I have to admit that I am startled by the turn of events here. I thought I knew which 4 would be in the final four, but I was only half right. Definitely the most wrong I've been in all of the winter hiatus contests. I am equally shocked that the polls weren't even close in round 4, since I thought at least 2 of them would be virtually tied. Therefore all bets are off. Plus it's the easiest voting of the whole contest for me - no questions, no hesitations. Making it into the final four are Renegade (65%), Back in Black (63%), Wanted Dead or Alive (70%), and O Death (80%).
This is the second to last round of the season 8 winter hiatus. You know what that means....new episode on Wednesday. Usually that also means an end to Supernatural polls until the next hiatus (except for the ones asking how you liked each episode), but SpoilerTV is starting a new weekly program...scene of the episode polls. Therefore a day or two after each new episode airs, I will compile a list of noteworthy scenes for you to vote on. Of course, there will always be an other button too and you can put your favorite scene in the comments. Be on the lookout for these polls for your other favorite TV shows as well. I'm doing White Collar, Arrow, and Grimm also so if you watch those shows, please participate there too.
Also added to the fun will be a new weekly SpoilerTV mix tape, including songs heard on TV that week. Feel free to add your suggestions in the comments of that weekly article. Finally, Spoiler is looking for more ideas in the User Submitted Daily Polls. If you have an idea, click on any poll that starts with USD and you will see a blue button to submit your poll. They don't have to revolve around Supernatural, but can be as broad as you'd like. SpoilerTV is always striving to make things more interesting for TV fans and I hope you enjoy these new features. Originally I thought this was going to be the hardest round of all for me. Instead it is refreshingly the easiest round. I have no doubts or hesitations about either of my choices.
ReplyDelete1. Renegade - Back in Black was the weakest choice in round 1 for me so this side of the bracket got really simple fast. Renegade is such a power moment because of the editing they did with the song. In fact the song makes the scene and the scene makes the song. While I love the scene in Back in Black for its Impala love, it is a generic scene when compared to the masterpiece of Renegade.
2. O Death - Hands down winner of its side of the bracket for me. No other song comes even close to capturing the essence of its scene to this one. It's creepy and created one of the best entrances in TV history, not just Supernatural. Wanted Dead or Alive was powerful in its brotherhood connection but there are too many minute things that don't fit for it to equal O Death in song-to-scene.
oh i am soo looking forward to thursday finally supernatural is returning.

ReplyDeleteI find that really strange too. Usually the closer we get to the end the more conflicted I am. In this poll that happened in the middle rounds. Interesting how it turned out.

ReplyDeleteThis has been one of my favorite contests because it is different. I had to stretch and think and analyze instead of just go with my heart. It's been interesting having a head-contest instead of a heart-contest.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by the leads when I woke up but figured things would get more even as the day progressed. Then I got in later and didn't have a chance to check the polls until right before they closed. Blew me away. After running polls for 3 years, I usually have a decent idea of how they are going to go but this one was a shocker. Both in the results and in the spread.

I know I want Renegade to win, I know O Death is perfect in every possible way and those were my votes, but both clicks were cast with a heavy heart... Back in Black and Dead Or Aline are VERY good. It's just that the other two were a bit better....

Easy, Renegade and O Death, but am so sorry Christmas lost out, but it did make this poll easier, the next one will be much harder.
ReplyDeleteDahne just wanted to let you know how much fun these polls are and to thank you for all the hard work you put in at below "minimum wage". LOL They keep me from pulling my hair out with these long waits.
Do you look to see what others think about an ep before you watch it? SPN is the one show that I make sure to watch the night it is on, everything else can wait a day and it does not bother me. ;)

It's awesome when you can see something new in a scene you've seen multiple times, so I thank everyone for participating and commenting. It's fun seeing how others interpret SPN.

ReplyDeleteIf Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas had made it into this round, today's decision would have been much harder for me. I still would have ended up voting for Renegade but it would have been with a heavy heart. It's a little consolation for its loss.
ReplyDeleteIt's satisfying that all contenders in the final four were worthy in my opinion. I was afraid this was going to turn into another favorites contest but people really put a lot of thought into it. It's made the whole contest more fun for me and I can't think of two better choices for the finale than Renegade and O Death.
ReplyDeleteI also feared this round. Not because I was unclear about which one I was voting for but because I couldn't stand the thought of voting against Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. With its loss, I was sad but at least I was able to vote today with a clear conscience.
ReplyDeleteI think most people expected these two to make it into the finales when we first started. They definitely represent Supernatural well.
