NBC Developing Sitcom for Jessica Simpson

Jan 15, 2013

From Fashion Star to sitcom star: NBC is developing a comedy starring Jessica Simpson, TV Guide Magazine has learned. The show would feature Simpson playing a version of herself in a Curb Your Enthusiasm-style look at her life.

The network has given the greenlight for producers to shoot a "presentation" — which means even though it's not quite a pilot, there will be enough footage shot for NBC to consider ordering a show for next season.

  1. Terrible idea, she herself can't act or sing. This sitcom is a joke, and will not be successfull. I think NBC needs avoid letting this happen, this one will flop big time.

Kabletown, maybe? This is probably Jack Donaghy's idea.

I can't see any other explanation...

  10. It's doubtful this will ever see the light of day but if she's decent enough the style of the show sounds like it could be good. Like noTORIous on VH1, I loved that show but I dislike Tori Spelling generally.

  11. What an awful idea. Did they re-hire the geniuses that gave Jenny McCarthy and Emeril Lagasse their own shows?
