For me it's The Walking Dead and Game Of Thrones, and maybe The Vampire Diaries. The writer's for TWD and GOT have really thought about where their storyline is going in their most recent seasons- there are no plot holes, or any scenes in which you think 'wait, what?' (well except if they have done something to make the audience guess and keep the tension). These shows are very refreshing from all the other TV's about nowadays, and each episode gets better as the season's go. Vampire Diaries has also been a good change this year, with Elena being a vampire and the storyline differing from last season's.
Votes for lost because, you know, it's lost and it was amazing. But I also really wanted to vote for vampire diaries. Bth shows had/have and incredibly annoying love triangle (jack/Kate/sawyer Damon/Stephan/Elena) but apart from that both shows have amazing story lines with lots of interesting characters and plot twists that keep you engaged in the story. Love both shows
Lost is currently still sitting at the #1 spot of shows for me, but it is being threatened to be dethroned by the likes of Fringe, GoT, and Community.
However, this list is tough (with exception of Vampire Diaries). I love all the shows on here (with exception of Vampire Diaries). So I guess I'll go with this order:
1. Game of Thrones - the characters and the story are so vivid its flawless 2. Person of Interest - amazing how they intertwine so many story lines and capture so many awesome elements
3. Lost - I wavered on my allegiance to the show in Season 4 and part of Season 5 which is why its this low 4. Breaking Bad - took me a bit to get into but this show has gotten better every season 5. The Walking Dead - we all know Season 2 was a bit rocky until the end and now its firing on all cylinders
It must be the full moon,or too much holiday cheer, but what ever it is they seem to be coming out of the wood work this week.I believe this is the third this week alone?
Must be that warm and fuzzy feeling we give off that attracts them!
Surprisingly difficult for me to answer..... I do know right off the top it is NOT The Vampire Diaries or Person of Interest. Both are entertaining, but lack in the story-telling when compared to the other series listed.
I don't think it's Game of Thrones either. The books in A Song of Ice and Fire are wonderfully detailed and tell brilliant stories, but the series is a step below, both in execution and just by the fact they are forced to cram so much material into 10 episodes per season.
Likewise The Walking Dead may not be at the top of the list. It has a brilliant, but simple premise and then much of the show's greatness is pulled off by the great cast and visual effects teams. The show has been absolutely brilliant this season, but I think it is a notch below a few shows as far as storytelling goes.
LOST is a masterpiece of storytelling. There are so many moving parts related on so many levels and all manage to connect in a thoughtful way. I think compared to Breaking Bad, it does suffer a little bit due to its large cast and grande narrative.
Breaking Bad on the other hand is basically the story of one man's journey and how he affects those he knows. I think the subtlety and level of detail is amazing considering the short seasons and small number of episodes compared to say LOST. Truly one of the best series of all-time and most likely the best show on TV with some awe-inspiring performances by its actors, and yes.... the best storytelling.
Breaking Bad is an amazing work of writing. A chemistry teacher goes over to the dark side of drug-making, and gets deeper and deeper and deeper into that world. We see his journey and how it affects those around him. I'm excited to see the remaining episodes.
I care for only three of these shows: BB, The Walking Dead, and Lost. And only one out of the three would never, and I mean NEVER, leave my mind: Lost. The stories have so much to offer. More to find than ever imagined. Even after a first, second, and third viewing, keep looking.
For me it's Lost! So many layers,so many characters ,flashbacks, flashforwards, and flashsideways no one can beat that, great story telling, great storyline!!!!!!!!
Some people are really harsh about TVD, it does have amazing storylines IMO. The originals, the tomb vampires, the original love triangle, Elena's transition, the hunters everything!
Although I don't agree with the vote, it's always nice to see CW viewers support their show since most of them are usually teetering on the brink of cancellation.
I would say Breaking Bad because its essentially about an ordinary man in a ordinary world dealing with an ordinary situation (getting cancer) but its so much more than that. It works so well and I always love a rise and fall story and we are definitely getting that with Walter.
LOL its funny how TVD is winning but all of these other shows probably has way better storylines than it. don't get me wrong I LOVE TVD. it just has more fans on this site than the other shows
Vampire Diaries.. The only one out of the six that I never watched. Out of the other five, it's just too difficult to answer and see a five way tie lol.
Seriously? I don't watch any of them. I wouldn't know how to vote on this one, but thanks anyway. Now if it had Supernatural, Arrow, Leverage and Hawaii Five-O? Interesting choices though. Again, thanks.
I agree, those CW shows are always on the brink! I voted for Lost because it was so unusual and always had you guessing but TVD is one of my favorite shows!
None of the above. I think that should be a choice in all user submitted polls. That way people who don't watch the ones listed can still participate. For this season, Burn Notice is having the best story line to me. Out of the ones listed, I would choose Person of Interest but it wouldn't be in my top five.
I chose Breaking Bad. I never saw TVD. Game Of Thrones is great, but that comes from novels so I don't really see it as an fair option. TWD is amazing, but can be inconsistent and all over the place at times. Season 2 of TWD bumped this way down for me. Still love it though! Lost is my all time number one favorite show! But it left a few unanswered(minor) questions, unexplored plot lines that had been introduced, and radical changes in focus of the show. Breaking Bad is very consistent, without many, if at all, any plot holes. It has amazing development of the characters and the story itself is paced nearly perfect. Breaking Bad has a better storyline because of this; it is nearly flawless. Lost is the better journey of both plot and characters and a much more interesting show.
And to add to my below comment...POI isn't really a serialized drama, it is more episodic with basic continuation. It would better fit in a category with Fringe.
I'd have to say Game of Thrones. The scale, consistency, complexity and detail of the stories is just astounding, and add to that a fully fleshed out fantasy world that functions and works and not just a vague setting to tell these stories. One look and it's no wonder decades of thought has gone into crafting this world and these stories. It's unlike anything I have seen on television before.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
lost and person of interest
ReplyDeleteNeither one of those...
ReplyDeleteI would have voted for Fringe or The Killing, but since neither is an option I'll go with Game of Thrones.
ReplyDeleteFrom the ones above: Person of Interest! ;)
ReplyDeleteVampire Diaries? Against GoT, Breaking Bad and Lost? Really?! Well, ok.

