection type of thing, then there would have been no actual blood on his clothes and if his 'familiar' was with him at all times how could his physical self get out at night to kill. Buh!
X
However I couldn't care less about the dog/witch combo; it's the little things about the brothers that annoy me more than anything, like Dean's allergy to cats. Since when?
Then the thing about Mary. I don't remember Dean ever saying he had seen his mother burning on the ceiling and I'm sure that would have come up in the brothers' conversations at one point or another.
X
Then if Bobby had a witch killing spell, why the heck didn't they use it against all the past witches they came across. You would imagine that Bobby himself would have been motivated to use it with the Patrick affair and of course the boys with the witch couple in season seven.
X
To think that John and Dean spent time being worried about poor Sam's miserable little psychic powers and demon blood when there are witches out there who are as powerful as demons and angels mixed together!
You would think that the brothers would at least have gone back and torched the Witch Club if nothing else!
Oh, I'm too down-hearted to go on!

Anyway you guys perfectly covered any and all anomalies in the podcast.
Keep up the good work. :)
oh, you don't even know how much editing I had to to get it down to 65 minutes, we covered a little bit more but I did try to cover all the bases, thanks for listening and commenting every week, it's greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI would really love if you can make it a little more shorter.
ReplyDeleteThanks for listening. I still think Dean's allergy came about because Jensen really was sick during the filming of this episode. If not it makes no sense because I don't remember Dean allergies in You Can't Handle the Truth. I think canon-wise it definitely leans toward Dean NOT having seen Mary burn, but as far as the witch spell goes, that was the spell they were going to use in Shut Up Dr. Phil. This time I'm pretty sure they remembered to chill the chicken feet so it would work though.
ReplyDeleteVery much so. I guess 60 minutes of continuously repeating "it sucked out loud" would not be very entertaining though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your feedback. I too have a hard time listening when podcasts go for long. That's why we always include a breakdown of the podcast so you can fast forward to the parts you are most interested in. Generally the meat of the podcast goes from the nitpicks through the favorites/least favorites, which usually runs around 30 minutes these days.
ReplyDeleteentertaining, perhaps not, more cathartic definitely, still annoyed that I wasted 120 minutes of my life on this episode
ReplyDeleteYou and me both although it was significantly longer than 120 minutes for me.
