Syfy ratings - Continuum doesn't beat Lost Girl in the US
Jan 15, 2013
Being Human (US) Continuum Lost Girl
Being Human and Lost Girl both scored 0.5 18-49 demos for their season premieres on SyFy, Continuum is apparently nowhere near the mega hit it was is in Canada, not make the list of top 100 cable shows by adults 18-49.
It is probably to scifi for syfy. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnyone in the world that wanted to see Continuum already has. The (attempted) regionalization of content is a pre-Internet process.
ReplyDeleteLost Girl had decent/good premiere numbers even as far behind Canada as it was. And even now the US is behind both Canada and Aus for new episodes.
ReplyDeleteIt premiered with great ratings in Canada and after that dropped a bit. But it is still (very) good ratingswise!
ReplyDeleteHum, that is interesting. Continuum had a LOT of buzz going into it's Canadian premiere, but the ratings dropped off pretty fast. I wonder if it is more lack of promotion or more all buzz no substance to the show. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Frankly I'm worried for both LG and Continuum in the US.
ReplyDeleteI don't follow your point. Sorry. I was addressing the fact that just because people may have downloaded Continuum by now, it should still get the viewership figures if people wanted to watch it, as we didn't see a similar lack of uptake with LG.
ReplyDeletenothing to worry about for Lost Girl in the US it is rare for a show to hold 100% of its lead in and when it does better than some real syfy original series its definately a keeper for them
ReplyDeleteThought you meant Canadian ratings dropping fast, sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm more worried about people sticking with it than premiere numbers.
ReplyDeleteFor Continuum? Unless I remember incorrectly it lost like 70% of it's viewership over the first 5 episodes in Canada. But I could go back and relook at the posts, did it pick back up? I stopped paying attention after I stopped watching.
ReplyDeleteIt did, the last known numbers had it back at approximately 500k viewers. Though I believe the numbers of the last three or four episodes never were released. Or at least I couldn't find them just now. But as the quality of the show got better more people tuned back in and it was renewed! Thank god! :)
ReplyDeletei'm more worried about Being Human's Numbers with numbers like this it doesn't look good for season 4
ReplyDeleteLOL So true!
ReplyDelete.5 is acceptable for a show that Syfy doesn't produce. They're only paying for the broadcast rights.
ReplyDeleteOh snap!
ReplyDeleteYay Lost Girl! Trended on twitter now this. Thought the premiere was the best ep in ages. Great news!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but citing the irrelevant 18-49 ratings doesn't mean anything.
ReplyDeleteNetworks are paid on overall viewers, in spite of what NBC's PR Department has been claiming for years.
When you hold 100% of nothing, it's not much to write about. Everything on Siffy is a flop.
