Week 12! Very emotional week for my shows this time, so the scenes I’ve chosen are also emotional, even heartbreaking ones. A lot of performances worth mentioning and some characters saying goodbye. This is my Top 3 (and honorable mentions)! As always the order is accidental.
1. Show: REVENGE Episode: Sacrifice
Date: February 17, 2013
Actors: Emily VanCamp, Margarita Levieva
The Scene: Amanda Porter’s death
Second week in the row Emily’s performance is one of my favorites. In, what’s probably, the most heartbreaking scene of the series, her character, also Emily, says goodbye to Amanda Porter , one of the very few people aware of her real identity. I have to admit, I was pretty sad it was Amanda, who died on the boat, but it’s hard to imagine a better way for her to leave the show. Everything she ever wanted was family and in the end she got it. A husband, a son, a sister… Amanda Porter died trying to save her family. What a long way she’s come. From a girl introduced as a stripper and murderer (!), she got to be a savior, someone willing to sacrifice her own life. But my favorite part of the scene is the sudden change in her relationship with Emily. And the moment Emily realized that after everything they’ve been through they really were like sisters and she cared about Amanda much more than she’s ever known. “I love you too” part broke my heart but was just the most beautiful moment of the episode, something I did not see coming but was very happy to watch.
R.I.P “Amanda Clarke” / the real Emily Thorne / Amanda Porter
NOTE: This scene was also picked by Jamie Coudeville as Scene of the Week!
2. Show: ONCE UPON A TIME Episode: Manhattan
Date: February 17, 2013
Actors: Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Jared S. Gilmore, Michael Raymond-James
The Scene: Family Reunion (Emma, Neal, Gold and Henry meet)
We all pretty much knew Neal’s real identity for a long time, but it certainly didn’t make the revelation and family reunion less entertaining to watch! And the part where Bae unexpectedly comes back to his apartment to make sure Emma’s okay and ends up learning he has a son and confronting his long lost father was just brilliant! Everyone acted so well in the entire episode (especially Jennifer Morrison and Robert Carlyle!) and this very chaotic, involving a lot of screaming meeting was such an amazing thing to see. “Manhattan” as a whole is also one of the best episodes of the show to date. I really can’t wait what’s gonna happen next. Especially after the twist at the end!
NOTE: This scene was also picked by klutzy girl as Scene of the Week!
3. Show: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES Episode: Stand By Me
Date: February 21, 2013
Actors: Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Candice Accola
The Scene: Elena turning off her humanity
I have to admit I had a problem watching the current season of the show. It’s the plot. It wasn’t interesting or well executed, or pretty much engaging for me. But recently things seem to be going back to normal and it’s a very good thing cause I was starting to miss watching the series on the weekly bases. This last episode was a very painful thing to see and I wasn’t really expecting adding a scene from it to the article but then… Nina Dobrev happened. She was just so perfect in this scene, that even though it’s heartbreaking to watch, you really can’t take your eyes off her excellent work there. First Elena feels EVERYTHING and then absolutely NOTHING. Incredibly hard thing to do for an actor, especially in the matter of seconds and it worked so great in the scene! Everyone involved in making it was very good, but Nina killed it. Definitely. I am so gonna miss Jeremy (he was one of my favorites!) but kudos for creators for this send off.
NOTE: This scene was also picked by Jamie Coudeville as Scene of the Week!

Tony and Ziva baby-sitting Kayla and Jared Vance was brilliant. Tony with a pizza box as a shark head? Hilarious.

Shaw taking out the group of drug runners and having a cold beer when there is still a warm body besides her. She really is a stone cold killer.
The final scene at the ambulance. From the moment Bear ''kisses'' her awake to Leon fleeing because he is scared of her. A lot of fun in a short time and she finally took Finch's card!
