Wow...Ryan is becoming a little more like Percy in his schemes. I'm never going to get tired of watching Alex carry a sniper rifle. Nobody should look that insanely hot and be that dangerous at the same time. It's about time Michael saw some of the benefits of having a synthetic hand. If it had been his real hand, that knife would have removed all his fingers.
That guy really was like a Bond villain, standing there in the open just firing away like an idiot. They really should have guessed that the government would have extra missions for them to carry out. Division is going to become a tool again. And Michael has become obsessed. Maybe this will be what drives Nikita away from him.
What I liked and liked to hate: Ryan doing the Percy stomp. Nikita, once again, trying to right a wrong. Heidecker channeling Dr. Mengele. Darkness cloaks Michael. Alex the assassin saying "Ops". The slap happy Mistress. Birkhoff being Birkhoff. My new favorite word. Spy-Fi.
Alternate title for this episode could have been, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". I didn't think they'd be able to pull off Ryan slowly morphing into Percy, but they did. He may not be the power-hungry sociopath Percy was, but he's starting to get sucked into the Division way of doing things. And then Michael's storyline - it was downright chilling to see Nikita commiserating with Heidecker and him almost portrayed as good guy who can help Michael, only to discover he experiments on children. And doesn't even have a hint of any moral qualms about it. They're all trying to do the right thing, but they may have to sell their souls to get there.
Loved the ep and the tweaks in the story/characters that they did with Ryan starting to get a little dark and the government looking to use Division again (perhaps against their wishes)... you just know that another rebellion is coming....
Not my favorite episode but still very good. Loved Nikita's commitment to getting Michael a hand and the final twists with the kidnapped children and ryan being asked by the govermnent to do more kills. But too little alex for me, and no sean! But still good
Interesting....both Michael and Ryan were tap dancing on the corruption tight rope. I totally understand how Ryan wound up turning into Percy. if he hadn't then all the people he signed on to protect would definitely be killed. And Michael....you just know that he's gonna get way to close to the sun (so to speak) when it comes to dealing with the people who can give him back his hand. I'm loving the character work they're doing. Honestly I've loved this show since they put Birkhoff in the mix with Michael and Nikita.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI knew Ryan would eventually start to become like Percy. It comes with the job and power to control Division. I can't wait to see where he ends up.
ReplyDeleteAt least as a tool, they're still doing sanctioned missions and not a personal agenda/bank account like Percy and Amanda both did.
