  1. Oh how things have changed. No one listened to Kenzi, and now no one is listening to Bo. They really like giving Bo and Lauren problems don't they? Those two have had more problems in the last three episodes than Bo and Dyson had over an entire season.

"I will never forgive you for this." Great...

Lauren wasn't exactly in an easy position. I mean, just in the previous episode she saw Bo change in front of her, and the evidence against her keeps mounting. Combine that with fake Kenzi manipulating everyone and it's a big problem.

Do they really have to make Ksenia bend over several times in that way too revealing top? I don't mind, but it's very obvious. ;) Seriously, how can no one see that's not Kenzi?

If Bo wasn't so busy looking for Kenzi, I'm sure she would have enjoyed her visit to the sorority house.

An entire scene of half naked Kenzi. I've said it before and I'll say it again, they've really made Ksenia wear less clothes this season. She was always covered up before. She looked ridiculously cute wearing only Dyson's shirt.

"She is my heart." Aww that's adorable.

Tamsin and Bo are getting closer, and apparently she has a unique taste. Damnit, Bo and Lauren have been so good at talking to each other in the past, why aren't they doing so now?

Oh Tamsin, you perfect fae being, you. You are such a tsundere for Bo. My love for Tamsin grew around hundred times this episode.

A bit disappointed with the resolution of Norn's Gift storyline. It all felt so...petty? And it should not have been all about Bo - it should have been Kenzi's storyline. Oh well, at least this paved the way for a lot of Tamsin and Bo interactions

    4/5

  5. i agree thought it would be something that would give Kenzi a new storyline, at least for a little bit, and then it was suddenly , oh and never mind. bit disappointed if that is all there was to it.

When I think about it I think the Norn's Gift storyline is not finished yet.

Especially after Bo doing the whole Monologue about Kenzi being her heart and making her feel human - watch Kenzi slowly turn into a kitsune, cue drama, angst and Bo going over the edge.

  7. interesting idea and something i would like to see. not sure it can happen in the episode span of only 11 eps or did they get a full season this series?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Dyson was wearing a singlet? WTF No, No, NO! Writers what are you doing?

  9. I personally loved the episode. While I do agree that it all became about Bo, I wasn't really bothered by that. I was just happy that finally Bo went to find Kenzi and reaffirmed what Kenzi means to her. I was getting really tired of her saying oh i'm having dinner Lauren, or im going out with Lauren. I get that they are dating, but Kenzi was there for Bo first and has always looked out for her. I really enjoyed Tamsin this episode too, but, I wonder why she decided to lie to the Morrigan. Was it that she is looking for a friend like Bo? Or is it simply that she admires Bo and wants to be her friend? I look forward to finding out. As for her creepy power, I wonder if it will eventually kill her? Seems to me that it drains her to use it.

  10. I agree about the norn's storyline, I felt jipped we never got to see her use some of those fae powers when that tidbit was revealed.

    ReplyDelete
  11. See I think the storyline is because didn't the doppleganger Kenzi (cannot spell her name) say that you didn't know what you had? That would imply she had powers past tense. I think when she was licking the eau de Kenzi she got her powers back that way and when the doppleganger died her powers died with her. Otherwise your storyline idea would be a good one.

  12. I wonder if the twist at the end for underfae is similar to how Tamsin ended up with the light? I'm still guessing, but I like how they set up little parallels between earlier eps. Then once something fae happens it is not so alien. The fake Kenzi and Dyson drama was my favorite in the ep. So much drama, but not to cheesy. I actually got out my ice cream this ep.

  13. Yes, and the tension would be interesting between Kenzi and Bo.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Of course we did and she became a foxy lady ;) Why else does she have so much more cleavage showing?

    ReplyDelete
  15. i agree, and the way Dyson reacted when he believed he killed Kenzi was really great and caring.

it should be 12 or 13 episodes and I fully could see this happening amongst the last things in the season.

  17. Better than most episodes this season. Getting Bo/Kenzi/Dyson back as a team at the end with all their interplay was so much better. I miss the season 1 scooby gang. I'd rather have the three of them (plus Hale if he'd ever come back) do fae of the week than this crappy excuse for mytharc that is actually just fae of the week (prison guard, pied piper...) but less interesting and without any twists whatsoever. I mean is Bo facing these tests really the "big bad"? Seriously?

