  1. Is it in Peter Weller's contract that he must be part machine in his roles?

  2. I loved it! Danny called Steve "babe" again and he's totally worried about losing Steve and he loves him so much it's all very lkajsdl;kfjasdlkjfadf.

And the end was so adorable. Love that Steve saw his dad and other cops.

    Great episode!

  5. So I'm more than a little OCD. I had to watch original ep on Hulu first (Would have watched on Netflix on my TV via the playstation, but, I'm assuming there was a heavy load.) and for the first time....I found myself commenting on the impracticality of a man's costume. These guys were in suits and dress
shoes. On two occasions the buy playing Ben had to run....both times his slippery shoes almost cost him his footing. Kate Beckett isn't the only cop wearing impractical footwear.

I kept trying to figure out how difficult it was for Peter Weller to work with the prosthetics or if they used a puppet setup.

I thought it was an awesome update of the original. For me it underlined what makes this version of the show work so well as an update of the original series all together. Am I right that this is the only English episode title for this series? Great to see William Sadler again - though the little spirit moment at the end was a wee bit over the top for me. I know we got one in the Halloween episode when Danny was apartment hunting but it just felt out of place for this series.

Other than that I'm rating this as awesome.

  7. It's was great camara work because it' wasn't Peter Weller who worked with the bionic hands but Jason Koger. Koger is the double amputee and answered a casting call last fall and impressed the “Five-0” production team with the things he can do with his prosthetic hands. read here! http://www.honolulupulse.com/movies-tv/outtakes-online-amputee-is-the-real-star

  8. Summer Glau is guest starring next Monday in ep 3.16 Kekoa and won't play a machine.
OK, she's involved in underground fighting ring and gets to fight tough ;-)

  10. One thing I love about Hawaii Five O is tptb take chances each season and give the viewers some pretty cool episodes! They even went so far as to recreate actual scene locations from the 1973 episode "Hookman".

The young man whose bionic arms were used for stand ins for Weller also got his own quick cameo as he walks out of the post office!

I love Weller and using him as the "hookman" was an excellent choice imo. Yes, he will always be linked forever to "RoboCop" but who cares?!! Watching him play this role made the episode not only great but awesome.

I also didn't care for Danny's rant in the gun shop and I do think it was a little over the top but I did like how we learn that many things are not tracked when guns are involved. To me that was a better message as to how things could change if there was a better system in place.

I also was a little confused at the ending when McGarrett "sees" the dead policemen and then his father. I suppose it was just a way to pay tribute to the men and let them have some final air time at the end of the episode.

  12. Great episode surprising to find that they explained more of the story about Curt more than they did in the Original by showing what happened at the bank because I found it a bit difficult on how it was explained in the original. Loved the ending.

Yes no props were used the close up shots of the hands were played by real life amputee Jason Koger :) wonderful guy talked to him a couple of times on Twitter

No matter what people say about what Danno said about gun controls in America I have been through the devastation with Port Arthur and how much us Tasweigans suffered through that that year was terrible something really needs to be done I hope Obama will put a stop to it very soon

One of the best episodes and Alex wow! could this guy get any better with his acting I think Hookman was one of his best roles yet

  13. I'm sorry I don't know what Kate Beckett has to do with Five-0 with clothing I'm finding the wardrobe much better on Five-0 on any other show in the U.S.

Yes this is the first English title for the Rebooted series of Five-0 the original was all English and the original was actually called Hookman also

  14. I though Duke being shot was a little rushed if I didn't read it on Twitter beforehand he was a victim I would've been wondering where did that happen when I read the comments on the internet

  15. I thought Peter W was a great choice for the role and yes it reminded me of his work with Robocop amazing how he played it

  16. Judging from teh promo I think she'll do some stunts in the episode. I think she has forgotten the deal that she said that I saw in person at Supanova in 2006 in Brisbane that she'll never do stunts again

  17. My comment was aimed at the fact that, these days, most shows put in impractical shoes (4-5 inch heels) There are many examples from many shows. Kate Beckett came to mind as an example because she plays a detective.

  18. The bit they explained more in the new version than in the original was how McKinny, the guy in the shootout, wound up with the exact gun used in the murders. That was the part that had me wondering when I watched the original.

  19. The anti-gun propaganda scene in the gun shop was a little offputting, but it was an otherwise decent episode.