The Walking Dead, “Home”, February 17, 2013
The Scenes:
Daryl and Merle blowing up in the woods. Merle didn't actually do anything but try to rob the family, but the scenes really showed how much Daryl has grown as a character ever since Merle wasn't in his life anymore.
The bus ramming through the prison fences and releasing walkers into the yard. That was just a brilliant strategy by the Governor.
Merle and Daryl saving Rick. I was fully expecting Hershel to go down and Glenn/Michonne saving Rick. But then the Dixon brothers show up. Awesome!
Castle, “Target”, February 18, 2013
Actors: Nathan Fillion

Person Of Interest, “Relevance”, February 21, 2013
Actors: Sarah Shahi, Michael Emerson, Jim Caviezel, Ken Leung, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach
The Scenes:
Michael and Shaw work together to invade an apartment. Shaw kills moving antagonist by shooting directly through the wall with limited camera angles! -Super intense scene, well choreographed.
Final sequences: Carter, Fusco, and Leon help stage Shaw's death, leading to grave yard final scene with Reese and Finch again making an offer. It was a great twist, reminiscent of Alias, but also came with a little comedic silver lining after such a dark and action heavy episode.

ReplyDeleteI agree with POI scenes and TBBT fun with flags (always hilarious)
ReplyDeleteYou're going to be killed by crazy fans of Beauty and the Flop. XD
ReplyDeleteEvery single scene in 'Leslie and Ben'
ReplyDeleteSo many this week!
ReplyDelete1. The Walking Dead - The ending. Duh. That was one of the best action scenes I've seen on TV. It was absolutely breathtaking... My heart was already pounding during the Carol/Axel talking scene because I just knew something HAD to happen. After that, I was holding my breath the entire time. I thought literally ALL of the characters could have been shot or killed right there. Even Rick. That's how unpredictable this show has become. The orange truck was very random but very cool and surprising. I wonder if the driver is significant.
2. Person Of interest - Hard to pick from this amazing episode. Shaw was a very well introduced character, and all of her scenes were quite badass. I'm gonna go with Cole's death scene. A rare moment in which Reese was too late to save his POI. We got the beautiful "No, just yours" last words, Shaw putting a light bomb inside someone's mask while he was wearing it (!), Shaw shooting Reese, Shaw using the other guy as a pillow to land on while she jumped out of a window, the CLASSIC image of a few guys on the street holding their knees in pain because Reese had just passed them, ending with a shootout between Shaw and Wilson.
3. Person Of Interest -The team, including Leon, saving Shaw. It was fun seeing them all work together for once, with that awesome music playing. That scene could have done without some of the corny jokes, but that's just a minor nitpick. Honorable mention goes to the scene where Shaw meets Finch. This episode really reminded me how awesome Michael Emerson truly is (as if I actually needed reminding).
4. Once Upon A Time - The family reunion. The twist was very predictable, but that scene where Henry met his father was as emotional as I have felt during this show. He was so heartbroken when he learned that Emma had lied to him. Honorable mention goes to Rumple stealing the Seer's powers. That was a nice twist that explains so much, and it actually kind of made sense. And now we know that Henry is much more important than we thought before.
The Americans was still good, but there was not really a scene that stood out for me. Same with The Following, which was better than it has been lately.
The entire episode of Once, especially with the family reunion/everyone yelling. And Snow and Charming's family tree scene. Also Castle was great, too. The blood in the van scene was especially powerful and Nathan killed it.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great week for TV. Good job, Feb sweeps.
Once Upon A Time - Reunion Scene and Henry and Neal scene
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest - Shaw wakes in the ambulance until the end of the episode.
Vampire Diaries - The whole scene of Elena wanting to burn down the house until she does so.
A bunch of great scenes this week, but "Person Of Interest - Final sequences: Carter, Fusco, and Leon help stage Shaw's death" won out for me.
ReplyDeleteNCIS! I loved that scene and it was the best scene of the week for me :)
ReplyDeleteThe family reunion scene on OUAT! It was quite obvious for quite awhile but it was so well done/acted.