The number of plot holes and "but what? how?"s was off the charts, but most people were at least acting like themselves--if purposely stupid to make a silly plot work. Nobody notices that Kenzi is acting soooo not Kenzi, but then Tamsin picks up on it? When has Kenzi ever cried or acknowledged that she was scared? Why not say hey I saw little teeth and she brought me ice cream that I hate because Kenzi is trying to send us a message. I'm skipping the peanuts thing, because while it was established that she was allergic in Original Skin, they didn't say "severely allergic" and the girl eats anything, without thought: cereal, cookies, food at Chinese restaurants. They keep peanut butter in the house. If she were "severely" allergic to peanuts she would either be more careful or dead. The entire basis of Bo is having an argument with Kenzi that they presented that we are supposed to believe is Kenzi found out Bo was killing again and Bo wanted to cover it up by pretending that it wasn't Kenzi, except in the next sentence Bo comes right out with she's worried she's killing again. That means there was no cover-up, so what reason did Bo have to try to get rid of Kenzi? She didn't. And she wasn't trying to get fakeKenzi out of the way she was trying to find real Kenzi, and she was super worried about it, so there was no logical rationale. I can accept that Lauren and Trick simply didn't value the possibility that something was wrong with Kenzi over the reality that something was wrong with Bo. But Dyson was worried about Kenzi and it didn't make sense that he wouldn't ask, save the show has had some Dyson and Bo can't have a more than 15 seconds of screen time together rule since 2.14.

Points for Rachel Skarsten toning down the overacting and attempted bitchiness, but what's up with valkyries cause "doubt"? Obviously there is more to it--cause wake people up from comas--but that explanation was seriously lame. Still best episode of the season (which might be really depressing, but if it is a sign of an upward track Andras might be able to get out of last place behind Carver for worst showrunner ever).

  18. I agree with you that it was nice to see Bo, Kenzi & Dyson on screen at the same time. I enjoyed many parts of this episode. But, for me I miss the heart of season 1 the Bo & Kenzi girl power, I always saw the series as Bo & Kenzi being lost and finding each other and building a life that they didn't have in the human world. That the heart of the series was their enduring friendship Bo told Kenzi that "this is out life now and we have too protect it". But that seems to be lost in the "ship wars", I wish that the writers would watch season 1 and try to keep the show in that spirit while advancing the characters and skip the fanfiction. In season 2 it was established that Dyson did indeed have a pack and it was Bo & Kenzi. If I see a Dyson & Kenzi pairing I'll have to bail on the show if I want to watch bed hopping I'll watch general hospital. Plus, Kenzi KNOWS he's in love with Bo do you really thing she'll settle for being with someone who is in love with your bff. I hope not! The writing this season was so off, I understand that they had to isolate Kenzi to make the storyline work but if you have to change the entire dynamic of a show and it's characters to make a storyline work then perhaps you should think up a better storyline. Also EA's placation to the Doccubus crowd is sickening she is now doing Q&A's on the doccubus site during the airing of some episodes. I am sad to see such a great series full of interesting characters, girl power, sexual freedom and a bit of camp reduced into a "doccubus centered syfy channel campy show for people with no vision of what it could be". It could be an amazing show about to socially immature women who grow and become both self sufficient and self aware in a "foreign land" and through their exploits fight for a better life and are secure in their decisions and sexuality or bi-sexuality. Bo this season and Bo from season 1 are the same I'd like to see some growing up.

  19. I totally agree--with the Kenzi/Bo dynamic, with the need to return to season 1 roots, to the hatred of the very idea of making Dyson/Kenzi anything but the fabulous little sis/big bro relationship that they currently have, and most of all I agree that the blatant and exclusionary pandering to doccubus is an enormous mistake. When a showrunner has to take all her story ideas from crap films and fan fic, there is a big big problem.

I love the Happy Sunshine Gang from season 1, I miss sidekick solidarity and buddy cop time. I miss Bo investigating things and helping people. I miss Bo and Kenzi time. I think we got more this week than we have in a long long time, but I am bracing myself for the reality that a showrunner who would exclusively talk to a single fan contingent and rewrite the show to fit their viewpoint is incapable of standing on her own and making the show what it started out to be.

    ReplyDelete
  20. NO! I want better for Kenzi then being with a guy who is in love with her best friend.

    ReplyDelete
  21. As a big sci-fi and fantasy series fan it's upsetting to see something that was truly original become something so cliche. I too miss the sunshine gang and wish the writers took a page from the Shonda Rhimes book of writing and wrote the finale and lessons that she wants each character to learn first then script to rest of the season up to that apex, keeping in mind the traits for each character. Shonda talks about once she writes it she sometimes cries because in order to keep true to the world she creates she has to kill people and end relationships. That she wants some couples to make it but she has to stay true to the world she crafts. For me that's what worked for season 1, Vexed was the first episode written and after the season was green lighted they wrote around that script crafting the story around that arc of Dyson admitting he has feelings for Bo and Bo starting a relationship with Lauren. Season 2 was a hot mess ans season 3 is slowly on an incline but kowtowing to a fan base, any fan base being the Doccubus or Dybo's is ruining the show.

