This one is hard for me because I am basically meh about this episode. I'm vacillating between Aaron smoking the manual because it was the funniest part, the brothers killing Eckhart because they were in tandem again, the brothers seeing the Bat Cave because I like that they have someplace to relax now, and the brothers meeting the golem because the acting was phenomenal. This might end up an eeny-meeny-miney-moe solution.
Thought you would have liked the episode more. Everything else wrapped up in one sentence, no brotherly angst, Sam doing what Sam does best and Dean not as snarky for second consecutive episode.
I am a huge fan of snark. I think this episode needed more. It also needed a lot more action. It was fairly exposition heavy. I did really like Aaron and I hope he comes back either with or without his golem. The brothers being brothers is definitely the best part of the episode though.
The end scene with the brothers chilling out. Sam finding a home in the books and Dean being perfectly okay with that. One of the best end scenes to an ep of SPN in a very long time.
I've been missing the snark level of seasons 1 and 2 all this year. Even Crowley, who could always be counted on for excellent snark, has been toned down in that department.
Picked the Bro's seeing the new bat cave for the first time. But more than that....that final moment when Dean makes the comment about Sam being the Man of Letters etc....and saying "Good."
Dean was so awkward in that scene that it should put to rest the possibility of him being bisexual to rest once and for all. Dean is never so ill at ease when flirting with a woman, so it's obvious he has no experience flirting with men.
I thought it was funny tool. And it proves that Dean is not bisexual cause he was so tongue-tied and out of his element. I doubt it will change the opinions of the destiel fans though.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteDean in the DeadGuy Robe. Or getting launched across the parking lot by Gunther the Golem.

ReplyDeleteWonder what Gunther's shoe size is?
Aaron's fake fliration with Dean in the campus pub.
ReplyDeleteThis ----> Dean, Sam, Aaron, the golem, and the Nazi in the library
ReplyDeleteThat was a pretty awesome scene. It was the best action of the night.
ReplyDeleteDean in the robe playing with the sword.

ReplyDeleteI thought the snark was there, just a lower-quality snark than we're used to seeing.
ReplyDeleteAt least the talk about Dean and his sexuality is limited to another poll.
Now, if I could just fix that flux capacitor.......

ReplyDeleteMy favorite too, along with the Men of Letters hideout scenes.
ReplyDeleteIt surprised me that "Dean's gay thing" wasn't on the options, it was hilarious!

ReplyDeleteIt was nice to end without tension and to just be comfortable with the brothers.
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot about that and it was a hilarious scene!
ReplyDeleteuhm, the scene where Dean figures out Aaron was flirting with him? Where is it? It was the best scene of the episode!
ReplyDeletePicked the Bro's seeing the new bat cave for the first time. But more than that....that final moment when Dean makes the comment about Sam being the Man of Letters etc....and saying "Good."
ReplyDeleteLiked all of these plus Dean playing with the sword, lol.
ReplyDeleteI was especially torn between the brothers finding the place and chilling out but at the end, I voted for the End scene. It was awesome IMO.
I loved that scene too. I beginning to think Dean has a thing for swords...
ReplyDeleteMy favourite scene was Aaron fake-flirting with Dean, and how Dean reacted. :)

ReplyDeletePlus he had gotten on Cas a couple of times about PERSONAL SPACE.
ReplyDeletejust seeing Sam look UP at someone was so damn fun!
ReplyDeletehilariious. "are we having a moment" Never mind Sam, that was my gay thing
ReplyDeleteI have to agree about the boys. It was so emotionally wonderful to see them like that
ReplyDeletedude i loved that scene so hard. "let's not go all geek lil brother" then immediately geeks out with the sword ;)
