Game of Thrones - Season - Casting Updates

Feb 9, 2013

In the last few days a number of the actors cast in smaller roles have leaked so I thought it was time for an update! Enjoy.

Dean-Charles Chapman will be playing a young Lannister prisoner. Bookreaders will likely remember the the two prisoners held by Robb Stark. Their names were Tion Frey and Willem Lannister. No word as to which Chapmen will play or if they will keep the names from the book.

According to the CV of Oddie Braddell, the actor will be playing the role of Wendel Manderly. Alex Graves is cited as the director, indicating that Braddell will possibly begin in the role during episode four or five. In the novels, Wendel is a large and honorable knight who fights at the side of Robb Stark and travels with him in the North in A Storm of Swords

Also a few smaller casting footnotes....
- Kelly Long will play Lady Frey.
- Two contortionists have been cast as well, Pixie Le Knot and Sophie O'Brien.

  1. I was wondering how a certain event would go down without the Greatjon back for Season 3. I guess Wendel Manderly will be featured.

  2. Unless I'm forgetting something the only event I can think of where Greatjon will be important for season 3 involved his son. In the books the son is the one inside who does everything while the father is drinking outside. If they plan on using Wendel Manderly for this role personally i think it is a better decision especially given what happens with the manderly's in the end of book 5

  3. II can always visualize the Greatjon only being subdued by 8 men more clearly for some reason, but yep, Smalljon is the one inside. Maybe it's the gruesomeness of Jon Umber's part that I try to forget.... or at least not visualize.

    About the Manderlys I agree...

I have been thinking of who they will cast for Wyman Manderly more so I guess... In a couple years those scenes could make for some dark TV drama!