This is a no-brainer for me: Breaking Bad.
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones has an incredibly strong storyline as well, but that's more the achievement of GRRM, so I decided to go with Breaking Bad.
All the others in this poll don't even remotely come close to GoT and BB really ...
..Completely agree with the position .( 1 to 4 )
ReplyDeleteLost. Always and forever
ReplyDeleteThis being said, I love all the other shows on the list dearly (except for Breaking Bad, which I cannot get into)
ReplyDeleteLost? Really? This proves once again the overwhelming number of morons on this site.
ReplyDelete@disqus_xUeSqLF5zU:disqus Goodbye moron. You're now banned for life lol. Loser.

Lost, Breaking Bad and....Sons of Anarchy

ReplyDeleteSame, haha
ReplyDeleteHow can TVD be added to this poll as its storylines are NON SENSE AT ALL ? The Walking Dead should be winning this poll !
ReplyDeleteIf you read the post, these are USER SUBMITTED polls. The person who Submitted the poll want these options. It's THEIR Poll.
ReplyDeleteSome people are really harsh about TVD, it does have amazing storylines IMO. The originals, the tomb vampires, the original love triangle, Elena's transition, the hunters everything!
ReplyDeleteIt was a toss-up between GoT and Breaking Bad. I went for GoT in the end.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't agree with the vote, it's always nice to see CW viewers support their show since most of them are usually teetering on the brink of cancellation.

ReplyDeleteLost had the best storyline ever on TV. But Game of Thrones is close.
ReplyDeleteI loved the mystery, the characters (and seeing them both on and off the island) and the dialogs.
I love both LOST and TVD. But when it comes to best storyline, LOST is the king!
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I don't watch any of them. I wouldn't know how to vote on this one, but thanks anyway. Now if it had Supernatural, Arrow, Leverage and Hawaii Five-O? Interesting choices though. Again, thanks.
ReplyDeleteSry, I haven't watched any of them except for parts of Breaking Bad. Can't vote :(
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest hands down.
ReplyDeleteThe Vampire Diaries? Really? Not hating on the show, and the fan loyalty says a lot, but storyline wise is just not "the best"
ReplyDeleteLost for the win, the storyline I ever see. Second Person of Interest. Third Breaking Bad.
ReplyDeleteLOST! I love The Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead too but it'll always be LOST for me. Better storyline, awesome cast, epic series! :D
ReplyDeleteWell I don't watch any of the shows besides Vampire Diaries so that gets my vote!
ReplyDeleteseriously? the best written shows are at the bottom of the ballot!!
ReplyDeleteLost . . . !
ReplyDeleteI agree, those CW shows are always on the brink! I voted for Lost because it was so unusual and always had you guessing but TVD is one of my favorite shows!
ReplyDeleteTVD is in first! Awesome, it has a good story line.
ReplyDeleteTheir only harsh on it because their show isn't in first. Most of the people on here who are harsh on it, probably don't even watch the show.
ReplyDeleteLOST is the greatest TV Series of all-time. Period.
ReplyDeleteNone of the above. I think that should be a choice in all user submitted polls. That way people who don't watch the ones listed can still participate. ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones is easily the best, altohugh I admit I am biased as I love the books upon which the show is based.
ReplyDeletePOI all the way.

ReplyDeleteLost was a fever when it started but then it became really weird.