  22. I firmly believe that showrunners have to have their own vision--and they need to stay out of fan wars. Bosses can't be sitting down to happy hour with their employees and showrunners can't be reading forums and letting that influence their shows. Someone like Andras has been there since the beginning, so it is perplexing to me that she would have such difficulty maintaining consistent characterization and mythology. It reads to me like a conscious decision to rework the show and not an authentic artistic vision. Andras has made some really questionable comments regarding fan factions and her decision to engage with any one group and only that group is very problematic. A live stream Q&A on Twitter is one thing since the entire season is already wrapped, but on a highly exclusionary site like doccubus.com it is an entirely different thing.

I agree season 1 was tight, it had themes for goodness sake that carried throughout with symbolism and language parallels. And now we're to the point where I'm just hoping Bo can act like herself for five minutes and actually start talking to the rest of the cast.

    ReplyDelete
  23. and the dawining storyline is crazy if you go back to 1.02 Bo was darkBo and had to be talked down by Kenzi in the trailer park so this is so out of left field. You can explore a dark Bo without making up a test that Lauren, head of the light fae medical staff knows nothing about. How about just have Bo get lots of dark fae clients during a season and she starts to become reckless like them. But hey that would make sense. Now I see interviews with EA saying that Lauren has a special effect on Bo's heart and can keep darkBo at bay COME ON!

  24. Yeah, I'm sorry. Kenzi is Bo's humanity. Always has been. Episode 1, Bo chose humans and Kenzi was the one that brought her back. I find the "this is how underfae were created" aspect of the dawning to be potentially problematic (hey it might all work out). Several of the underfae that we have met have been highly intelligent and extraordinarily crafty, so the "test" can't be intelligence based or morality based or how much a fae accepts their human side, and based on the previews they have no clear idea of what the "dawning" is even testing. It seems like it going to be a big can of worms and it certainly doesn't fit with the species definitions we've been previously given.

  25. Hey we both may be eating our words in the end and may love the season but it's not looking good if they are pandering to one team. I don't dislike Bo & Lauren I actually enjoy the grown up nature of the relationship and wish Dyson's character could learn to express his feelings better, but, the fact that I can state episodes that dealt with aspects of Lauren & Bo's relationship in season 1 & 2 that the writers are rewriting this season is really frustrating. As is the rewriting of personalities of the core characters.

    ReplyDelete
  26. i dunno, is he still love with her? it seems like they are moving away from that idea in the show.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes, he is still in love with Bo. It's actually a cornerstone of the show, he's a wolf shifter and they mate for life. The Norn was able to take all his love because he loves her completely. That's why he couldn't feel anything for Ciara because he loves her with all he has. He is stepping back because he see's her happy with Lauren. Kenzi is the only person who knows he has his love back so why would she settle for a guy who is in love with someone else. Kenzi would NEVER settle for something like that and Dyson would never ask her to. Plus the strain on the Bo/Kenzi relationship would be enormous. Also, Bo is always sleeping with Dyson and that's an issue for anyone he's dating. So while you may like the idea you have to keep in mind the facts about the characters, Dyson mates for life and Bo's nature is not monogamy, Lauren will never be enough for Bo plus she will age and Bo will not and Kenzi is smart and would never settle for sloppy seconds but has ALWAYS been on team Dyson. Dyson is a pack animal and his pack is Bo, Kenzi and Hale.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I agree, I am liking Tamsin she needs new friends.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Could be a good storyline but sad to say the Norn issue is done except for Bo to find out that Dyson has his love back.

    ReplyDelete
  30. um, yeah didn't really need a synopsis of the show i have been watching and while you make points not sure they hold up. if he "mates for life" then every one he kisses and beds would be primed for that role. and there is no indication or 100% confirmation that he has done so with Bo. One passing conversation about it in season 1 does not count. Also, i love how you say "always" and "facts" like you write for the show, its cute. its just a TV show and if anything its subject to change and whims of the people who write it. honestly i don't care either way just thought it would be interesting instead of the same old boring recycled cliched triangle we see on every fecking show.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have enjoyed your comments and it has got me thinking. I have noticed the abrubt writings - espacially in the plots - but I was able to ignore these because I was so happy to see more of my fav. wolf.

    ReplyDelete
  32. But, at least for a moment, they may paint themselves out of the Dyson's love corner thanks to Tamsin. Remember, Trick said her powers will be affecting Dyson for months, making him misjudge his own thoughts and feelings. I'm not saying it'll happen, or that it should happen, or if he makes a dumbass out of himself Kenzi will let it slide since it's Kenzi. I'm just saying, they've opened a whole interesting door to play with (on multiple levels) if they give it half a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  33. In rewatching the last few episodes I think that they have to figure out a way to make him more interesting, he's getting boring so I could see the writers doing something like that and putting him with Kenzi or Tamsin.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Agreed (though I'm hoping they don't do Kenzi because I love their friendship way, way too much to ruin it). But it's an easy way to explore him "love" someone else...and, if/when the chips fall back in his favor, flip him back to loving Bo.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I thought that was the double, the real Kenzi never exhibited any of those powers.
