    While there are a few media outlets that are predicting BatB's discontinuation there are just as many, if not more, predicting good things. I honestly believe that it will be renewed. BatB doesn't have the big SFX budget or the sprawling cast to pay for and it has a larger and more active online presence with fans, which The CW values and that its predecessor (Secret Circle) lacked. So, even though the ratings may be similar to the ill-fated show that previously filled its time slot, Beauty and the Beast has a lot more things going in its favor. I'll be surprised if this show doesn't get a season 2.

    I also heard that after March 12 we should know if they are going to renew the show. But I have a strong feeling that they are coming back for a second season.
