Looks good since all Halloween episodes on this show have been good, top tier episodes. And what is up with the Dean's outfit? I'm giving the new writers some leeway on missing a bit on some characters, but are they going too far with him?
What new writers? Megan Ganz is writing the Halloween episode - she's been a writer with the show at least since season 2. I think most or all of the writing staff stayed on. In fact, of the episodes they've listed writing credits for in season 4, Jim Rash (Dean) is the only "new" writer - and I can't wait to see what he does for that episode. As for the dean's outfit, this has to be one of the milder things he's ever worn - maybe you're missing out a bit on some characters.
Oh nice, I was not aware that Megan Ganz was the one who wrote the Halloween episode. I know a fair number of the writers and producers, we'll just say crew, are the same as before, but these are the people who left: Executive producers - Neil Godlman and Garrett Donovan Writer/Producer - Christ McKenna Actor/Writer - Dino Stamatopoulos (Starburns) Episode directors - Anthony and Joe Russo So a fair number of the crew left, but I do know that there are a number who stayed which kept (and continues to keep) me confident in Season 4. And thank you for the little tidbit about Jim Rash being a new writer, that should be a good episode. I don't know, maybe it's the fact that he looks like a gross transvestite that makes me feel that this costume is a bit more ridiculous than some of his other ridiculous ones.
Ha! he does look a bit like a gross transvestite, but I love gross transvestite dean! I think Jeff is Halloween-ing as a boxer, and the dean is trying to be his ring girl.
I think the switches will mean a different tone, almost like a story being read in a new voice, but I think the writers (and even the new showrunners) know the characters pretty well - and that's always been what I love most about the show, so the story should stay the same.
I smiled when I read what you wrote cause I knew you had to be right! The Dean will likely want to be Jeff's ring girl since Annie thought it meant the girl from The Ring.
And you're right, just because there's new crew means there will be a new tone but the writers (and more importantly the cast) know the characters well by this point. I read something, think it was from Joel McHale where he said they have more say now in what their characters say since they've been playing them for 3 years now and know them well enough and know what they wouldn't say.
Sorry if it sounded like earlier if I was ragging on the show for being too different. I'm protective of it but I've been one of the people who has been keeping spirits high for the show since the cast and some of the crew was still there. They're still the same characters.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This kind of episode will demostrate if COMMUNITY is ready for some post-college action, if the show can continue after they finished on Greendale...

The Community I knew is gone. I consider this the timeline of when Pierce went to get the pizza
