Star Wars fans, admit it: you like scoundrels. And you’re about to get more of them in your life.
Yesterday, The Walt Disney Co. unveiled plans to make a number of spin-off movies set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away — in addition to the post-Return of the Jedi trilogy that had already been announced
Entertainment Weekly has learned details on two of the spin-off projects: A young Han Solo saga, focusing on the wisecracking smuggler’s origin story, and a bounty hunter adventure with Boba Fett at the center of a rogue’s gallery of galactic scum.

Boba Fett was one of the most overrated Star Wars characters ever, he got beaten by a blind Han Solo.
ReplyDeletecant wait!
ReplyDeleteYeah, not feeling that one but the Han Solo series might be good.
ReplyDeleteSo that makes, 3 confirmed spin-offs (Yoda, Han Solo, Boba Fett), plus the new trilogy (Episode VII - IX) ?
ReplyDeleteFor a spinoff, i'd love to see a trilogy of movies focusing on the origins of the Galactic Republic, how it came to be such a vaste alliance of planets. At a time when there were literally hundreds of Sith and Jedi (the Episode prequels basically said the Sith were largely extinct).
Fail. Han Solo can only be played by one person and that's Harrison Ford. I d rather see Ford as an aging Admiral or senator Solo than a teenage or 20something Han Solo played by Chase Crawford or some shit like that.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't they do both? Have Harrison "cameo" as an aging Admiral or Senator, -and- show a "flashback story" with a younger version of how he became a Smuggler. And if all else fails, they could always "de-age" Harrison like the did in TRON Legacy, with Jeff Bridges character.
ReplyDeleteThe 2009 Star Trek movie sorta proved, that you can recast an iconic character with new actors, and still succeed. In that example, I thought Chris Pine did an exemplary job portraying Captain Kirk (filling in for William Shatner).
If done right, these could be great.
ReplyDeleteMy reaction to this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVt3ub2FWMY
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people love him but Boba Fett has never been a fave of mine so that one I really don't care all that much about.
ReplyDeleteA Han Solo movie on the other hand? Bring It!!!!!
Ditto on Yoda (which IMO should have been at the top of that list). How that little dude became the brilliant master Jedi we met is something that I would love to see...
Mine too..
ReplyDeleteI guess disney really wants to get their moneys worth with this franchise..