ReplyDeleteThe good wife Will and Alicia fight and kiss scene! The best
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with TVD, I was not so excited about what has been going on this season, but the scene where Nina turned off her emotion was absolutely amazing. It reminded my why I like this show! The scene with Bae and Emma realizing that they accidentally made it known that they know each other was great. The looks on the their faces of 'oh shit' was great. Also, I really hope Henry forgive Emma, I liked how they were before. I hope that doesn't change.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't forget castle - which was absolutely amazing, I wanted to cry along with him.
Person Of Interest - Final sequences: Carter, Fusco, and Leon help stage Shaw's death - This one just sticks out for me :)
ReplyDeleteThe entire episode of Castle was phenomenal but if I had to pick one scene, I guess I would pick the scene with the blood in the van.
ReplyDeleteAlso loved Once Upon a Time as a whole. Especially that final revelation!
Tony and Ziva watching the Vance kids was great!
I could not stop smiling during that final scene of CSI: NY. I knew it was coming but as Justyna said about Neal's identity on Once, knowing didn't make me any less giddy about the proposal. Fingers crossed for a season 10 so we can see the wedding.
I also loved the final scene of CSI where Sara, Nick, and Greg were talking about the end of Sara and Gil's marriage. Nick reminding her that she's always got him and Greg ("her boys" is what ran through my head) was so sweet. I was sad that the Grissoms are getting divorced though.
Definetly. any scene from Castle! But I pick Castle at the van, fabulous acting!
ReplyDeleteI have got to catch up with the Americans. Love that show and am woefully behind. Anyway, I picked
ReplyDeleteCastle - that scene at the van. The Following - what an evil place to end the episode. Nearly ever scene listed for Person of Interest -- the drug dealer shoot out and Bear at the end...and..and...Big Bang Theory...fun with flags.
I have had major problems with the last couple of episodes fo Vampire Diaries, but Nina Dobrev pulled out all of the stops in her performance. Couldn't pick it but that scene was up there.
It was one of the best weeks this season IMO:
ReplyDelete- Revenge: The death of Amanda and Emily's reaction while promising to avenge her death
- Once Upon a Time: Emma's breakdown when speaking with Neal and the later family' reunion
- The Vampire Diaries: Elena explodes after realizing that Jeremy is not coming back and Nina Dobrev gives her best performance on the show yet
- Suits: Mike tells Rachel the truth and they have sex on the file room
- The Walking Dead: The governor attacks the prison
- The Following: Ryan finds Joey but is captured by the trio
- Nikita: Nikita and Alex save Sean
- The Good Wife: Will and Alicia fight and end up kissing
- Scandal: Fitz was the one who hired Jake
Have yet to watch Grey's Anatomy, The Americans, Person of Interest and Arrow.
I agree that Nina Dobrev killed it big time with her performance, it was incredible
ReplyDeleteLoved Castle, but the best scene for me was Mac Taylor proposing to Christine on CSI NY...waited a long time to see Mac happy!
ReplyDeleteWhere is CSI: Las Vegas? The best episode of season was this week.. and you put any scene about it...
ReplyDeleteYep,CSI was very good this (last) week, but maybe they don't watch the show and that's why it isn't listed.
ReplyDeleteTheir were so many good episodes last week that i cannot pick just one. I loved all of Person of Interest, and the Castle episode was good too,Nathan is such a good actor and he really nailed it in this episode!
ReplyDeleteLeslie and Ben's wedding. Touching how everyone worked together to make it happen, especially Ann's wedding dress, finished with pictures of Leslie's achievements. 2nd choice the dad and son scene on the fire escape in OUaT.
ReplyDeleteAmanda Porter's death...
ReplyDeleteChristine Lahti days on H50 are numbered, she will play in the new Beverly hills cop the tv series, so what is going to happen to Doris
ReplyDelete
