I found this episode very amusing. When Daphne attempted to take classes for hearing people, she had difficulty keeping up and they even had to slow things down to make it easier for her. Now things are switched and the same thing is happening to Bay. It shows how descrimination happens on both sides.
I wanted to smack Toby over the head. I can definitely understand where he's coming from, his previous girlfriend had cheated on him afterall, but any guy should feel lucky to have a girlfriend like that. At least he came to his senses.
As for that girl giving Bay a hard time, I can also understand her. She has one place in her life where everything is built for deaf people like her. The rest of the world is making great strides to accomodate the deaf, but it's still so far away from being ideal. The girl feels like her school is going to have to change to accomodate Bay.
Again, it's just descrimination but in the other direction.
I was slightly annoyed by John, cause for the 100th time he meddled in things he should have left alone. He should know by now that Daphne wants different things then him.
Bay taking classes there was amusing, though I disagree with your discrimination part. People are different, fact of life. The fact that ppl have to adapt to other people is also normal and that doesn't make it discrimination! What I do agree with is that it is a difficult situation where I think Bay should either go to special classes to improve her signing or go to another school. The girl is right, in Bays case: she is slowing down the rest of the class and I don't they the other guys background, but I'm guessing the same applies to him.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
