Not the greatest episode of all time (and not because of lack of "Caskett" moments, because I don't think the series hinges on them), but I enjoyed it. I loved getting a deeper look into Esposito. Jon Huertas was fabulous as always.
Hey! Not everything on Castle revolves around Caskett, contrary to what most fans believes. They are a big part, of the show and I LOVE them, don't get me wrong, but we also need to let the other actors/characters shine once in a while. This time they let Jon/Espo shine, show Jon's talent and give Espo a little character development - for ONE episode and I loved it. You should be able to accept that. And what do you mean, no Caskett? We got a little as they arrived at the murder scene. Not a peck, but talks about a movie night and that should be enough. I'm just saying, is all...
I got hooked to Castle since day one, and not because of the romance (if so, I would have given up a long ago), but due to the cases and the chemistry between the whole cast, so I´m not complaining, as the weekly case and the story itself was good... and we got to know Espo more deeper.
I liked the episode, as in great, and hope that we get more of the others too:)
One of my fav episode!!! Jon was SO amazing and Espo is a wonderful character. I hate people saying they didn't like it because there wasn't any Caskett but they were still on the case and that's how I love them, not really as a couple...This episode was brilliant, thank you Andrew Marlowe!
I love CASTLE, but last night in my opinion was not the best episode and this have 2 be the lowest rated episode of the Season, not because the character was not wonderful play by John and the rest, but the whole episode was too tedious. Is just my opinion, I'll wait patiently for next Monday 2 enjoy another sensational episode, boring or extremely great, Castle...!!!! ... I will continue to support this wonderful show.
I felt this was an episode that will be one of the seasons low points. I was bored after ten minutes and didn't enjoy the focus on Esposito, he isn't a show lead for a reason. was a Poor one for me. I guess they can't all be winners. On to next week and hope for better. ps, I'm not a caskett fan blinded by a lack of them, but it is an episode like this when you really understand what you miss when they aren't there.
I liked it. But I prefer the "normal" episodes, because I think Beckett is the most interesting character. And I love to see her in almost every scene.
I was really disappointed in last night's episode. Even though I knew beforehand it was going to be another Esposito episode and would have very little Castle or Beckett. I was still disappointed by the trite and too often done sterotypes that littered this episode. The CotW was solvable within the opening three minutes and the Older Male Who turned His Life Around Reaching Out story was, as I said, overdone. Especially with the overblown way the "hardass" was played. Overall, I say bring on next week, it can't be as awful as this one. Which ranks right down there with other episodes I've never rewatched and probably never will such as the video documentary episode this season. I doubt I am alone in this assessment once the Esposito fangirls stop first dancing and second making excuses that anyone who didn't like it are just sore about the lack of Castle and Beckett. Wise up, it was just a poor episode and Esposito is a supporting character for a really good reason.
Not every episode needs to be or should be about Caskett, True 'Castle' fans understand that. But unlike 'Den of Thieves' or 'Kick the Ballistics', this one didn't have the pacing, the musicality or the strong screenplay. I loved seeing Ryan and Espo as the lead story at times, I'm desperately awaiting if they can think up a great one for Lanie!!! This episode was a bit flat NOT because Espo was the main story line, It just wasn't assembled well enough compared to other episodes of 'Castle'. But they all can't be gems...
O.o it was so boring... Focus an episode on Espo could be a good idea and interresting, but not here. We didn't have a Caskett scene ok this is not a problem for me, the problem was it was really poor scenario... not really interresting
I agree! i love Beckett and Castle also but i am getting pretty tired of just seeing them. Before they became a couple at least Ryan and Havi had some screen time.I understand they were always supporting characters but now its really unfair whats happening to them..And really, we don't need to see them (castle and beckett) always kissing, geez life doesn't revolve around them kissing, and neither does the show. Sorry, that second part wasn't a reaction to you,i was reading other peoples comment and it seems all they want is them kissing.
Yes they are the leads, but before they became a couple Beckett relied on the boys more then, then now. And they were more involved in the cases then. Now we seem them coming or going with a sentence or two,and that's it..That was what i meant.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
No CASKETT? Not even the token one moment peck? I'm bailing on this one.

ReplyDeleteI liked it. I like it - a lot. As in Great. I loved that they finally gave Jon and his character something to do. I'm not complaining...
ReplyDeleteThe episode was awesome. I love Castle and every episode and this episode was excellent.
ReplyDeleteReally good episode.
ReplyDeleteOne of the better if not one of the best cases of the week in s. 5.
Was good but felt like a regular quality procedural.

ReplyDeleteI actually paid attention to the case. Great episode for Esposito and great casting for the kid. I hope to see more of him.

ReplyDeleteI liked it.The case wasn't the greatest but i enjoyed seeing an episode that was about the boys and not just castle and beckett.
ReplyDeleteThe show does revolve around them, though. They are the leads in a show that is not remotely an ensemble show.
ReplyDeleteNot that I watched the episode... just saying.

ReplyDeleteDid anyone else find the ending abrupt? Really excited for Recoil though, Senator Bracken returns!
